Everyone, ive been reading non stop for about a week now, and im so tired of it and looking for answers to certain things, could anyone answer this quick question for me?
Ok, so EVERYONE will one day be saved, let's assume that as fact, because it is (if i get right down to it) what ive known about God for a very long time. So I wont argue against it, it sounds great to me.
Ok so what would happen to someone who was a pretty decent person, has a wife, has kids, works hard, plays pool at the weekend over a few beers, just a typical everyday man but one who doesnt believe in God, he just doesnt believe in anything like that.
Please explain to me, what happens to that man once he dies? Lets assume he dies in his sleep one night when hes old and dies in complete disbelief of God, he's been an evolutionist all his life and has read all the books and his mind is utterly convinced there is no God, lets even go as far as to say he has no fear from dying, but has a terrible disease and he actually cant wait till hes dead.
So hes died now...what happens to that man?
He will be drawn to Christ.

But...then what happens...will God punish the man? I mean...how much pain would a human have to go through to reach the perfection of Jesus and be made into his image....Also WHAT would Jesus do to make people aliken to him?
Would he stick us in a groundhog day situation which relives a moment over and over again until we get it right? Or, do we not know the answer to that?
It's not about inflicting pain. God will render to each man according to his works. What that means to me is that it isn't any of my business as to how that rendering will be done with each person. The Bible isn't specific about each particular person, but it is clear that each one will be dragged to Christ and subdued under him so that God will be all in all.
The judgment of the world is the cross, and by the death that Jesus died the world is judged. The sons of God are now undergoing the judgment of the world, which has begun with the House of God. That judgment (according to Romans 6) is the death of death itself. But the death of sin is the judgment of the world. To each man, his order, and God will deliver to each whatever God deems right to see that judgment through.

I don't know, what pain have you already gone through to learn what you know is right?
:cloud9: We are changed into His image from glory (terrestrial) to glory (celestial). What this means is, as we are quickened by His Spirit with revelation of His Word, we are being translated out of the kingdom of darkness (the carnal mind) and into the kingdom of light (the mind of Christ).
It is painful, in the sense that the things of the flesh do not want to "die" that easily sometimes, and we have to exercise faith and authority over it, both of which come from the Lord, to be set free of whatever it was that had us bound. But, it is our Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom. Blessings....
The chastening of the Lord is good. If he chastens us, though grievous, he deals with us as His sons so that we may yeild the peaceable fruit of righteousness afterward.
Psalm 18:25-28
25 To the faithful you show yourself faithful,
to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
26 to the pure you show yourself pure,
but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd.
27 You save the humble
but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.
28 You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light.
Turning darkness into light is what salvation from sin is all about and is why the chastening of the Lord is for our good.

Quite a bit Paul, but probably no more or any less than what we all go through to be honest.

There is no word punish.
Only teach, judge, chasten, approve, etc

I just wanted to comment on this. Believing in evolution does not necessarily mean you're an atheist. I believe in evolution but I still believe in God. And no I don't want to debate it. :winkgrin:
Anyway, I have more to say.
To enhance on the word "punishment". God only "punishes" us as a Father would punish their child. It isn't anger or fury that drives it, it's love. Therefore it is only comparitive to the lesson we need to learn.
I have a 4 year old and I HATE to discipline him but I know I have to. It's not to hurt him or belittle him, it's to teach him. Occasionally you may have to swat them on the butt but more often it requires less. A stern word, an explanation what they did wrong and why we're correcting him. To me that's "punishment".
For instance, I don't just tell my child to hold my hand in the parking lot, I explain WHY he has to. If he doesn't he can get hurt. Eventually he learned and now I never have to remind him. Sure when he was younger I had to swat him on the butt a couple of times, with something that important it's imperative they learn quickly, but now as soon as we get out of the car he waits until I grab his hand before he moves.
As soon as I embraced UR I instantly understood why lessons are so hard. It isn't that God is cruel, it's because we're so hard headed that it often takes a "swat on the butt" metaphorically speaking, to get the lesson through our stubborn heads.
