When you hear a new spiritual truth, how is it revealed to you, like viscerally specifically? Does anyone else feel their breath get so deep that you feel you could inhale forever?( hyperbole). Or maybe, a deep feeling of peace specifically in your forehead?  Or like the sky is opening up in your brain?  Or am I just crazy? :banana: :dontknow:

I get like euphoria, like I feel warm all over  :dsunny:

Good question, Colleen. I have wondered this myself. For me, the feeling is one of clarity, peace. I feel like a question I had in the back of my mind has become perfectly reconciled and I am in peace. This usually comes at a time I am not particularly seeking an answer, but the truth breaks through the noise of life. It comes and I often feel great relief at the revelation.

I feel a kind of excitement, like an exxplorer with a new discovery. If it involves the greatness and glory of God I'm in awe because it is beyond my comprehension to think of infinite anything much less the many ways God is infinite.

All of the above, plus, occasionally, jumping up and running around the house a few times ;o)

Deena.. many thanks...  My thoughts exactly... especially like "...truth breaks through the noise of life."  I printed on a large piece of cardboard

Ps 93:4  The Lord on high is mightier and more glorious than the noise of many waters, yes, than the mighty breakers and waves of the sea.

and placed it above my TV and within eye sight of my computer (Internet)..also can see it as I come back into my apartment after a walk/talk with other tenants...

I've been encouraging myself in the Lord through the Psalms and old, old hymns and found this hymn based on Ps 93 by Isaac Watts, 1719

JEHOVAH REIGNS --  HE DWELLS IN LIGHT

Jehovah reigns -- He dwells in light,
Girded with majesty and might;
The world, created by His hands,
Still on its first foundation stands.

But ere this spacious world was made,
Or had its first foundation laid,
Thy throne eternal ages stood,
Thyself the ever-living God.

Like floods, the angry nations rise,
And aim their rage against the skies;
Vain floods, that aim their rage so high!
At Thy rebuke the billows die.

For ever shall Thy throne endure;
Thy promise stands for ever sure;

===================
the noise frequently is made up of my own inner thoughts, feelings, questions, and the analogy of raging/roaring seas or vain floods that aim their rage so high really express my own inner turmoil and being reminded that the Lord on high is mightier than all this brings great comfort...

Sometimes, especially with the right music, a thought, an idea, a truth, a revelation breaks through to me in a way (as I said in another thread) that I can only describe as "joysorrow," and sometimes it is so overwhelming that I can barely breathe.
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

That was wonderful, Anna.  Yes, the "noise" is often the loudest in my head, but God breaks through in the gentlest of ways.  It helps me to trust Him even more.

  Jesus  is compared to the many voices /waters   from ABOVE   from the very begining  :cloud9:

Gen 1:7   And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second dayAnd God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry [land] appear: and it was so.

Psa 148:4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that [be] above the heavens.

Isa 45:8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.
Jhn 8:23 And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Jam 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Jam 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish.
Jam 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Psa 29:3 The voice of the LORD [is] upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD [is] upon many waters.
Eze 43:2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice [was] like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
Rev 1:15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. Rev 14:2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
Rev 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
Jesus is the reward  !!

So the voice of God sings and thunders through the waters that are added daily to the river of His glorious grace, as we are all drawn upwards and into it as we hear.

"deep calls unto deep at the sound of Your waterfalls O Lord"

Indeed!   Test me in this says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not

throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing

that you will not have room enough for all it.

For me, it's like a veil falls off my eyes and I see something wonderful and amazing.  I get an excitement, a peace, and I feel a deepening affection for our Savior.

The bliss of revelation from God is usually soon followed with the desire to share it with as many people as I can.  Sometimes it is not so good.  I remember almost 40 years ago waking around 8 am from a dream of a nuclear attack on the USA and being so afflicted by it I stayed almost immobilized in bed until noon.
