"obedience is better than all the sacrifices"

this verse scared me for a long time and Now I remember I start to be afraid again. Because, I have my obedience problem. misunderstanding, I try to do what God wants me to do but sometimes when I see an commandment or a word of god, I say, ' whattt?  this is ridiculous! -or- I will not do that!
or I say, it is ridiculous that it is forbidden I will continue to do this.

I do not want to excuse this behavior, but sometimes I really feel very responsible. And, Sometimes I thinking that 'to do or not to do that's' will make me very difficult.

I remember, the verse you gave was told to Saul.
God punished him for disobedience. He took the kingdom. He sent him a evil soul.  :flamebreath:

Saul sinned because of evil spirit. How does God allow this?

Maybe God punished me for my disobedience. but there is something interesting about that,

2.samuel 7:15 But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you.   :sigh:

Is it discrimination in the love of God and in His mercy?

why, as he told the other person, he didn't train with 'human beats' !?
why didnt god say that to Saul ?

Anyway

you are really helping.  :HeartThrob: Thank you for this.  :girlheart:

there are so many things that make me think and get upset.

it hurts me verses that show that God's love and mercy are not for everyone.

I will be 100% honest with you  ,  these verses scared me too ! Big time and was so afraid of   two things .
One  ,  what if I am  all  wrong  ?  This makes GOD 100 %    CORRECT and what if  I have been brainwashed by  carnal thinking ?
Even those whom say they are of God !!
Well This will put you in a place of complete surrender !

Starting over piece by piece  and part by part ,

I have found in all the many years of searching  for TRUTH   ,

this place is among true friends and brothers and sisters and the BIBLE  makes more  sense and has  so many answers to our million questions  and thoughts that run though our head  daily ...

GOD has blessed us with so much amazing grace .........

Saul is the example of the carnal mind  and sure God will reject it as king  , but Saul is more than just  a carnal mind ,  you know he learned though suffering   for doing it wrong , but God did  not cast him off forever , just temporary , as the whole Bible especially in the Old testament  of   trying to do good  but evil is present    .
I see two things that helped me  along the way .
Abraham  being the father of faith  , killed the 5 kings but did not take the spoils of those he slaughtered    , If you see this carnally it sounds brutal!!
But if you can see it spiritually   , you will see Abraham   getting a handle on the enemies of our minds with  GODS HELP of course   , and so did Abraham   thank God for  His Holy help   and   saying  I do not want anyone to think I am blessed  because of the  spoils of men   , but everything I have is from GOD ALONE   ...
On   the other hand we have Saul whom took the spoils  of kings slaughtered and  wanted to  keep them for himself and  still have this guiding  HAND OF GOD  in His affairs , But God rejected that  in Saul and gave him over to his  worldly  lusts  , His faith was not in God totally  , but in himself   ,  the bad spirit  Saul got to me was  satan filling his heart  ,  if you notice  he began to hate everything  and everyone at that point ..
Saul found no peace  without God and we have the same examples Jesus teaches us about   by   the strong man of the house parable   .. I see the SAUL ,  I have  been the Saul in my heart before...   I have asked   GOD to be like Abraham  also  , I do believe we are to relate to every character  in   the Bible   and  we see how God deals with   disciplining his children   ...

So  so not only do I feel sorry for Saul and Judas   , I can relate to them also !!  empathy is created  when I see failure  that God allows for our own good  , Do you think God should let them get away with bad  behavior  and just say it is alright , maybe next time  ?
We suffer for doing evil and we suffer for doing good ,Like Jesus did , but suffering  is what this  temporary world is  all about ..
Gods wrath abides    on the   prideful minded   , He will break them like you would a  baby colt  , your anger and fear subside we you begin to trust in your Master  100%    learning obedience is the hard part for sure ...   but the best results are in the end of learning  a matter ...
We learn none of us will be  happy without God , God is love   , we are to  love  God  and be loved , so we can love everyone  , pray for our enemies   , not kill them   ha ! ,  because HE IS THE source, The HOLY Spirit of all power and authority   of Love  to give out to those whom want it   and ask Him ....  GODS LOVE is unconditional  in the sense of this   , he is no respecter of person   , if you  try Him   , He will burn that pride right out of us    and that is a really good thing to hope for , but it really  hurts going though the process of it  .

