The inward Pull of Magnification.

To Magnify God is distinct and offers multiple rewards. We give him the Glory. The Praise. The Worship. Isn't that wonderful, isn't it thrilling to be God. I wonder what its like to receive such attention, such praise from so many. I often wonder what its like so much, I catch myself dreaming of getting attention, getting praise and Glory. My imagination goes off all by itself, and gets easily pulled into all sorts of senerios that I have seen myself magnified in. Then I snap out of the imagination and ask God why is it that I take these trips into my imagination, why do I dream so much of myself, think so much of myself? When we do this, it is the Inward pull of Magnification. This is also why so many believe they are chosen of God and now Born Again.

To Magnify is to make great or greater, to enlarge; to increase the dimensions of. It is to dramatize the present reality and exaggerate it. One of the tenants of human nature is to allign yourself with something or someone popular, and then share its popularity. Well this is what people are doing with God. They are trying to enlarge their relationship with God, exaggerate it, and increase the dimensions that God has given, and stretch those to make it appear that God has given them more. And there is a great inward pull to do this.

Addiction offers a good understanding to help picture what an inward pull can be like. The person is literally driven to do something. Now beyound an urge, it is an intense desire that even self control cannot stop. At this point one can literally just " Watch Themselves Do Things", as if even you are a witness, and you hold no power over you. Did you know it can be like this for a follower of God? You become so addicted to God, that YOU have created an image of, NOT him, but YOURSELF being involved with him, and you have greatly exaggerated it.

And I know this may bother some, but this is one of the problems I see in the end time church drama. Some will just loose their patience with God, and set up the Kingdom on Earth themselves. They will give themselves the Holy Spirit. They will make themselves Born Again. They will annoint themselves as Kings. God is just taking to long to do these things, and our desire to be these things are intense. So we take these things by violence. Now violence can mean an intense misrepresentation of content. And it can involve  intense emoitional action. God has not yet done something, so the people " Fabricate it Themselves", so their manner of worship ITSELF, has become their idol. Their own view of themselves has been magnified.

And this is an interesting dynamic to observe, because no one will ever admit to it, and most cannot see themselves as doing it. And thats what I think makes it dangerous, and a dynamic that surely intrest satan, who is constantly looking for any way to disrupt. So I wanted to take a look at this inward pull of Magnification.

Peace.

Mickiel

Israel wanted a god that they could see and touch. Which is very simular to the desire to want Gods Spirit inside of you, then God would be yours. You would have him right there at your leisure, right in your house, right there every time you pray. Israel made " For Themselves" a god that they could worship. Because God wouldnot come out of the mountain. Their inward pull to worship a god they could personalize was very intense, so they fabricated their own. That was the inward pull of Magnification.

Now God is still in the mountain, and people still desire him so much, that they are still fabricating things that they can personalize and see in relation to God. And these things have been magnified into some intense emotional beliefs.

Peace.

I am not a Temple of God, if that is what you ask. Nothing of God is in me, but I believe God does lead me at times. My thoughts and events in my life, but no, nothing of him is yet in me.

It is fascinating to me how most look for God in the grandeur, the dazzle, the thunder, the....the richness and most of all the Superiority.....these are all aspects of God.......but IMO God came to show something new....

.......and that is that God IS in the small.....the poor...the submissive...the weak....the humble.....the lowly........and the last.

Jesus came to shake things up......show the world Who and What God really is.

At the moment I'm thinking of the song...

This love that I have.....the world didn't give it to me.......the world didn't give it......and the world can't take it away :gguitar:

If there is truly an inward pull of Magnification.....IMO there must be an outward pull of Magnification as well....

Mickiel

It is just as fascinating how people have made claims on God at different levels. The Christian claims on him. The Universalist Claims on him. The Seventh day Adventist claim on him. The Baptist claim on him. All those claims fascinate me, each believing to be Gods Annointed. Each pulled by a great magnification of self.

Let me say this. God has very rarely given inspirations to certain discriptions of himself, as he did in Nahum 1:2. He is Jealous and Avenging.

If a person walked around claiming to be your mate, and they were not, wouldnot that disturb you? If they made claims that they were your son or daughter, and they were not, how would that make you feel? Even more so, what if they went further and claimed they were your firstborn?

Well this is how people are doing God. They have placed themselves into Gods womb and pulled themselves out of it, claiming to be his children. How do you think God feels about this? What does God think when he hears someone claim that he has annointed them, and he has not?

Two things, he is Jealous and Avenging.  Neither one sounds good to me. The inweard pull of self magnification ignores the making your calling and election sure. It does not even know how to make it sure.

Peace.

Mickiel

I have oftened asked myself, " Who makes the decision to call someone to God?" Whos choice is it? Who can say that they or another are called of God? By what standard are they making these decisions. These revelations.  Who dares to say that they actually know the great God? And how is it that you know him? Who dares to say that Gods Great Holy Spirit is inside of them, and how has that been tested and made sure?

