Revelations 21:8 " But the fearful, and unbelieving, and  abominable and whoremongers and murderers and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. "
Revelations 21:27 " And there shall in no way enter into it anything that defiles it, neither whatsoever works abomination or makes a lie: but they which are written in the book of life. "

The only way to be written is by Christ.
The second death has to be for those who are not yet in Christ.
THEN they will enter into the heavens.
The Great white throne happens to correct those who have to go through the second death.
Then they will be in the book of life.
