Its amazing how much we can learn from the Bible when we start to open ourselves to its teachings. Some people just read the words and don't get any meaning out of it. They don't realize how much can truly be learnt from this amazing wonderful book. I will admit that I have not really learnt anything out of the old testament as of yet - probably because I have not really read into it yet. But the new testament has already opened sooooooooo much in my heart and mind. Even if you look at all the different bible versions, different newly discovered doctrines (the codex's etc.) the message in all is the same in the end. Even if early churches tried to "hide" truths and "alter" meanings as some people claim, they still could not hide what is important. Just goes to show how powerful The Word is. After all these years the message can still shine through so clearly. Now what I have learnt so far is what I truly feel the whole message is about. Let me explain what I see;

Jesus is the true example of what pure love is. His kindess and compassion to everyone and I mean everyone - man, woman, child, creature / animal - is so amazing and it really opens up a persons heart and touches you in the deepest of ways. He came to teach us that we are LOVED and that we should LOVE and teach others about LOVE. Through his teaching we learn that everyone is special and deserves a chance - even the possessed and wicked, even the adulterer, everyone. Every person, every sinner.

Another thing I have learnt is why sinning is so bad. You might say to yourself why is it a sin if no one is getting hurt. Sin always hurts someone. Even when you don't realise it. Sins hurt our Maker, when we sin we hurt ourselves. Everybody sins, BUT not everyone realises it, feels bad and tries to stop and repent. Jesus teaches us how our actions affect others and how being kind and loving brings us closer to God, just as He teaches us the effects of our sins, and how it hardens us. The message is clear, Jesus did'nt die for us so we could go on sinfully, but so that we could learn the message of love and sacrifice for others.

Would love to hear what all of you have learnt recently. Please share.