Hateful  spirits ruling anyone's heart is an ugly thing they are miserable souls and  make everyone else miserable around them also    , When you pray for them   for good to come and God help  make in them a  clean heart   and keep  them  from evil , cause you got to get so close to God  , no evil can be around Him  ever , Than you got something to be happy about     , SAUL in the old testament was alot like the same Saul of the new testament  , but God changed him and made him realize he was a coveter     that loved spoils of war , Killing  everything in his path   and thought he was going Gods work and service  till Jesus got a hold of Him on that road  and told Him  He was KILLING JESUS   prosecuting the innocent [ same as ]

Well he got a new name and new heart   for God , it was Paul meaning small or little and he was  small in the kingdom of God become one of the greatest    servers of Gods  work in him ever   from that point on , knowing nothing but  Jesus Christ and him crucified  , this was the new way to walk in the Sprint of life  everlasting !!!

I  know these things can be confusing , but  as  Gods little children we learn   righteousness though all the examples    Jesus taught  , which really is a living Word   that we can and do live by ...

Hope this helps you see Jesus as it did me also  ...lots of things are being revealed at this time it seems , remember the woman whom sinned much loved much , because she was forgiven  much !!
I see Saul/Paul in this  , just as much as any one of us also ....  :HeartThrob:
Jesus is the reward  !!

what you need to realize..isthis..God andJesus knew what you would do...evenbefore you wereborn. And they love you anyway..and

have arrangedthat you shall recieve the freegift of eternallife. and any and every sin that may be worked through your body..past,present

and/or future...was dealtwith onJesus Christ's cross. For when we were yet sinners..He died for us.He has set Hisheart to love/heal

andrestore man. He counted the cost..before He began allthis...and has the ability andpower to do it. You don't have todo anything but

believe this.  He has and will deliver us all from our enemy that is more powerful than us.

  Oh sis ,
SO TRUE !!   :HeartThrob:

but sometimes you cannot see the Forrest  for the trees  , all those trees and we get stuck right in the middle of it   , not knowing what to do ...
I am  so thankful God can lift us  up from the body of death at any time , but sometimes it is not always the case .
Suffering is part of the   here and now   and  cannot be denied    .
I agree God knows everything from the beginning to the end and to trust in Him is  easy to say , but  this world gets in the way    , it is good know we are never alone ....................

He knows us better than we know ourselves , for sure ......

LOVE/GOD  never fails any of us ever ............
Jesus is the reward  !!

Paul was a pretty awesome conversion. He copped his correction pretty seriously.
He then went on to do some amazing stuff.
He also went through much suffering.

2 Cor 11;23-33 highlight that suffering-  he was even beaten, , stoned, bandits etc
Then he was given a thorn in the flesh to keep him from becoming boastful in his abilities instead of boasting only in Christ.
[2 Cor 12;7-9]

Earlier in 1 Cor 15;10 " But by the grace of God I am what I am, and this grace toward me was not in vain.
No, I worked harder than any of them,
YET NOT I, BUT THE GRACE OF GOD THAT IS WITH ME."

Phil 1;29 " For it has been granted to you on behalf of Jesus Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for Him."

This seems to lead to his observation;
Phil 2;13-15 " For it is God who is at work in YOU, both to work and to will on behalf of His good pleasure.
Do all things without grumbling or arguing so that you may be blameless and innocent,
children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation,
among who you shine like stars in the universe."

Phil 3;9-12 " Be found in Christ, NOT having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law,
but that which comes through faith in Christ, the RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD that is based on faith-
that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the FELLOWSHIP OF HIS SUFFERINGS,
becoming like Him in His death, if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.
Not that I have already attained all this or have reached my goal,
but I press on in order to make it my own BECAUSE CHRIST JESUS HAS MADE ME HIS OWN."

Hebrews 12;7 " Endure hardship as divine discipline, GOD IS TREATING YOU AS SONS.
For what son is there whom a father does not discipline?"

Vs 11 " No discipline is pleasant, but painful, but later yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained  by it."

Sooo much information, yet as grasped, develops the understanding of this age and the preparation for the ages to come.

thank you for all the posts.  :HeartThrob:

Maybe I' not a his son or daughter.
Maybe he is just punishing  as he did to other people... :)

And Maybe I just suffer because of my sins without any purpose.

Paul tells us that we can suffer if we are involved in someone else's work even.

suffering is not just about being a son or a test for faith. often even innocents suffer pain for no reason at all.

It was so nice talking to you all.

