We actually had our Christmas celebrations on the 23rd as my wife must work night shift at the hospital Christmas night.

Funny, I was having visions of sugarplums dancing in my head, but for some reason after reading Dennis's post, they were surrounding Fresh King prawns on a green salad with lime dressing... who'd of thought!

Last Christmas, my gift to you was the documentary, the Star of Bethlehem.

It is the moving story of one man's discovery of the possible identification of the star of Bethlehem followed by the Magi and its meaning of King, King, King.

And, how fitting that this great Gentile holiday should mark the exact day, December 25th,  that the Gentiles, those wise men from the Orient, first brought gifts to the Christ child, the King of the Jews.  How fitting that the Gentiles fell down and worshipped Him before the Jews ever did.  We know Jesus was a toddler at this time because after he found out that the wise men left by a different route, Herod ordered all Jewish children under the age of 2 to be killed.

This year my gift is a gift I gave to myself, a book called, "The Man Nobody Knows,"

And, a quote from that book which I think you all will enjoy:

A sermon was once preached in St. John's church in New York which dealt  very severely with the frailties of poor human nature and put forth with unctuous assurance the promise of eternal punishment for a large proportion of the race.
