Hi ya all,

My husband and I have had Spike our new dog for over a week now. He is a crossed Pomeranian with a lurcher.  He is a rescue dog although his previous owner worked for the RSPCA an animal charity, so he was well looked after.  He is a dear little thing, he looks like a little fox.  He likes licking faces and inside ears!!!! Yuk!!! He is slowly getting used to our neighbourhood. May God allow us to have many joyful years with him.

Not sure....  :laughing7:

QuoteThe lurcher is not a dog breed, but rather a type of dog. It is a hardy crossbred sighthound that is generally a cross between a sighthound and any other breed, usually a pastoral dog or Terrier. Collie crosses have always been very popular. Lurchers can be crossed several times.

QuoteThe lurcher was bred in Ireland and Great Britain by the Irish Gypsies and travellers in the 17th century. They were used for poaching rabbits, hares and other small creatures. The name lurcher is a derived name from the Romani language word lur, which means thief.

John 12:47  And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous ...

Hi there Card and WhiteWings,
I describe a lurcher as any dog crossed with a greyhound or whippet (a smaller greyhound) you also have Italian Greyhounds which are tiny versions of greyhounds! Very cute and delicate!

For just a second, I genuinely believed you.  Shows how awake I am.  Anyway, hopefully this raisin bran will wake me up.  If not, I'm sure I've got some coffee around here somewhere.  At first, I was like "oh, okay" and trying to picture the episode and then suddenly I was like "wait a minute..." and read the rest of your post.

Anyway, congrads on the lurcher and hope you're able to find the rest of the Adams family. :icon_jokercolor: :happy3:  Many people opt for a dog that can't handle the constant rejection from a cat telling them everyday [at certain times of the day, and particularly if the bowl's full] that they're not all dat, so they opt for the more emotionally supportive dog that'll think you're absolutely wonderful, can do absolutely anything, etc., etc. :laughing7:  On second thought, why don't I have a dog? :mshock: :sigh:

(Go to the Mall.  Adam's family hangs out there.  Look all around and that's who you'll see.  I'm not sure why people say they're lost.  They're all over and easy to find.  It's really more like God who is, well, like someone once said, "With all your seeking, can you find out God?")