I apologize,  if I made someone tired. :girlheart:

I.M.O we learn more from suffering than just going along for the ride. Since the next ages are pretty long the lessons need to be pretty strong. Many innocents are suffering because people in power are not helping them as they should. We have the technology to be feeding everyone. We have enough area to be housing everyone; not happening due to greed.
I.M.O this is to point out to mankind they do not know everything- there is a higher power.

ALL things work together- according to His purpose.
His ways/methods are higher than mans'.
I went to prayer warrior prayer meetings praying for healing. Had the laying on of hands. Fasted. All personal efforts.
When I gave 100% to God, this was after MANY years of trying[30+ or so] - THEN this has all been dealt with and solved.
Not a quick fix, but a purposeful resolution. Learnt much.
Seems why Jesus states to give ALL your worries to Him because He cares for us- just does not use conventional methods so that no one can take any credit for His mercy.

helpful thoughts.

I just want to say that,

I did not talk about people not helping for innocent.

I talking about what God did.

I was talking about ,

'he killing innocent people to punish someones for revenge.'
and  ' he provoke people against each other and causing people to commit sin '

I know it is hard to understand God, but sometimes getting harder to love him because of that things.

You all understand better me because you didn't love a god that  creates hell. for this reason you have found universalism.

Thank you for understanding.  :HeartThrob:

our spiritual warfare has to do with 'powers"and'principalities"inigh places. Often they 'shootfiery missiles"ofnegative things into

our minds. this is referred to as our 'crown of thorns"and crucifes us...causing anxiety, torment of ourminds, amongother things, such

as accusing God,brothers etc. we have alldealtwith this kindof attack. We may pray to the Father when under this attack..tocover

our head...and protect us in such times.  Praying foryou..and please pray tothe Father regardingthis,I ask.

HisPOWER to protect/shield us from such..is our helmet of salvation. May the Godof allpeace..be with you.

I forgot, I wanted to mention how the Old Testament telling Israel not to mingle with those of other beliefs.. in that day the other beliefs celebrated and observed, included orgies and human sacrifice. To me, anyway, that's a far cry from a friend or acquaintance who reads their horoscope.. I guess I think if we shunned every one who embraced something untrue.. well, then I really would be a hermit.. :laughing7: I'm not even sure I'm in the right thread..(?) But it's been on my mind, but I have to run.. duty calls me today..

For me, when I read the words "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth" (Col. 3:2)

it is a mindset of where to place our focus which is just another way of saying

Focus (eat) on the things above; fast from the things (words) on the earth (things that others have written in their interpretation)

Because "until" we are fully convinced of His love for us, knowing we are His; the words of the world will no longer have any effect on us

What did the apostle Paul do after what happened on the road to Damascus? Did he not fast from the understandings of the Pharisees and was focused on what Christ taught Him in his solitude from all distractions?

Eat of His feast (things above) not on the feast of the earth (things below)

If your hand offends thee cut it off ....... in other words; if your hand picks up to read the things of the world and it causes you distress, cut it off so it will no longer be able to pick it up

To me, the plucking out of the eye and the cutting off of the hand are more drastic examples of fasting, they are the same truth just understood differently

Have a single eye that focuses on things above ..... not two eyes; with one on things above and one on things below.

You're right. I may be looking unilaterally. But Verses there. I don't know how to handle it. Most people do not.

I was just thinking,
Bad thoughts are condemned along in the holy book.
(And We know God sent a flood because of man's evil thoughts.)

If bad/evil thoughts sin to us how can God have bad thoughts?

( His some thoughts against people are not good. even he has got revenge thoughts   --not only revenge, many things--    and did not hide it from people. )

If us is so bad to cause someone to commit sin, how can God cause to sin?
(Verses there)

How can he provoke people if there is no darkness from God? Verses there.

How can he cause conflict in people?  And verses there...

And other important thing,  if he does not do what he tells us, how can  we think he loves and saves his enemies?

I apologize from god for even these questions to come to mind, but as I said, the verses are there and I can not to cope.

Please continue to pray for me.

I've been thinking lately that the key is not forgetting how He is Father.. I know when my children were little, if one was picking on the other, sort of tormenting the other, as children will do.. I remember thinking or feeling.. boy oh boy you just wait! whether it was a swat on the butt or a time out..

And I can't help imagining our compassionate heavenly Father watching all the suffering and indignations which some humans carry out upon other humans - all throughout history - He may indeed get the impulse to let said 'bad guys' really have it! -- Mostly, when it comes to judgment, I lean toward thinking most of it is the simple consequences and results of people's and nation's own doings. (Though "happenstance happens to all.") That's the drift I get anyway, that He's letting these things run their course, one reason being that it's the best and perhaps the only way, for everyone "in heaven and earth" to learn it.. to the point where all know it.

That there's two ways. Toward God/Life; or away from God/Life.. One way is life and living and the other can only ever be imperfection, sorrow, oppressions, wars, tribulation, apocalypse.. As it is dog eat dog. It's what it is. It's the direction it goes.. and I think that direction is "the" abyss and bottomless pit (of darkness potential) - (but that's just conjecture on my part I adopted while studying bible prophecy, namely the pit in Rev chapter 9).

There's some (even lots) of things in history people have done that - well, if the heavenly Father didn't have some reaction of anger, I'd really have to wonder.. I have to wonder how any of us would react if we walked into a room where someone was graphically torturing someone else.. perhaps even children.. Would I feel empathy for the abuser? Like the world likes to say we should do.. I'm sorry, but my empathy would not be with the abuser, and they'd be lucky if I didn't have a two by four in my hand..

But, note aside.. on a far different degree :laughing7: one thing I was told before having children is never wait to discipline until you are angry, cause then you blurt out something like no playing with your friends for months! (Then you have to back down, because you blurted something ridiculous.)

But one thing I know for sure, if a small child wants to run out into the street/road, a caring parent doesn't just say I sure wish dear you wouldn't play in traffic.. No we may likely yell and go running to nab them away from the road and give them strict warning.. and next time maybe a swat on the butt. I mean it's a matter of life and living, or not, and, or serious and painful injury. (What sort of lazy and uncaring mother or father would simply shrug and not mind.)

That valley outside Jerusalem is named Tophet, after the drums - if I remember right, tophet is drum(?) and it was drums the people banged during services to Baal-Molech in which children were placed alive in burning fire in the palms of a Molech statue.

Did this make YHVH angry? I sure hope so..

:Peace2: ..we shouldn't worry about Father not understanding.. I'm pretty sure we all shake our fist at him at one time or another (metaphorically speaking).. all part of this human experience.. If we're to be human, that is.

Thank you  :HeartThrob:

You gave a lot to me think about.

I know that God will educate his children.
But we know not everyone was his child.

And What will the death penalty teach a man what? what kind of discipline can this be?

God was very angry for those who were sacrificed to the fire. But Those who received heavy punishment were not the only ones.

I know, God was also angry at injustices made to innocent people. but he own killed the innocent while he was punishing someone who was guilty. And The punishments also came to the innocents to...  ( and even a lot of curses would affect even the children in the womb.)

And many things...

As I said, I know I can not to understand everything, and I do not want to rebellion to god, but sometimes these are pushing me.

Spending time in the presence of God brings healing, as does patience. Words help when God lends grace to the ear and oil to the tongue.

That which I do not wish I do......That which I wish to do I do not.... Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me(set me free) from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!..... There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus (our Jubilee!)from the law of sin and death.

Knowledge can set us free, but only the true knowledge, like jewels set in a crown, or apples upon a tree, set within the context of God's love is the only Way anyone can truly understand that  forgiveness, grace, and righteousness.

Prov 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.

Isaiah 50:4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakens me morning by morning, he wakens my ear to hear as the learned.

James 3:13 Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
The Logos is complete, but it is not completely understood. http://www.hell-is-a-myth.webs.com/

...I so agree that we just don't and cannot understand all things.. until He sends His Spirit and we become positioned to fully receive it.. Not always an instant work.. if ever! :gsmile: One thing about these things I consider, is He knows the past and the future.. as well as the present. He knows where everything is headed and heading.. What a nation, tribe, or individual's future is or would be.. even those in the womb within a nation going so very grievously wrong.. And how any and all of that would affect the people around it, the nations.. the world. And I always consider how this life is so brief.. time passes so very quickly.. and He "because of Jesus" (1 Cor 15:18? or so?) is going to resurrect all.

...And I loved E.W.'s post! ..And this line.. SO true..!

To be thinking like that seems to be the start of your journey- you are asking questions about life in the big picture.
You see all these difficulties left right and centre.
NO MAN will answer to your heart. We can encourage each other, which we do and should do, but GOD is the ONE Who makes us grow.
That growth is little buy little so that the truth will saturate the soul, which removes all fear little by little. Just like we can slowly and steadily encourage and nurture our children, God is Our Father working on the big picture because of Jesus work which covers our learning time frame.
Paul says,