Who will get angry at these questions, and claim the one who ask of them is the culprit. Where is the class being taught that helps one make their calling and choosing sure? Who is teaching that class?

Well I have seen certain evidence of the results of people calling themselves. A group of people get together and there are no evident fruits of the Spirit there, but yet they all claim to have Gods Spirit. Is it wrong for an outsider to ask for confirmation? Is that wrong? Is the person asking for confirmation evil? Thats the only thing I asked this group, and I asked very nicely. I was asked to leave. As if I was somehow evil to ask for evidence of God being present, as if that is not biblical.

The inward pull of self magnification is afraid to deal with the confirmation, only try to reap the assumptions. And steal the benefits of the great God, as if they can be stolen.

Peace.

To me.....jealousy and an avenging spirit sound like feelings from someone that is going through the experience of powerLESSness.

IMO.....absolute power.......absolute Love.... requires absolutely nothing because it already has ........and already is.....

I think its just that God simply does not like to be manipulated and assimulated by others. That is mocking him. People try to speak for him, claim he has given them certain things, and claim to represent him. And usually they take those positions and hurt others with it. As they imitate God, they lift themselves up, and tear others down. And God has an avenging Spirit toward that. He not only is protective of his true annointed, he is very protective of his own name.

And his jealously, which is certainly nothing like human jealously, dislikes those who would impute his name, and steal his birthright before their time. God didnot like it when the first human did it,and he still does not like it when present day humans do it.

When things get complicated I keep going back to what its really all about;

Jesus came to reconcile us to the Father. That we may know our Father and that we may walk in fellowship with Him.

I believe we grab onto so many rabbit trails (idols) and go off ignoring the true goal.....

The good news is so simple.... He loves us, He wants us to know this so we wont hide and we come and start hanging out with Him. :girlheart:

Hey Mickiel....you know, I can see what you're saying, and I think that when God gives of Himself it is only natural that we would give it back.  IMO God freely gives of Himself (outward pull of magnification).......gives His Love, and freely receives our Love in return (inward pull of magnification).  There seems to be a give and take going on between us and Him......very similar to any love relationship between 2 people.

When one stops giving Love.....or taking Love.....the relationship begins to fade.

Well this subject has been on my mind of late, and I know it willnot be on others, for various reasons. The inward pull of Magnification can be a two edged sword, it can be a desire to praise God, or it can be a pacification of Self. A very intricate pacification of Self. When a birthright is stolen, its like stealing the calling of God. Instead of replacing yourself to be laid on of hands from a blind man giving the blessing of birthright to you, instead you are fabricatiing the birthright yourself by claiming God has given you his Holy Spirit, and that you are born Again, when neither has really occured.

Instead of a blindman giving you the Birthright, you have believed so hard, so intensely that God has given it to you, that you have simply magnified the blessings unto yourself. Because you just know that you deserve it. You just Know that God had to do it. You just Know that God had no other choice but to call you. So you changed the procedure, and everything that God was supposed to do, you did yourself.

A Magnifying glass does not change anything, it just improves the view. So in the inward pull of magnification, a person has magnified themselves, but yet they are still believers in God. Still followers of God. Still worshippers of God. This is part of the group that Jesus claimed was worshipping him in Vain.

Peace.

Michele

Yeah.....and if someone is truly claiming to follow God, but they're doing it in vain (deceiving themselves)...they will never feel truly content....and IMO that is the justice in all of it.......people can claim all day long that they have a close relationship with God, but I think they know the real truth inside. :HeartThrob:

Another interesting thing is that if one magnifies the Love/Light of God for long enough......they'll start a FIRE.......but this will not happen if they are only magnifying their own ego.

Well although I understand what you are saying, but I give self induced belief much more credit. It is far more stronger, far more dedicated, and far more delusional than even those under its sway believe. I would say that the feeling of being content, is easily obtained by vain believers, because their belief is stronger than their vanity. And I think the definition of deception, is not knowing you are deceived, so people can feel like they have a close relationship with God, not really have that, but still believe they do with all their hearts. And I think this happens to every group of believers on earth, including Universalist. Just because someone believes in the Salvation of all, is not a card blanch to God calling them. Just because you believe in God saving everyone, does not mean he has annointed you. Thats just a belief that is being passed around by opinionated people. Just because a website is frequented by universalist, does not mean God has " Called that website", or is working with anyone who vists there. All these are human assumption, and the Calling of God is certainly prone to human Assumption as well. It is part of the inward magnification of self.

And I believe that the calling of God has been assummed, far more than it has actually occured.

But I can understand that. People want and believe in God just that much.

