Gospel of Chaos Chapter 1

Jesus spoke all these things to the crowds in parables. He did not tell them anything without using a parable. 35So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet: "I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world."

The Gospel of Chaos

Chapter 1
The Old Testament is a book of principles and mysteries that were implanted into a particular group of people, like leaven, for the purpose of activating the development of a certain consciousness. The New Testament was the embodiment of the deepest principles of the Old enhanced and fulfilled for the next stage of the development of God's plan throughout the ages to all mankind. Jesus Christ is called the Logos(word) at the beginning of the New Testament in the opening letters of the gospel of John. He is also called the Light.

If we look at the scriptures as mysteries in a sense of "wheels within wheels" we get a denser understanding of what God is revealing from a more humble perspective. The Logos is complete, but it is not completely understood. Anyone who thinks they have plumbed all the depths of biblical revelation is deceived, because the scriptures are like a 3 dimensional picture hidden in a many layered cube of glass tiles. The further in you look past the image you see at first the more you will see at last. Orthodoxy is not the cure for deception, otherwise it would not manifest so many disagreements and impotent practices. One person's orthodoxy is another person's heresy- but a balanced, wholesome, penetrating understanding of the scriptures is available to the seeker, and God is always anxious to share it. "If you continue in my word you will be my disciple indeed". Like a rose in the bud, a person may say, "I have the revelation of God". In a limited sense that may be true. The Logos is the "word" or "expressed thought" of God. Jesus- Yeshua HaMashiach- the Anointed One or the Overflowing One- is "the radiance of the Father's glory and the exact representation of His nature". To know of Him is a revelation of God. But as the rose opens up there is more beauty to behold. To actually know Him is a greater, deeper revelation. He is the blossoming rose of the mind of God. Paul exhorted the Colossians to seek  "all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." So Jesus is the revelation of God and He is deep and wide. Until the rose is fully bloomed we have not seen all the beauty within.

These verses are Paul's summation at the conclusion of the book of Romans.

25Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, 26but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; 27to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever(eis tous aionos ton aionon- to the ages of the ages). Amen. Rom 16

Paul speaks of mysteries. John spoke of mysteries. Jesus spoke of mysteries.

In all wisdom and insight 9He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him 10with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is,the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.

In Ephesians Paul states that the mystery is a "kind intention"-eudokia/good will- that comes into focus as "an administration suitable to the fullness of times". The plan of God in Christ is not complete until all time is fulfilled at the end of the ages, and that administration is "the summing up of all things in Christ". That there are ages to come is spoken of in several places in Ephesians alone, and just like the days in Genesis, the plan of God will become clearer, closer to completion and more "full of glory" as the times are fulfilled, the ages complete.

In every age, in "every generation of the age of the ages"(Eph 3:21) the rose unfolds, the radiance is unveiled as "the light of knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ".

"And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake. 6For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Cor.4

Yes, in the beginning the world was without form and void, and darkness covered the face of the deep- and so it is with us if we sit in ignorance of the mind of God in Christ. But always,  the spirit is hovering over the waters.

6Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; 7but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; 8the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;

9but just as it is written,
            "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,
            AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,
            ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."

10For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, 13which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 1Cor. 2

Why would they not have crucified the Lord of glory if they had known of the hidden wisdom? Because the mystery is an administration suitable to the fullness of times, the summing up of all things in Christ. Jesus said, "If I am lifted up from the earth I will draw all men unto me." It was at the cross that the seed was sown into the earth- a seed of life that would begin to spread like leaven throughout all the dough until all was leavened(Matthew 13:3).

For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven .Col 1

For so it pleased the Father. This was His "good pleasure"(eudokia). He placed the seed of His perfect love into His Son and sent Him to be planted so that everything in heaven and earth could be reconciled unto God. This is the mystery and the hidden wisdom, and it is why disciples follow Him through any consequences. As He suffered for the joy set before Him(us) we suffer with Him for the joy set before us-the redemption of the whole creation.

18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. 19For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. 20For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. 22For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now. Romans 8

Now, going back to 1 Corinthians 2

just as it is written,
            "THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,
            AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,
            ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM."

And Ephesians 1

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.
... that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

What a beautiful thing is this plan, currently veiled to so many by the God of this world, that we who believe in Him should emerge from the sleep of death not to rejoice over souls burning in the lake of fire forever, but to be the firstfruits with Him, prepared for good works that we should walk in them, in the ages to come, bringing the whole creation into unity with Jesus Christ.

"For it is God who has said, "light will shine out of darkness' and it has shined in our hearts, only because of grace.

"Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. 18In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures." James 1

The word of truth. The Logos implanted.

We are the firstfruits. Called from out of darkness, futility and chaos. We were without form and void, but the Spirit hovered over the waters until the Logos was revealed as Light out of darkness and the waters above were separated from the waters below until the heavens came into being- in us.

"For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your lovef toward all the saints, 16I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might20that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, 21far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. Eph 1:15-21

If the principalities and powers had known they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But we are supposed to know why the chaos is not for our destruction, but rather for the salvation and deliverance of all mankind. It is the primordial soup of every stage of growth, wheels within wheels, always bringing us to the end of ourselves, so that we can get caught up in the glory of the new creation. If we fight the chaos we will not win. Only through trusting Him in the midst of it can we be drawn out into His eternal purpose. The chaos is the Potters hand upon the clay.

"Be still and know that I am God".

So Paul says, right after speaking of the whole creation set free into the glorious liberty of the children of God.....

      28And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; 30and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

      31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? 32He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? 33Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies; 34who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36Just as it is written,
            "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG;
            WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED."

37But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8

If God made the creation subject to futility, it was as a process not as condemnation. This process is working itself out according to the kind intention of the one who causes all things to work according to the counsel of His will. If the chaos has you in its grip right now, do not fear, rejoice, and call upon the name of the Lord.

The sooner we understand that God is working through the chaos, that all things are working according to His will, that His Spirit never stops hovering wherever the darkness veils the light, the sooner we will be set free into the glorious liberty of the children of God, set free to love our adversaries even as our Master and Lord did praying, "Father forgive them they don't know what they are doing."

God uses the 'brick walls' of our life to transform us. When we bump into them, we frequently stop to look up, and acknowledge Him, and He happily uses these opportunities.
