Title: Re-incarnation
Post by: Nancy on December 05, 2008, 02:20:40 AM
Hi there all,

I am reading a book at the moment called Genesis Revealed. The author expounds the theory of re-incarnation.  He cites a hynotherapist who regresses people to their life BETWEEN lifes.  These regressed people talk of  needing to learn lessons in their incarnated bodies and that they can use their free will to do this in.
I don't really understand any of this but i find the doctrine of re-incarnation interesting as i find the concept of 'going to heaven for eternity' a bit tooo good to be true.
When Jesus spoke of the 2nd death, does this maybe mean being re-incarnated into another body?
Also if we progress spiritually through countless incarnations, is believing that Jesus died for our sins, irrelevant?

Interested to hear your thoughts!
Godbless

I kind of ran into this on other forums as well.  But I'm still a bit uneasy with it.  For me, Jesus didn't give any indication that we'll keep coming back in other forms.  I know they use the example of John the Baptist being Elijah . . .but I think to many are looking at that more literally than spiritually.

It seems to create more questions than answers.

First we where part of God.
Then suddenly we are here on earth. => first reincarnation
After we die we get resurected again => second reincarnation
Then there is the second death from which we arise => third reincarnation
But that's probably not the reincarnation you are speaking about....

Nathan can you give me some URLs?

So possible Elvis is still alive? Maybe he's Britney Spears. Guess that would be his personal LoF :laughing7:

Reincarnation is a doctrine of demons that sets aside the work of the Cross, makes all truth relative, subject to change, etc.  It denies the truths of Scripture such as their declaration of homosexuality in Romans 1 that says it's rebellion by making gender relative 'cause maybe I've been a man as often as I've been a woman and who's to say that this person that's the same gender as myself isn't my spouse from the last 50 life times.  Scripture says that it's appointed unto man once to die and after this the judgment.  It doesn't say that it's appointed unto man a quarter of a million times to die over a period of a million years.  How sadistic would that be?  Geez.  Reincarnation tries to say that man can earn what the Bible is emphatic to only be by the free gift of God's grace.  Reincarnation passes sin down past the third and fourth generation, when the Bible says that God only visits it to the third and fourth generation to destroy it.  It contradicts the perfections of Christ Jesus by saying "Who's to say that He wasn't Krishna and Buddha previously, but He finally got it right 2000 years ago!"  So, the blasphemy inherent in such an ideology is self evident.

It lays to the charge of every human being an infinitely higher number of sins than they've ever thus far committed by saying that we were ever a part of every religion previously, killers in every war, rapists once or twice in our last 11,000 generations, and it adds to our account an infinite number of sexual liasons that while momentarily arousing to a fallen human ego afterwards makes relationships and commitments to be in vain, to be relative, and it deepens the sense of lostness to the present human condition because are we with the person we were supposed to be with for this life time?  So, it lends itself to paranoid madness with all of those scenarios.  Worse yet, have we slept with our kids or parents from previous eons?  It complicates life, emotions, penalties, God's justice, and our relationship with Him to an infinite degree.

re incarnation is    the leaven  of Herod beware! do not eat/gulp down such filth ! Herod started that  lie
1) leaven

2) metaph. of inveterate mental and moral corruption, viewed in its tendency to infect others
Mar 8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and [of] the leaven of Herod.

Mar 6:14 And king Herod heard [of him]; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.   Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets.

Mar 6:16 But when Herod heard [thereof], he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.

I  so hate to see people go down that slippery  slope !

it is confusion and not of God

Imagine we all were re-incarnated a number of times. It would have to end at some point and then what? Would you go to Heaven? Would you remember all your past lives? -How confusing would that be, you would'nt know what family to join in Heaven etc. I personally also believe in the Bible, men live once and then die.

Many of us have a hard enough of a time figuring out who we are for this life without adding the confusion of a dozen previous identities.  In many ways it's a very degrading doctrine to say that we've been here that many times and still don't have it more together than we do.  Even one extra century to draw upon and I'm sure I'd be practically perfect with all of the "what not to do" in my gut somewhere already preprogrammed in there from having had my whipping from the last life.

Hi All , I done a big study on this very  thing , because I was also wondering and very curious about it  for a long while  re incarnation     sounded  as if it was possible with God   and after deep searching and prayer   over this  confusion left in me over it
I became very passionate about  clearing it up for anyone willing to believe /obey  what the Spirit  is saying ,  all I can say Is it was a great  relief   to let it go !

John the baptist the Same cleansing HOLY  Spirit represents   the destruction of falsehood  as did Elijah  with fire and water  to the false prophets  of his day  and fulfilling prophecy  in Malachi  4 cleaning house  like a white tornado !

Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says  the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

Mal 4:3 And you  shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do [this], says the LORD of hosts.

Mal 4:4 Remember you  the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, [with] the statutes and judgments.

Mal 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Mal 4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

the curse is found in   Zech  5 ;3   all robbers and thieves of Gods Glory shall be  angered , hot and burning  within , for they have lost their place of power/comfy position  !

Luke keeps record of this   Luke 1 ;17 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

Luk 1:14 And you  shall have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

Luk 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

Luk 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

i tell you it is the SAME ONE SPIRIT   , The Holy Spirit  , working in all of Gods  people for all times /TIME

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that YOU walk worthy of the vocation wherewith YOUe are called,

Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Eph 4:4 [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who [is] above all, and through all, and in you all.

Always has been ,always will be ONE SPIRIT &TRUTH  God does not change ,  God changes us ...

Thanks guys for all your replies and support!

I never liked the doctrine of re-incarnation because i don't like the thought of HAVING to come back here again and again!
But the only thing i can say good about it is, if it was true, it should make a person act well towards everyone, so that they don't get a horrible time in the next life!!!!  But talk about salvation by works! What pressure.

But look at the example of the untouchables in India, who are treated terribly. I think that is because others think that they must have done something terrible in their previous life, if i'm not wrong. So they are treated like pariahs! But before we get cocky, christians are no better in one way, by condemning others to hell-fire because they don't happen to believe!

Hi sis  , Nancy ,
God love ya!
I know , to me it is sad  that the goal in that type of religion ,would be to come back as a COW !
and be worshipped by all  , while the people and  mostly the little ones suffer  such a fate  , a miserable life and they are born into it  , so sad
God help  :HeartThrob:

There is not one word in the good news gospel of Christ, or the entire bible that speaks of any man being born of water more than once.

As far as I can descern the doctrines of        re-incarnation held by various religious views around the world are in their very viewpoints opposit to the "GOOD" news gospel ressurection, it is all his work and none of ours, on the contrary to that re-incarnation doctrines are about cleansing ourselves of sin through meritous works or rigid penance related to  law keeping rather than Gods grace and mercy coming upon all men. Where is there any hope or true GOOD news in the doctrines of re-incarnation?  It is all worked out in Gods good time and not ours, by what Christ alone has done, on that we can rest received.

The Grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to ALL men.   Titus 2:11

Peace,
Fire Walker

Individual reincarnation would be cruel and unusual punishment.  :laughing7:

On the other hand - the Breath of God has been reincarnated billions of times.

I have a friend who believes in reincarnation and when I made the comment "Reincarnation would be cruel and unusual punishment" the response was "Oh no, it's only by the choice of those who WANT to come back again".

Clearly the answer is not just as simple as looking at what one (or several) major world religions teach about it. No more than understanding Jesus or the plan of God can be done by studying mainstream Christian theology.

Cleopatra, huh?  Another popular reincarnation subject for men is Abraham Lincoln.  There are hundreds of guys believing that they were Lincoln in a previous life, which is obviously absurd.  As for myself, if reincarntion were hypothetically true, I would probably have been a slave freed by Mr. Lincoln.

:cloud9: Reincarnation is a lie, it is a doctrine based on works, which negates the cross of Christ. And as such, it has a corresponding spirit behind it, which I can tell you from my deliverance minister days, is EXTREMELY vicious and quite unwilling to give up ground once firmly rooted. It is what produces the "memories" in that it inhabited the people it is sharing information on, so no big wonder that it has accurate details.

And just so you know, I know by the Spirit literally letting me perceive them there, that the spirits of such things as this are actually hiding in the very books themselves, which is why they had to bring their curious books and burn them before all men, in Acts. So take not an abomination into your house, lest ye worship that thing, takes on a whole new meaning. I never ministered to anyone in their home that was experiencing demonic activity that did not have something of the occult studies in their home. And yes, we burned them. That made for some interesting conversation as several things happened during that exercise, not for the faint of heart.

Going to fortune tellers and mediums is the same curse, so whether you bring home a book or not, you've instantly got company as soon as you walk thru their door, because you are assigned a spirit. I used to have people tell me, "But I don't believe in it, I just went for fun."

It doesn't matter if you believe in it or not, they believe in you, and you have crossed a line God established and now you're fair game for them. Can't emphasize enough, none of that garbage is to be messed with in any way, shape or form, because it carries the most severe consequences, and although they may stay hidden for awhile, eventually they will begin to manifest in one way or another, it's their job and they do it very well. Blessings....

Yeah, and I've been Thomas Jefferson all of this time.  Even if not, I want that house!!! LOL!  Or one like it.  Monticello turns out to be about 11,000 square feet.  That's remarkably "humble" for how big many of the mansions were on plantations in the years that followed.
