I've read a few of your posts and you definitely have a unique perspective on quite a few things.

I guess a lot of what you shared on re-birth and having the 'Spirit' ect. is based on your own experience?

There is a certain logic in most of what you say, and I can see my 'ego' self going down those various roads at times.

I quoted yor statement above, because it is profound.

When things get out of hand, I do always have to go back to what God did before 'I' and my thought process got involved.

That being said, being reborn and Spirit filled are the most humbling things imaginable, something that should give you great perspective as to who gets glory and why.

Are your doubts as to the claims of others that they are reborn or Spirit filled or truly worshiping God based on your own experience and so you are incredulous? Or do you see bad fruit in them, or what?

Just curious....

Well it is based on what I see, as all of our views must be, based on personal observation, as compared to Gods word. And I do not seek to tear down any truth, or spy on any brethren. Look at Gal.2:4; " But it was because of the False brethren who had sneaked in to spy on our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, in order to bring us into bondage.,"  I am not christian, nor called of God, nor have I sneaked in, I was here before most who are here now. I have made no claims to be a brother to anyone here or anywhere else. I am not advocating that we go back to the bondage of the law, nor am I trying to compel New Covenant people to live like Old Covenant people. The purpose of this thread is to advocate that we make our calling and election sure, which is not outside of Gods will.

One of the things which blocks us from making our calling sure, is to believe we need not even do that. But its easy to do that, because the calling itself is based on a promise. What can make the promise vain, is when we take the birthright that is supposed to be given. The inward pull of Gods calling, is then really the inward pull of our desire to be called, and ready to receive the calling. Instead of investing discussion and study on just how we do make our calling sure, we instead, invest all things on the supposition that all that is already done for us. We mix the guarantee of Salvation with the confidence that we have it already settled in Christ, and bypass an important section in the hope that comes from what hope can teach. We have been introduced to this Faith by God and should exult in the Hope of the Glory of God, and not only that, but exult in our tribulations, knowing that brings about perseverance, and that Proves Character, and recycles us back to Hope. But many people are disappointed because they bypass important levels we should have lived through, and claim the Holy Spirit has been given, but yet they are disappointed. Read Romans 5:1-5.

Why is this? Well I think one reason is because we have manufactured our own tribulations, our own calling, and our own giving of the Spirit, and instead of real Godly Power, we have our own Power to Live on. Based on Knowledge and understanding, which may be a reflection of the Spirit, but is not the Spirit of God itself. We can benefit from knowledge, but it is insufficient to carry us through the real Tribulations yet to come. Part of making your calling sure, is to become grounded in the Faith, well grounded. But there is a whole lot of doubt when your grounded by self magnification. It can be tricky because self magnification resembles faith.

The Lust of the world, the lust of the eyes and the Pride of Life, is not just a description of what worldly people go through, it can be inverted to what magnification of self can do to corrupt Gods very calling. You lust for it, you see it, and you Take pride in getting it. And then some have the nerve to wonder why there is still so much futility in their lives. The Spirit of God is not a Spirit of slavery to sin, nor is it ignorant of sin, nor should it think that we need not even consider sin anymore. We are predestined, THEN we are called, THEN we chosen, THEN we are justified, THEN we are glorified, each in that order, you cannot skip one or two and speed jump ahead and make claims to the latter, you must live through them. We get called and we jump right into being Born Again.

And my concern is that we should not be doing that.

Peace.

In 1Corinth.4, Paul had to deal with people in the church who regarded themselves as " Superior", they felt they were " Already Filled", vs.8. Already filled with what? What do you think he is talking about? Wine, food, water? No, he was talking about people who felt they were already filled with the Holy Spirit, that they were Already Kings of God, already Born again and into Gods Kingdom. Thats what he meant by Already Filled.

Why would someone believe they are already filled? Well because these people were called of God, read his word of that time and listened to all this wonderful preaching from the Apostles. All this got into them, and there was an inward pull of Magnification. Paul was trying to " Pull them back down from this", this flirting with self glory, from vs. 8-13, he list all the suffering and facts of things that God has established FOR THE REASON OF HUMILITY, to keep his people humble and grounded. Because they thought they had become rich( Spiritually) and wealthy ( Again Spiritually) and had no " Spiritual Needs", just like the church in Laodicea of Revelations.

The inward pull of Magnification caused them to believe that they had attained, they were led to think themselves self sufficent, which leads to Pride, oh such pride in their calling, their benefits. Look at the church in Sardis, in Rev.3:2, Jesus found that their " Deeds" were not completted in the sight of God. Deeds, what deeds, the inward pull of magnification leads to beliefs that Gods people need not " Do Deeds", they are complette in Christ, their deeds done for them. These bretheren had stopped " Doing Deeds". What and how were they led to this point of belief and living?

Well it takes a Spiritual deception to deceive Spiritual people of God. It takes Scripture to mislead Scripture led people. The bible, or Spiritual teachings, is used to bring people to these points of being.

Peace.

Quote from: Mickiel on September 30, 2007, 07:02:23 PMAddiction offers a good understanding to help picture what an inward pull can be like. The person is literally driven to do something. Now beyound an urge, it is an intense desire that even self control cannot stop. At this point one can literally just " Watch Themselves Do Things", as if even you are a witness, and you hold no power over you.
This sounds like demon possession or something to me.

QuoteAnd I know this may bother some, but this is one of the problems I see in the end time church drama. Some will just loose their patience with God, and set up the Kingdom on Earth themselves. They will give themselves the Holy Spirit. They will make themselves Born Again. They will annoint themselves as Kings. God is just taking to long to do these things, and our desire to be these things are intense. So we take these things by violence. Now violence can mean an intense misrepresentation of content. And it can involve  intense emoitional action. God has not yet done something, so the people " Fabricate it Themselves", so their manner of worship ITSELF, has become their idol. Their own view of themselves has been magnified.
This sounds like how the "Beast" of Revelation 13 happens.

I don't know how interested "Satan" is or not in this stuff but it certainly messes up people mentally.

I don't think hardly anyone would disagree that satan is certainly after the people God is going after. The devil most certainly persues the people God persues. And one of the sure ways that he persues them, is " Within the framework of THEIR understanding of Scripture." He goes at the from " Inside of the Bible", not some awkward outside of scripture attemp. He looks to deceive them with biblical issues. Using biblical principles that he wants to warp.

And that is what inward magnification is, and inward, or scripture based distortion. Which appears, on the surface, to be a pull of the Spirit of God, but really is not.
