It's Autumn here in Scotland and the trees are decked out in red, yellow, brown and all manners of rich colours. They are a sight to behold!
I was thinking that this is a sign of death. The tree stands in all it's glory in the summer as it becomes a shade from the sun and a shelter for all manner of birds and small animals. But when the fall comes, it loses it's fruit or leaves to bear the roughest of the seasons. Any old leaves are blown off by the wind and the rain feeds the bark and the sap retreats until things are right for it's life. It seems dead through the winter but it's more of a dormancy.
Trees are a lot like people and people like trees. When we die or even when we shed our fruit, it is pleasing for the Lord to see for He has ordained it that way. To our flesh, death is a curse but to the Lord, it is His will.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. Psalm 116:15

Jock
Amen Jock! I grew up in England, and had the pleasure of visiting Scotland several times too. I well remember beautiful autumn colors.
It is interesting that the climactic feasts, including Tabernacles, take place in the autumn. The colors of the maturing trees/believers are at their most vivid and beautiful, even as sacrificial death and renewal awaits.
:cloud9: Beautiful posts, beautiful thoughts....
 Thanks for sharing :HeartThrob: men as trees walking :dsunny:
Mark 8 A Blind Man Healed at Bethsaida
...23Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, "Do you see anything?"
24And he looked up and said, "I see men, for I see them like trees, walking around."
25Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly.... :HeartThrob:
:cloud9: The trees are changing colors here too.....I have a love/hate relationship with fall. I love it, but hate it because it signals winter is coming, and I have a hate/hate relationship with it, lol....Blessings....
Me too! I'm feeling whimpy this year, not ready for winter!