I look at the greatness and unlimited ability of God, when this being decides to deal with a human in fullness, things are just going to occur. No, God is moving behind the scenes, keeping a very low profile right now. Moving very slowly, and human eyes and understanding cannot see him. But they want him so bad, they are fabricating him, creating him in their doctrines. Duplicating him in their desires, and universalist are doing this also. This is what being Kings before the Time means. You rush everything of God. His calling, his choosing, his Spirit, his Kingdom, the New Birth, understanding of Scripture, everything is eing coveted on such intense levels, that human desire is the real manufactor of it, and not God himself.

And this is how satan enters into a believer, or a called out person of God. Often we read the scripture and wonder why satan was able to penertrate the people of God, then we think to ourselves, " Well I won't let that happen to me." Most of the time he entered through them because they Coveted, or they wanted more from God than he had given, or they wanted something from God BEFORE God had given it. So the human desire behind the inward pull of magnification, is coveting.

Look at Paul. Great man of God, very powerful leader. But he wanted certain things from God, that God wouldnot give. He Coveted from God. But understand this; what he wanted, what he coveted, was a " Good Thing" to have. Paul was not asking for sinful things from God. But you can't take things from God, you cannot usurp his gifts, or take them by violence, even though they are good things that you covet from him, like his calling, or his Holy Spirit. How are you going to get away with that?

Oh so now people can twist Gods arm and make him do things. Just because you are having, or had, an intense emotional burst in your life, a gut wrenching event, then you asked God for his calling or his Spirit, oh so now God gave it to you because of this particular emotional event? Because of a way YOU were FEELING? So from then on YOU felt like things had changed. Is this what true conversion really is?

Much needs to be considered, that is if you value your calling, that it be true and real. And not self manufactored.

Peace.

Michele

Mickiel.....if I can't go by feeling I don't really know how else to base my relationship with our Father?  :dontknow:

To be honest.....there are many times that I don't feel very close to God......I still have days that I'm not at peace...days I can't hear His still small voice because there is so much crazyness going on in my life.

Some days I literally just need to step inside the closet and pray.....because sometimes I tend to forget the very meaning and purpose of my existence.......I get side tracked with all this trivial stuff. :gsigh:

Well two things right off that I would say; Gods voice is not still and small, not according to the bible. So I would question to myself, where this" still small voice" description of God really comes from. So what have you really been hearing? How does the bible really describe Gods voice, where it does. Take an honest look at that.

Secondly, if you base your relationship with God on your feelings, then you are saying that the foundation of your relationship with him is emotion. That no matter what happens, your emotions will continually secure the relationship. Then in the same paragraph, you admit to not " Feeling" close to him some days. So emotional content, is not a secure foundation to base a relationship with God on, although emotions can be included or affected by the relationship. It may not even be enough to base a relationship with a man on, and even that will fail you quite often. So you would base a relationship with God, on something that is not even enough to secure a man with?

No, you base a relationship with God, by the ONLY way one could. By the Spirit of God, there is no other way that is secure. The Spirit by the Spirit, that is how to properly deal with God. Without the Spirit, then there is no intimitate relationship, but there could be a casual relationship. And I think thats what most people really have, but are unable to see or admit to it.

Peace.

Michele

Mickiel....have you ever read the secret letters of Mother Teresa??

Shortly after Mother Teresa's work in Calcutta's slums, the spirit left her.

"Where is my faith?" she wrote. "Even deep down... there is nothing but emptiness and darkness... If there be God — please forgive me."

Eight years later, she was still looking to reclaim her lost faith.

"Such deep longing for God... Repulsed, empty, no faith, no love, no zeal," she said.

As her fame increased, her faith refused to return. Her smile, she said, was a mask.

What do I labor for?" she asked in one letter. "If there be no God, there can be no soul. If there be no soul then, Jesus, You also are not true."

I think so many of us go through this.......none of us are alone in this deep longing for God.  Most of us don't even know the longing for God is even there, but we feel a strong sense of being empty.....and separation.....we try to fill this in various ways, but nothing seems to quite be the answer.

Also, you mentioned about God's voice......I guess perhaps it can be audible like booming thunder, but in the scriptures God speaks often times in dreams and visions that are very personal to the experiencer.  This may be very loud and bold to the one experiencing it, but to others around.......they may not even know it is taking place. :2c:

Mickiel

Well I am not a mother Teresa fan, I only know what I know. I view her like I do any other human leader who had wisdom, it does not mean she had Gods Spirit or was in an intimate relationship with him. Some may believe the Spirit left her, but I do not assume it was with her in the first place.

And I do not assume it is with me. As I will make sure of it when it happens to me, I only believe it was in others when I make sure of that.

Peace.

Michele

I just gave you that example to show you that all people go through similar spiritual struggles (even the well known religous people).  IMO having God's Spirit does not mean that you're superior to others......quite the contrary.

