This is a question that came to me as I wondered about what I read and things said on this site.
Gen 2:7  And Jehovah God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Just how old was the man of Gen.2:7? Certainly he was not an infant, unable to do for its self, perhaps a teenager, strong enough to bear a load and a job, maybe a young man, even an adult. Just how old was this first man.
The question is not to be taken as a type of humor, I would like to hear some reasonable thoughts, for thoughts is all they can be. As for my two cents, I  will go with a young man, or a young adult.
The fact that I do not believe he was younger does not say man was not an infant first.

Hi Micah - people who have died for a time sometimes say that loved ones they encounter and they themselves seem to be around 30.   This is also is about the age of Jesus when He was crucified.   I guess I have an image of early 30s being kind of "prime time" for man in physical and mental maturity. 

So if I were to speculate, I would image Adam as "ideal man" to be what is to us our early 30s.

Unless some other sway comes about I will have to say that is where my thoughts are.

It's an interesting title that Stallone choose, that line is one of my favourites in Rambo 2, when the cute woman asks him what ya mean your expendable.

cool, that seems a nice little town, area. A bit far from places I guess though, how far is the nearest city?

about an hour and 20 minutes from vancouver(where the 2010 winter olympics were held)

LS it's interesting what you said about people seeing loved ones around 30 because shortly after my Grandfather died my Grandmother saw him in a dream as a young man, probably around that age, "as handsome as ever".  :HeartThrob:  :cloud9:

I agree with that. BUT....."people who have died for a time..." I just saw that... please explain. Thank you

Micah, good question and one that makes me think more than ever that God's words to us are spiritual or symbolic or the like. It seems almost silly (to me anyway) to think of God creating a person like Mr. Ford creating a car. There is of course a purpose for all things physical but even Jesus used the non physical to get His message across to us.

Just my opinion.

He wasn't 30, only appeared to be 30. I'd say he'd be more like 20, but has the mind of a baby, why he did not notice he was naked, didn't even notice his wife, (she must have been distraught  :laughing7:)
but after eating the tree of knowledge, now their eyes are opened and they are learned people.

I can relate, today i'm one year older but still have the mind similar to Adams I could watch naked woman all day and it would not bother me.  :laughing7:

I like your thoughts. I personally lean to an understanding that at least Gen. 2,3,4,5 and perhaps further, as an allegory. But I also believe I stand pretty much alone with my reasoning.

You are definitely not alone.

I see that God has made what we call the physical yet I believe this physical is not the 'point', it is God's way of talking 'spiritual' to us. When we try to figure things out on a physical plane then unending discussions arise, not all bad mind you, just endless speculations and confusions.

Adam, Eve, Paul, Hitler, Bob down the road from me are or may be all physical people yet it's who or what they are in Adam and or Christ that is real IMO.
