The Spirit!!! I have been studying the you-tube videos of Dan Duval, and a lot of his teaching has to with the soul vs. the spirit. The idea is that the person is a three part being body, soul, and spirit with the heart in the body connecting the soul and spirit. Now the spirit is our connection to the Holy Spirit and they sometimes work together. Now some of what i have learned is that most people live their lives with the soul in the driver's seat. And this leads to a self-centered life leading away from God's plan. However when the spirit is in the driver's seat, we follow God's plan naturally. Now there are many reasons the soul takes over but the point is that spirit should be in control. Now Dan works mostly with people who have suffered satanic abuse and works with pulling together the fractured parts of the soul. The spirit however stays whole but it is affected by life. Now from the stories i've heard when Dan calls forth the person's spirit and talks to them the spirit always wants to do God's will but it sometimes is rendered weak because of the soul's interactions.

So one day before I got the revelation that hell was real but it wasn't forever. It's like God started gently guiding me to think of the nature of the spirit. It is pure, good and made in the image of God. And then it hit me - how could God condemn a part of himself that was good to Hell? Perhaps, all truly are saved.

Gehenna and Hades and Sheol have different meanings than a truly and literally painful hell. In the truth after death we enter a purgatory where we are alone with God and he cleanses and purifies us. The soul becomes pure and healthy and most of all loving. Life in Heaven is completely overflowing with love and peace. But in order to make that possible we need purgatory. It is not about burning literally in flames. It means burning in God's fire, and yes that is true for sinners like Hitler. The outcome is a totally changed human that fits God's demands. We shall not sin here on Earth, but we need God's fire to burn it away from us. Pray for God's fire to cleanse you. It burns the dross and brings to light the golden material of the spirit in us and fills us with more spirit ie God's love as the Spirit is love as God is the Spirit. The law is written on our hearts and we don't need to obey the literal law anymore and are put into the law of Christ which is agape love.

I agree the soul - what I think of as the psyche, or even heart.. though the mind is closely wound with the heart..  :Chinscratch: :dontknow: ...I agree self needs to be subservient to Spirit.. I guess I would think of that as God's Spirit.. But too perhaps, it's like he is the big flame (warmth) and we are little sparks of it and the spirit returns to God who gave it.. Which is pneuma(?) I think.. meaning breath.. He breathed into Adam and Adam became a living soul..

I guess I would think of it as self crucified with Christ.

I'm naturally skeptical of all teachers :laughing7: but if they can show it to me in God's Word, its all good..

To me God simply must be "perfect". (Or he too would fade?) "...as your Father in heaven is perfect.."
So the 'end' result of all this (letting history run its course) can only be "perfect". Perfect cannot lose aNything. Perfect makes NO mistakes.

:gsmile: I think you're onto something! ..and I'm starting to think there's many "proofs"!!

"No one would say that our body and soul are the same, but some people may consider our soul and spirit to be practically the same. However, 1 Thessalonians 5:23 tells us clearly that our spirit and soul are two distinct parts.

Another verse that emphasizes this distinction is Hebrews 4:12:

"For the word of God is living and operative and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow..."

Here there are the "joints and marrow" which refer to the body plus the "soul and spirit," revealing again that we have these three parts.

It's also important to see that our soul and spirit can be "divided." Hence, they're different. They can be compared to "the joints and marrow." As marrow is hidden inside the joints, so our spirit is concealed in our soul."

..the original words used are revealing too.. I love that now we have interlinear on the web.. it's even better than those big old Strong's Concordance books.. I especially like www.biblehub.com 's interlinear.. with the numbers and links right to the Hebrew or Greek words originally used.
