Dr. Richard Eby

I was going to mention this in Jon's thread about the Colombian childrens' visit to hell, but I decided to make a new thread. I've heard multiple videos of Dr. Richard Eby (a cousin of J Preston Eby) testifying of his OBE in which he saw hell in a way very consistent with how fundamentalists usually portray it.  In Dr. Eby's 1983 book Caught Up Into Paradise, he quoted Jesus saying, "You must be able to tell them they can choose heaven or hell, but tell them that I died to close hell and open heaven just for them. They must choose between My love and eternal life, or Satan's lies and eternal death."

Jesus did not say death for the ages. However, on Gary Amiralt's "Ever Been to Hell and Back" article, he shows a letter written by Dr. Eby to his cousin, dated five years AFTER the publication of that OBE book, and in the letter Dr. Eby boldly declared his faith in the eventual salvation of all. He called objectors to the doctrine "arrogant" and said they need to be corrected by the Spirit. He used the phrase "eons of eons." Larry Hodges, in his book "The All Encompassing Work of Christ) also stated that Dr. Eby believed in the salvation of all. As far as I know, Dr. Eby never renounced his OBE.

I have to admit, I really don't know what to think about these experiences. Dr. Eby's combination of an ET OBE and UR doctrine is really peculiar and I'm wondering what you all think about it, and does it say anything about other famous spiritual experiences which seem to confirm ET?

If what these people say or write is inconsistent with what God says clearly in His Word, we can safely dismiss it.  At best, some theology is half right, one conclusion based on one set of Scriptures being contradicted by another conclusion based on another set of Scriptures.  The concluder (aka theologian) never perceives the contradiction.  :mock: :Chinscratch: :declare:

   Jesus come  to make all the difference  , we must believe that and prove it when possible !
  to me that is the big difference  between the ET and UR   camps when Paul   clearly stated  that ALL THINGS   will be gathered in to Christ  , there is little room for error if you Believe  that Gods plan is perfect and complete  and no room for error  ,

our confidence is in God 's purpose  , not mankinds idea of Gods plan

  Exactly Micah !   I was just  stating  using the ''if ''   As to  how many people still doubt   this  :sigh:     I agree  whole heartedly     Death is the last enemy  , and death holds many while they are still   living mortal beings
They say it and    and confess it , but still dont really   Believe it    deep down in the  very fiber of their  being   yet !!!