What is God?......can we feel Him?.....will we know when we've found Him?  It's almost like God is this amazing treasure that everyone's trying to find.

Most avid treasure hunters will tell you that the real treasure is the journey or the hunt......the experience of anticipation.  We can only imagine what it will be like when we see God eye to eye......face to face.

Mickiel

Now, I wanted to go into the word for a bit, and biblically examine the inward pull of magnification, or the desire to be exalted in Christ. I have repeatedly stated that one can have knowledge and wisdom, and that does not mean they were called by God. Now there are different callings, and not all callings lead into Gods church. I think Mother Teresa and Martin Luther King are good examples of that. I think God called these two people to make certain impressions on the society they lived in, and they did. But that does not mean he gave them his Holy Spirit or put them into one of his churchs. Conversely God has called people to make certain impressions that were basically evil on this world. This is the reality of the tree that holds both good and evil in its root system.

Now, just because a person has been enlightened with some truth, that does not mean God has given them his Spirit. Notice Ephesians 1:18;" I pray that the eyes of your Heart be enlightened, so that you may know what is the Hope of his calling( and what are the other things involved in God calling someone)." Now this is a level that is being " Skipped" by so many, the " Hope" of God calling you. People don't Hope that God calls them, they " Claim" that God has called them. They have Claimed God, like one would a peice of money they have found. Then they turn around after they have staked their claim, and convince themselves that God has " Drawn Them", then they use their KNOWLEDGE as the evidence of that.

Show me in the bible where Knowledge is evidence of God calling someone.  The calling of God is SOLEY the result of the greatness of Gods power working, not what somebody " Knows" about the bible. If the calling of God is far above all rule and authority and power on earth, then how can knowledge be a sign of his calling? Thats like believing that your emotions are proof of Gods calling. Knowledge is increasing all over the earth, even biblical knowledge is increasing. The carnal mind can understand things of God, if it is trained too. Its the deep things of God that carnality would have trouble with. It won't catch it all, but it will some. Its already been done. And you know why, because God willed it to be done when it was. Why would God show the world his truth as a " Witness", if there would be no witnesses, or none who would understand.

Now, Gal. 6:3, " If anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself." Who was Paul speaking to when he taught this? He was talking to a church of God. Paul could see that some were NOT examining their calling, to make it sure, they just TOOK it for granted. And they were " Boasting" that God had called them. You know, announcing to others, or witnessing to others, that they were annointed by God to be in this " Real True" Church. This " Inward Desire" to be one of Gods own, is what leads to the magnification of the mind of a human who desires to be annointed by God.

But what people are skipping over, as they try to skip the stage of Hoping for Gods calling, and taking as their own, is that God willnot be mocked, whatever YOU sow, that is what you will reap. If a person called themselves, elevated themselves, then they will reap themselves. And that is why any church that holds no true Spiritual Power, is in that condition, because it planted itself. And it will be no different with an individuals life. What God has established, will eventually Grow, it will increase, nothing can hold it back but God.

Peace.

Hello Michiel, I'm not a christian I've never gone to church but I know that underneath all our lies and pretense God dwells, our true nature is spirit.  Its the recognition. Ive read that its like trying to explain what  darkness is to a person blind from birth.  I have experience myself in what I believe people call born again, it was beautiful and perfect, and very natural but I couldnt go into it because I was afraid, it didnt feel safe for me because i still have things about myself that I want to hide.
I have also heard that still quiet voice, that was also very normal and profound at the same time.
Dont really know what I'm trying to express to you, only that maybe when something is so close and present, that it is over looked or dissmissed.

Well I am not Christian either, but I think that it is impossible for God to communicate to a human, and the human not know it was him. Conversely, I think it very possible for a human to receive communication from another source, and mistake it for God, And I believe that happens more often than God communicates. Angels have communicated with humans, and the human was confused, and thought it was God. We have record of that. Whenever God himself, or Christ himself, communicated with a human on earth, there was a definte change, BOTH Spiritually and often physically as well. I do not see that changing just because it is in the 20th cenyury. If God personally communicated with anyone on earth, or when he does it, that person will be like no onelse on earth. And they will NEVER deviate from that position ever again. They will increase like nonelse on earth, and that is what cannot be hidden. They will stand out weather they would like to or not. Like a lamp that couldnot be hidden, they will NOT be like anyonelse. They just won't.

And Although I am not sure what you are trying to say to me, I can say this to you; God may call a weak, unwise fool, but after he is annointed, you won't be dealing with a fool from then on. The Spirit of God does not breed foolishness, it does not breed weakness, it does not prepare people to hide their Light.

And when God decides to personally speak to a human, explain to yourself, why he would wispher to them at such a time as it would be? Why would he be verbally " Still", or how could a persons voice be " Still", and they be considered speaking?

Anyhow, peace to you.
