Human love is greater than Gods love

A parent tells his child not to play in the street. The child decides they want to and so runs out into the street to play. The parent loves the child more than the child's will and so runs out into the street and grabs the child and (you know what probably happens next).   :punish:

Such a parent, who beats the childs freewill all over the house, is called a loving parent.

God tells his child to believe in his Son. The child decides they do not want to and so chooses to go to hell forever (a fate far more hurtful than getting hit by a car). God loves the child's will more than the child and so does nothing, but lets the child remain where they want to be.

Such a God is called a loving God.

Do they not realize they are portraying a human's love as greater than God's?

Often,

On current events I have noted that that I have more love for the abominate then God is said to.

I love arguing for love...............it always brings me to a place place release from the bondage of judgment.........it is a feeling.

God is made known to us in the person of Jesus Christ, that is the last word, and religion falls.

Indeed, in taking the traditional way of thinking to its logical conclusion, as in this human example I shared, things arise that would never otherwise be admitted. True Hebraic love אהב, a word which conveys the action 'to incline toward', is related to the verb יהב, meaning to incline as in 'to give', says so much to us, for in the word אהב, we find the One who is love, and always shows love, to be One who never stops inclining toward even his most wayward creature, always giving. Even the nicest view of a traditional hell, wherein those who are there are there solely because they want to be, separated from God, goes totally against his love, for in such a situation he no longer is inclining toward them, no longer giving.

Perhaps that might not make sense to people in the west, so we could also say that such a view also destroys the fact that love 'always hopes', as Paul wrote. The only way love can always hope is when there is that which can come to change. For those in a traditional hell, an endless torment with no opportunity to ever have it end, there is no hope, and Paul's words end up being a lie.

My favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 13.

I like to put "I" in place of "love", and that brings me to some sober questions about my walk of love.

I always protect, I always trust, I always hope, I always persevere.

I'm wanting to do a word study on those four characteristics, but my favorite concordance, interlinear, online has not been working or late.

Love is considered a momentary emotion, here on earth, but I think that Love is a way of being; a way of life, for a Christian. It is not something which occurs due to an event or a person being present or influential to us, in some way, but rather a path to walk, daily, which brings a whole way of 'seeing' our fellow man and God. The semantics can lead to misunderstandings about what Christians mean, when they speak of Love.

And, our way of seeing Love from God, shapes our way of viewing how we are to Love, as, our view on how to Love, shapes our view of who God really is.

It is definitely counter-cultural. The feeling isn't, but the way of Life is.

I believe Love is our very character and nature in Christ, more than anything we need to try and embrace as a way of life or walk. I think it is the actual character and person of God, and the fountainhead of everything else that comes forth from us. So as Christ is revealed more and more in and through us, so is Love.  :dsunny:
