Title: In the beginning, God had a plan
Post by: eaglesway on September 04, 2009, 05:55:17 PM
In the beginning, God had a plan
And the Lamb was slain before the world began
God set it in motion before the fall
That the Son of Man would redeem it all

God created the cosmos by the living word
The mystery is, He wasn't heard
So He entered the chaos within His Son
To bring restitution to everyone

Yes, Christ on the cross is the cure for sin
But not everyone is entering in
Yet, each tongue will confess, every knee shall bow
There is a hard way later, an easy way now

As in Adam all died and will die again
So in Christ new creation is ushered in
For the Father determined before the fall
That in the ages to come He would reconcile all

Cain killed Abel by a wicked hand
Abel still stands by a sacrifice lamb
Cain is a wanderer and a murderer still
But now he quotes scripture when he comes for the kill

As they judged Him guilty He finished the cup
Yet Jesus forgave them as they lifted Him up
"I will draw all men to me, not one will be lost
All creation redeemed by the blood of my cross"

God created the cosmos and ordered the ages
A mystery revealed in the turning of pages
Just listen to the song all creation sings
"For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things"

Yes, in the beginning God had a plan,
The Alpha & Omega, the Sacrifice Lamb
The Father determined, before the fall
Through the shed blood of Christ, to redeem it all

Nice poem!

It reminds me of what my Biblical archaeology teacher said today though. He actually thinks that Satan sort of "snuck into" Creation and perverted it. Basically, he ruined what God originally created.

But when you think about it, if God is all powerful and all knowing: how could Satan "sneak" in? Satan didn't "sneak" in, but rather he's a part of God's plan to reconcile all.

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2Cr 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his   subtilty, so your minds   should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Yes Satan is subtle, certainly in regards to man and our minds. But Satan has no subtlety in relationship to the One who causes all things to work according to the counsel of His will(the Father) or the One who is seated at the Fathers right hand far above all principality and power. I never claim to understand the dichotomy/paradox between God's foreknowledge and predetermined plan and spiritual warfare in the temporal realm....but I know God is always in control and has always been from of old and will be through the ages of the ages.

Rev 13:8  All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast--all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.

Eph 1:9-12  And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,  (10)  to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.  (11)  In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,  (12)  in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

Act 2:22-24  "Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know--  (23)  this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.  (24)  "But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

Eph 3:8-11  To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,  (9)  and to bring to light what is the administration of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God who created all things;  (10)  so that the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly places.  (11)  This was in accordance with the eternal purpose which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord,

1Co 2:6-10  Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away;  (7)  but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory;  (8)  the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;  (9)  but just as it is written, "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND WHICH HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."  (10)  For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

Eph 6:10-13  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  (11)  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  (12)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  (13)  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

I really enjoyed reading this poem.  I agree that God had a plan for everything before the earth even was created.  There's something that didn't mesh well for me though, maybe you could explain your thoughts on it...

QuoteYes, Christ on the cross is the cure for sin
But not everyone is entering in
Yet, each tongue will confess, every knee shall bow
There is a hard way later, an easy way now

........

As they judged Him guilty He finished the cup
Yet Jesus forgave them as they lifted Him up
"I will draw all men to me, not one will be lost
All creation redeemed by the blood of my cross"

I found the first verse to not fit the UR idea where it says 'not everyone is entering in'.  Were you in a different state of belief when you wrote this?  How long ago did you write it?

Also I found these two verses to be contradictory to each other, where in the first one not everyone is 'entering in' yet in the latter verse it says that 'Not one will be lost/All creation redeemed by the blood of My cross'.  I don't understand if maybe one is meant to be before the crucifiction and one after?

Well done though.  :happyclap:

Hi there.  I'm not eaglesway, but I personally took it to mean "not all right now", as in "each in his own order" as Paul said...some now through the narrow path, the rest later "through the wide road of destruction".  That's what I also believe scripture teaches, so again, that's how I perceived what it meant.  Is that how you did mean it John?

To add a bit, the Pharisees did not enter in, many so-called 'Christians' are not entering in(Lord, Lord, didn't we prophesy, cast out demons, etc etc- "depart from me.....), the sons of disobedience are not entering in, but in the end all will be brought in, some through repentance and faith towards God in this age, some in the ages to come. But of course, the purpose of a poem isn't doctrinal dissertation- it is to make people think.....to ask a question in an obscure way....to present a unique perspective or function like a parable. I believe people ought still consider the wrath that is to come, and I do not see UR as a free pass for the wicked. I do believe that some will be saved as through fire and some after aionian kolassis/discipline- so that is reflected in my poem :o)
