Why did God make us this way?

Disclaimer: This is not intended to question God's motives in a critical way. But merely to understand how we think God operates to understand Him better.

Why? Why did God make us so prone to a sinful evil nature? It makes life rotten for us, it grieves God. So why?

I believe its the only way we could learn certain attributes:

- patience
- longsuffering
- endurance
- how to overcome evil with good
- hope

Take patience for example.  How can one learn patience without having to be patient for a long period of time?

I believe, to show us mercy/kindness. Hence Romans 11:32: for God did shut up together the whole to unbelief, that to the whole He might do kindness.

How would we ever have understood, truly understood, what love is, and that GOD is love....without first experiencing an existence that is so packed with the contrasts of love and non-love.

We would never have understood or truly be able to SEE.

Just like death separates us for a season from our loved ones...
Why is that after one has passed over does our love TRULY become crystallized?
Our love blossoms even further after they have gone.
Separation makes the heart grow fonder.
God knows what he is doing.
He is teaching us.
Even though it is painful now...
no amount of suffering here will compare to the glory that is to be revealed.

We will finally all understand that love is THE most powerful thing. God is love.
We will never take LOVE for granted, ever again...

We will cling to God forever.
Having finally realized WHO He is.

The part I bolded is on my keychain. It's written above a picture of a loved one who has passed away. Reflecting on the "unseen eternal" has definitely given me strength and hope.
