Nothing like a mystery!
Selah is a word used 74 times in the Hebrew Bible, seventy-one times in the Psalms and three times in the Book of Habakkuk.
The meaning of the word is not known.
Well hey...At least it's one word they couldn't mistranslate. :laughing7:
doesn't it mean 'lift up'and celah[weigh in the balance"?I thought it did...therefore appropriate to say right before David lifted up his voice
in Praising God in song. Jeremiah..lift[exalt] up God and lifted[exalted] up of God.
Jesus exalted the Father andwaslifted upof Him[exalted to His right hand] :2c:

Having done a search online for the meaning of the word there seems to only be speculation with nobody really knowing for sure.
Your interpretation sounds pretty good to me! :HeartThrob: :URWelcome: But i've no idea.
Someone told me it means to "pause and reflect" ...they are Quaker and named their daughter Selah.
But yeah, I think the meaning is only speculation, based on the context there could be multiple meanings.
Amplified says: pause calmly and think about that!
