Are there afterlife punishments for kindhearted souls who happen not to have had faith in Jesus Christ in their lifetimes on Earth?

For example, my dad. He was a thoroughly kind man who played with me as a kid, told me stories in bed, was a faithful husband to my mother and provided for our family. He just had no sense for the spiritual and considered himself a materialistic atheist.

4 years after he died I had a dream when I visited him in Heaven and gave him a kiss and afterwards I saw an angel who smiled to me and said he made this visit possible.

What I wanted to ask, is there the chance that we can pick up faith in Jesus Christ in Heaven when not in this life on Earth? I think there are many people like my dad, for example among muslims, hindus, chinese, other atheists, etc. They would believe in Jesus if they knew he loved them so much.

Must I think that my dad would be punished for "eons" before he is allowed to join the others in heaven? He didn't do any crimes, just could not believe on Earth. He always thought, why would god let a bad man who believes go to Heaven and make a good man who doesn't believe go to hell? That was one of his questions.

He was sincerely nice to me and even when he was very sick he said things to me like, as long as I am alive I will provide for you, my son. He said this to me in the hospital and got me a big bowl of ice cream and the next day he died. I miss my dad so much.

I recently learned that most of the judgment verses in the Gospels do not refer to a literal hell but instead the 2nd coming of Jesus to Jerusalem when it was sieged in 70 AD which marked the consummation of the then-current eon. So maybe now there is an entirely different age and everyone goes to Heaven? Maybe, in the case of awful people like Hitler, they punish those people IN HEAVEN, like they must go to labor camps and are treated humanely, but must work off their debt to God and humanity? There are other ways to punish terrible people than to burn them in a fiery hell...

Some universalist do not believe in any "purgatory" but I don't think most who do(like me) would think God will punish someone just because they did not give intellectual assent. It sounds to me like your dad denied an idol rather than God. He refused to believe in an unjust and cruel idol. He basically refused to believe in moloch/saturn/baal, which is a good refusal rather than a sin. We still all need to be sanctified at some point which is one reason I believe in a "purgatory" but some refinement could also take place after the resurrection. In any case, I think it is reasonable to assume your dad isn't being tortured or treated cruelly in some pit nor in the hands of demons(which is completely absurd and unbiblical as far as I know) but he is in the hands of God wherever he is. God loves him at least as much as you do so you can trust God with him.

I believe one of the keys to the Salvation of All is the Law of the Jubilee, which states that every 49 +1 years, the trumpet is blown and all who are in servitude go free to return home and take possession of their lands and inheritance.  Clearly, God's plan is to not have us in bondage forever.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Yeah, and I think it's even shorter on a personal level.
Harvest related. That lasts 1 year max.

Look what kind of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God.
A father disciplines/corrects his children.
Some require more correction than others. Some mistakes have more serious consequences and costs- yet do not change the position in the family.
A father does not cast out his children just because they do not grasp what he is doing- just has the patience to elaborate as the child learns little by little through experience.

Everyone who died before Christ will be learning about that in the resurrection.
If this age is all there is then that would be a problem; but there are ages to come for the development and correction of man.
This is why there will be a second death for those who have to die after they have found out the truth, and then be like those who now know the truth, the first-born.
