The spiritual virgins of Revelation

In Rev chapter 7 the foreheads of those who are virgins are sealed on their forehead, on the mind, go along with the seal on the heart? (Then it mentions 144,000 of Israel and a unable to be numbered crowd from all nations and "ethnos".. but who or how many isn't my focus.)

In 1 Corinthians Paul talks about divisions based on 'following' Apollos, Paul or Peter.. or he used as examples.. as they were also following false teachers - "don't you know Corinthian believers, you are the temple of God? Whoever pollutes that temple..!" ..with false teaching..

2 Corinthians 11:2, Paul writes how he wants to present them to God as chaste virgins.. I believe he means as following after only Jesus.. no man., or woman.. church.. organization.. They are not meant to "follow".. To fellowship /share, worship together and even learn together, yes. But Jesus is Lord. Only Jesus.

I always kind of wondered what exactly in Rev was meant by virgins, but it says right in the verse. :doh:

There are references which call Israel a harlot-
Committing adultery, I.M.O also used to show people following other gods instead of the one true God.
Seems we are called the bride of Christ as an illustration of being solely attached to Him.
So the virgins could be those initially protected and not deviating from their calling.

They are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. 16 They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst; the sun shall not smite them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters.

But what usually jumps out at me is - They shall neither hunger nor thirst.. the sun shall not strike them nor any heat.. and the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will lead them to living fountains of (fresh?) waters. ..other translations, shelter from the heat..? These verses make me think of psalm 91. (And Revelation 13:13,seal 6) :dontknow:

Seems to be an answer to one of the beatitudes;
   " Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

By definition to hunger is to focus completely on one thing and to push away everything else that stands in the way.
To thirst is to require water of absolute necessity, and again, to push away all obstacles to get there.
So Christ is the only one Who fills us completely so there is nothing else to focus upon as the source of life.

Indeed psalm 91 is awesome. I love the 911 concept there- call at any time.
