I have been reading with great interest ALL the posts here at TMForum today re: how to spread the good news... some dream of starting a church, some are already taking public stands on forums, some are praying, some are....     ... all posters are in my prayers and love in Christ.

I thought about a quote I read some place... "Always preach the gospel, sometimes use words."   Well, I am a hymnaholoic so here's a hymn based on Rom 8:26 Conformed to the image of His Son 

CAN THE WORLD SEE JESUS IN YOU?  Morris, 1917

Do we live so close to the Lord today,

I think Lao-Tzu  might have said that, had he been a Christian.  I read his Tao te Ching, and enjoyed it, but I didn't see it as a religious book.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

  :hiya:  How very true and inspiring are the words to that hymn! :gthumbsup: It focuses on what truly, is the most important activity of all believers.. to draw ever so close to Him, that we may reflect Him and thus draw others to seeking Him.. I like the words "always preach the gospel, sometimes use words"! Sometimes I think words get in the way, for we are zealous to show someone how wise we are! :ghaha: Which of course, we are not! Yet it's good we can get together and discuss our passion for the Truth (God's Word). Awesome hymn.. and words to keep forefront in mind! :smile:
