Title: If Jesus believed his own words, how could he have died?
Post by: One Male on January 31, 2013, 06:24:51 PM
If Jesus believed his own words, how could he have died?

John 11; 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

If we see none about who, "shall never die", does this mean that none have ever reached the point of "he that believeth in me"?

Jesus' "why have you forsaken me" sounds as if Jesus himself did not even believe in himself and his relationship with the father.

IOW, are there no Christians since Jesus' death who have ever believed in Jesus since there is no one who has never lived longer than a normal life?

Did Jesus even believe his own words?

If so, how is it that he died?

Regards

John 11
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

This verse states "yet shall he live". It does not say "shall never die"

Yet definition:  at a future time : eventually

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

1 Corinthians 15:22

King James Version (KJV)

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Jesus lay down His life willingly...IN ORDER TO TAKE IT BACK UP AGAIN..

IF I WANT HIM TO REMAIN ALIVE UNTIL I RETURN WHAT IS THAT TO YOU?

furthermore Paul had it revealed to him that we shall not all die...but be changed...........

there are those that await Him at His return that shall be changed in a twinkling of an eye

Elijah must come again...and when he does they will ascend alive/not see death ........son of man

coming on the clouds of heaven.    As they were walking along and talking togather..........

SUDDENLY A CHARIOT OF FIRE AND HORSES OF FIRE appeared and seperated the two of them...

and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.    .

and Elisha prayed 'O Lord open his eyes so that he may see...then the Lord opened his eyes and he

looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha[ these are all the heavenly Hosts

that come with the Lord..when He3 returns in all the power and glory of His Father.

SOS 6;12  BEFORE I REALIZED IT MY DESIRE SET ME AMONG THE ROYAL CHARIOTS OF MY PEOPLE

Your Head[Christ] crowns you like MT CARMEL....that is where Elijah and the prophets of Baal and groves

[those who Jezebel fed] had the showdown as to who is God..Baal or Elijah's God..

I believe you are quoting rules laid down by God for us.  The Son of God is in a different relationship to the Father, a relationship we are NOT in, but will be some day, in that "we shall be like Him,"  In the meantime, being in a different relationship with the Father, different rules apply, and words addressed to men and women are for US, not necessarily for Jesus.

Either way, try trumping this one but be prepared to go to a moral debate without quotes on the justice of someone punishing your child for something you did.

Were this 'sentence' to have been written in English, what would it look like?

Jesus said that we are all sons of God so as Jesus said, when we find his path within us, we can do even greater things than he did.

Nope, IMO Christ made it clear, the path to the Father was through Him, we do not find the path 'within us': that's Buddha and the boys.
