Title: Teachers and teachers
Post by: micah7:9 on May 20, 2011, 06:52:02 AM
Ive been on this forum for sometime, I like it 90% of the time, I learn and I fumble through the math, and work with the talents He has given me. I have read and studied Warnock, Hawtin,Britton, Eby,Prinzing, A.P.Adams and others, I do not study or find a foothold for study in minsters such as Kennedy, Haggie,Copeland, Olstene,TBN,CBN,
I find it quite odd that some on this forum, even moderators, have not read Eby, Hawtin. I have to wonder and figure how did one get this far and not have read and know of Eby, Warnock, Prinzing, and Britton.

I have no desire to be a prophet or seer. I would be blessed and pleased, if I were to continue being a footwasher, a laden bearer, a servant. I have no ambition or want  to be a discerner of the Word, yet I am warmed with the persuasion that perhaps I will be given to teach.

Hi Micah,

I am not a moderator, teacher, preacher or anything. You might say I am the least of the least, a nobody, who yearns to know it all but as of now I know not much of anything. I get on here to gleen any truths I can and share what little I think I know, sometimes I might be right and sometimes I may be wrong. I have to look to God to show me what he wants me to know. I have read Eby,Prinzing, A.P.Adams but never heard of Warnock, Hawtin,Britton. Do they teach the salvation of all? Will have to look them up.

I have learned from you as well micah. Miss willieH, wish he would return.

I miss WillieH very much. I thank you for your words, I also learn from all the posts, I enjoy the meal. The teachers I have mentioned could not teach what the Bible, The Word of God did not already have to give. The Father and Creator has no intention to leave not one....NOT ONE without the cleansing fire!
Geo. Warnock pioneered much of the Tabernacle and Feasts teaching today, Hawtin, who wrote the "Page" and Warnock were both from Canada where the rain began and flowed down to Azuza St. Bill Britton and others came out of that great move of the Spirit.
Ray Prinzing changed my whole understanding of the Word, Bro. Prinzing would teach right from the banquet plate and offer all the Word, in a positive way, without the negative, it changed me forever when I read and study. Ray Prinzing passed on, I miss him dearly. But it was from him that I was blessed with Elwiin Roach, Gary, and others today, yes all of this forum, even when Im onery.

:cloud9: I can't speak for anyone else, but as for me, I spent the first 2 years of my walk (pre-computer, 25 years ago) studying for myself with a Nave's topical study Bible, and a Strong's concordance, with His Spirit as my teacher, and REFUSED all other books offered to me. Since I didn't know who else to believe, I decided not to leave my fate to ANY man, believing instead that the Word said HE would teach me, even though I had no idea at the time, how that would be accomplished. I asked for wisdom, I asked Him to teach me.

It has been a great faith builder and a WITNESS, over the years to be told of this one or that one that had arrived at the same things the Lord taught me personally, before I ever heard their names or literally had any idea that anyone in the world was being shown these things. God keeps His promises. Blessings....

I have problems with such statements. I'm told the HS can reach us in a zillion and 1 ways, but how you know that Bible salesman that knocks on your door isn't one of those zillion and one ways?

What is Naves Topical Bible? Well just what is Naves and what makes it so special? I mean there are concordances and other reference books, what makes Naves an absolute? Who is Nave? I only ask. :HeartThrob:

:cloud9: Naves is a particular type of study Bible, and the one I used, that's all.

And I think you missed the point. I had no idea WHO had the truth, or if (initially) it was even possible to know the truth about any of it in THIS life, didn't even know at first if the Bible was even inspired at all, tampered with majorly, ect. Therefore, I went to the Source, after reading that if any man lack wisdom, let him ask of the Lord.

Again, there is another difference. When I feel led to read what someone has published, I'm not reading to learn by taking in my or someone else's thoughts, I'M READING TO HEAR (the Spirit). The Spirit will witness the Spirit. Blessings.... :2c:

I am not trying to be indefferent, I just wonder.

Naves is a particular study bible, okay does that mean that any other particular bible study perhaps is not suffiicient as Naves?
I only ask because if what you use while you study the Word of God, the Bible is the Naves Study, am I to accept that Naves understanding is the way to see and accept what the Bible is teaching? I mean is seems like you read the Bible and use Naves to help you comprehend, and when the Bible and its verses chime with what you see or read when you reference Naves, it becomes so. Am I in err? PS does Naves lean towards the soul is the woman?
I really do not feel that using esword is a hindrence. Its Strongs and Thayer, there are always some who just want to seem more. I try to use Youngs and Strongs, I sure there are more could cause me to stop and think. Thank you WW

Just google a bit. There are many topological study tools. It's just like with Bibles you love one translation and hate another. I think you are a e-Sword user? If so look on that site and download it there for use inside eSword. Then you can just click and goto a relavant verse.

I am not an athiest who studies the bible to see where it may have error that man can point out and say SEE! I believe that God created all that we have seen, see, and will see. I believe that Jesus Chirst the man and the Son of God, was crucified and died so that all mankind will be saved, in His Way and in His Time. I study not to find perhaps an error that man can gnarl over, picking it to peices, I seek and dig for the treasure and the nuggets that give peace and rest. There is much wisdom in my search. Peace and Love Through Jesus

Micah, a topological Bible doesn't teach you anything. You just click on the S and get words with an S. Click on soul and you get sections concerning the soul.
Those sectiosn can have soem religious bias.
But then you click again and get:

CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD Ge 1:26, 27; 9:6; Ec 7:29; 1Co 11:7; 15:48, 49; Jas 3:9

That's it. No teachings. Just a list of "Soul verses" connected with the image of God.
Of course you can argue there should be more or less verses in that list. In that case you have to find a better topological study tool.

About Strong and Thayer. All credits for the Strong numbers goes to mr. Strong.
He also wrote the dictonary linked to those numbers.
But other scholars have improved considerbly on his work.
Thayer upgraded the NT part
Brown, Driver and Briggs improved the Hebrew part
Someone also added Tense Voice Mood.
To make use of the above you MUST have KJV-TVM installed. Plus the matching Strong library.

When I last looked for it there where no proper modules taht combined all the updated verses so I compiled one for eSword and TheWord.
http://www.tentmaker.org/forum/christian_life/list_useful_links_9060.msg112440.html#msg112440 (http://www.tentmaker.org/forum/christian_life/list_useful_links_9060.msg112440.html#msg112440)  ---> serch for BestLex
To be clear I updated zero (0) defenitions. I just combined the work of KJV, Strong, BDB and Thayer into one module/download.
So no special WhiteWings defenitions
I tested it a little on eSword and use it on daily basis with TheWord. And it's what you see me using on this forum.
Again speaking for myself.. TheWord outclasses eSword. Just try. In case of problems I'll help you but unfortunately I'll be off-line for  a days (funeral).
I can also upload a ready to use TheWord. Download. Unpack. Start. Lots and lots of stuff is included. 830MB download. 3.5 GB unpacked

 :cloud9: @ Micah......re-read my last paragraph.....

Let me just add.....why do we believe what we believe? Is it because someone we read has gained some notoriety and is published, and so we parrot their beliefs? Or is because the SPIRIT of the Lord witnessed TO OUR SPIRIT, that a particular point is truth and no lie or deceitful fable of men?

The Lord is to be our shepherd and no man, and another's voice we will not hear. Other men's gleaned wisdom is supposed to be a WITNESS to what the Lord has already made life in us via His Spirit, not something to lead us in His stead, which is why He told the Israelites that EVERY MAN was to gather enough manna FOR THEMSELVES daily. Men have, as usual, got the cart before the horse.

Believing ANY aspect of the truth, even if it is His truth, PROFITS US NOTHING, unless it has been quickened in us by the Spirit of the Lord. This is why it says that NO MAN can add to his stature one cubit. Christ is the true measure of stature, and only His Spirit can add to ours (Him in us), because deep calls unto deep. In this way, we become living epistles, His word having been made life or alive, IN US.

All religion is based on one man's experience/revelation of some aspect of God, and all the others following that revelation, put themselves in that man's "camp", drinking of that man's oasis and sharing that man's manna, instead of allowing the Spirit of the Lord to lead them to drink from what HE wants them to drink from, and eat what He has for them, for THAT DAY.

Some of the Israelites learned this truth the hard way by refusing to follow the cloud and stayed behind with their oasis. Once the Source moved on, the blessing became a desert again as the waters dried up and they perished. My  :2c: Blessings.....

Amen Cardinal!!

I came to a place where I didn't know what to believe, I was so confused. I got down on my knees and ask God to show me what the truth was because only he knows.  That is when the sun started peaking through the clouds, a little here and a little there. I can't agree with anyone 100% on all of their beliefs because I don't think anyone has all of the truth, at least this is what God has showed me down through the years.

Hebrews 8

10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, 'Know the Lord,'
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12 For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more."

It's not that I disown all thoughts of other men about our faith.  If so, I wouldn't be here.  But, generally speaking for me the thoughts of men on subjects brings more confusion than clarity.  There were things placed in my heart many years ago that I didn't trust because of the words and ideas of men.  Today, I am beginning to trust the word the Holy Spirit speaks directly to my spirit.  In that trust, I don't need any man's acceptance or approval of my beliefs.

Should we sharpen each other?  Absolutely.  But, if we are looking to men to find more doctrine, or to find authors who agree with the ideas we have come to believe, I think we are missing the point.  Just you, a Bible and the Holy Spirit sounds right to me.

not to veer off topic but this has always been one of my favorite statements in the Bible:

I will be their God,
and they will be my people.

When I read that I hear God saying that in the most endearing tone.  So gentle and yet powerful.

You seem to clearly love Jesus and the word is important to you. You go through the word well and you are very persistent, your also not affraid to go against the tide and do battle, but also willing to learn new things. So I think you would make a great teacher.

Every good thing is right our of Gods mouth  :HeartThrob:
Mat 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Bread fills  the hungry soul  with adversity   to me  thats  the good and evil narrow, tight

2) straits, distress

3) adversary, foe, enemy, oppressor

4) hard pebble, flint     the warring within begins  :mshock:
Jesus being the Bread of Life is the whole other thing , the Work of Gods Spirit to heal us and His water of Life

but the rest of HIS WORD ..  WoW ,,,,,, everything is put in its proper place

Isa 30:20   And [though] the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:

How do we see them ?  with the eyes of understanding  the Spirit of discernment  , the Holy Spirit teaches us as we go    :HeartThrob:
