:sigh: I know the days and ppl weren't perfect, but oh for simpler days gone by.. My husband just watched a really good episode of "Rawhide" - anybody remember Rawhide?
Then he changed the channel just in time to catch the tail end of "Father Knows Best" - I fell in love with that show in my late 20's - as the Father (who knows best:) was leading the family in a heartfelt prayer of thanksgiving.. thankful for the family, the community, for God, and also was thankful for freedom..
We gave up all satellite/cable tv and use antenna and some of the channels are very retro. God is made mention of (and not as a bad guy).. people prayed over their loved ones when they buried them..
Wagon Train and Death Valley Days mention God quite a bit.. It's kind of nice. Retro life.. retro nation..
(Yet all 'good' things, potentially, can endure 'forever'.)
:thumbsup:Marie..me too! that's all I watch..... :girlheart:

I listen to the Bonanza Christmas album every month or so lol!...It just makes me feel good...Simpler times indeed!
You can almost feel the warmth of the fire, the love in the music...
I know it's a Bonanza album and people laugh at me but I don't care lol!

I have a retro channel for all the good ol days shows , raw hide , wagon train, had a crush on Robert Fuller at 7 years old lol .
I just googled a satellite image of the childhood home , born and raised till 10 yrs old , by chance last night !! ,when a 11 year old boy went missing on my old street in Nap town , Indianapolis Indiana .
I remember the street address numbers and all , It is funny when I looked at how small it is now and when I was little it was SOOOO BIG and scary looking all around it remembering all the neighbours names and houses , but it is still there after 61 years .
Crazy how the time has flown by , wow!! :dsunny:
