2 Peter2:1 New International Version
'But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.'
I've always found it interesting and telling that Peter, when describing these enemies of Christ, still says that Christ has 'bought' them.If they end up in 'eternal hell' suffering everlasting torment, how could it be said of them that they have been 'bought' of Christ ?...another good evidence for UR in my opinion. :dsunny:
It is, altho I believe this verse is speaking of people who get twisted in the faith and fall into error. ETrs will still see this in their way because most of them believe we can be "unbought".

I am so glad you brought that up bro D !!
That is just it , GOD is never a failure , nor the faithful witness Jesus Christ ever deny Himself , even if we do fail in our faith [ Col1] He is everything that exist !!
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but
my words shall not pass away. He is the word of God made flesh and can never return to God void ./empty ..

Amen Bro John ,
They have not the knowledge of God , but still lean on their own understanding .
as death still reigns in their hearts :sigh:
But everyone will know from the least to the greatest Hebrews 8 The New Covenant
...10This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord. I will put My laws in their minds, and inscribe them on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they will be My people.
11No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest.
12For I will forgive their iniquities, and remember their sins no more."...
The Lord Jesus Christ will reign till every last enemy is under his feet [teaching ] death is the very last enemy and is vanquished , before presenting everything living to the LIVING GOD / FATHER .
AmenJohn...a sure foundation LIKE A ROCK..but even the foundation is unsure unto some because of little faith[doubt]. we must live by faith.. many yet do not have
the life more abundantly..the increasein Christ because of this very thing. :2c:
we will not increase past the thoughts in the scriptures that we are willing to entertain..even when He would write in the minds and hearts.....
entertaining angels unawares..... :2c:

That's very true!  I never thought of that! I suppose some may even entertain the thought that Jesus bought all, so can throw some away if He wants.. But don't they realize how cold that makes Him sound! And impotent! That there are some which cannot be drawn, even though Jesus said He would draw all to Him..
Not realizing that each one will be drawn in their own time.. That He is letting sin (imperfection, an abyss and black hole of potential?) to run its course with His hands being borders as to how far each person is allowed to go in their imperfection..
Surely(?) having to also allow the worst of the worst to occur so that imperfection (sin) can be shown up to be as truly horrible as it is(?)
