Whether some may not believe in Repentance for our day and time--it still is a biblical principle.
Repentance(change of mind,action,lifestyle--a turning away from and a turning unto)
What should men Repent of today ? Sin--Sins
What is a biblical definition of what Sin-Sins is ???
1st John 3:4--Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law:For SIN IS the TRANSGRESSION of the LAW.
So a one who Sins is transgressing the law--and a one who repents turns from transgressions and turns unto obeying the Law(commandments, statues, laws).
For Yahshua said the if you love him to keep his commandments(laws, statues)
So where did he get the commandments that he taught from ??? of course the old testament--as so did the apostles also.
Yahshua gave 2 commandments that he said the whole law and prophets hung upon
Love Yah with all your heart(first four of the ten commandments dealt towards Yah)
Love thy neighbor as thy self (last 6 of the ten commandments dealt towards mankind)
So if you keep these 2 commandments you are keeping basically all 10 of the commandments
The woman caught in adultery was told by Yahshua to go and SIN NO MORE(Go and transgress his law No More--she had broken the 7th commandment and did not love her neighbor as her self in the process.
The ones that said Lord Lord have we not done all these things--Yahshua told them he never knew them and to depart from him that they were workers of iniquity(lawbreakers)from the biblical definition of iniquity(Sin).
Those that build their house upon the rock are they that not only Hear but DO his sayings(commandments, statues, laws)
The rich young ruler was told to keep the commandments Yahshua told him to do to have life(Yahshua listed 5 of the commadments that dealt towards man)Rich young ruler said he had kept all of those 5 and Yahshua didn't rebuke him but was going to deal with the 1 that he was breaking!!!
Yahshua told him he lacked just 1 Thing--go sell what he had and give to poor and follow Yahshua!!!
Ahh but the young man had much possessions---and Yahshua was dealing with the 1 commandment he purposely left off the list before that the young man was breaking----Thou Shalt Not Covet !!! young man coveted his possessions and walked away :-(
Also he told his Disciples that their Righteousness had to exceed that of the scribes or they would NOT enter in.
True biblical repentance is so far from what we are taught today in most denominations and this is very sad indeed.
Make no mistake--we (all mankind)have already been saved from Sin which brought forth Death through Adam--we shall ALL be raised from the dead and live!!!because of Yahshua
But we will ALL be judged for our works upon this earth(many scriptures bear this out)
Repentance and heart believing go hand in hand--its more than a mental assertion that the facts are true--but it is a lifestyle that is directed by LOVE and following Yahshua(which means keeping his commandments, laws, statues)
Today many preach of the 9 commandments and teach them--but they purposely leave out the 4th commandment because they know they and the most of Christianity is in the wrong---Remembering and keeping the Sabbath Holy--7th day--Saturday not Sunday(Sunday is related to the worship of the Sun God)the only biblical Sunday worship was once a year at the feast of Pentecost which always landed on a Sunday--History will show you :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:
the scriptures bear out plainly for those who would study and rightly interpret them that the New Testament Saints kept the Sabbath(7th Day) not the 1st day
they also kept all the Feasts and Holy days(theres more than 1 Sabbath --but the others are yearly unlike the weekly Sabbath)
Where does this leave modern day Christianity ??
John has kinda a hard saying to some which is in 1st John chapter 2-ill quote some of his sayings---
1st John 2:3--We know that we know him IF we keep his commandments!!!
1st John2:4--He that sayeth I know him and keepeth NOT his commandments is a Liar and the truth is not in him!!!
1st John 2:5--whoever keepeth his word(commandments)the Love of Yah is perfected in them!!!
From the Father's very Commandments,Statues, laws will all of mankind be judged and will receive good or bad as the apostle paul explains it.
How do we all feel about this subject of Repentance ??? :dsunny: :dsunny:
IMO judgment will highlight the difference between our works and the complete work of Christ.
Judgment is a correction process. To comprehend you need to know the difference between good and evil. We are being shown that as we grow.
Repentance is the work of our Father as He trains and disciplines us.
Paul planted, Apollos watered, but God makes us grow. [ 1 Cor 3;6]
Appreciated brother.

when adam ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil--before hand he didn't know what good or evil was
after adam ate of the tree he quickly found out what the knowledge of good and evil was.
the knowledge of good relates to the obedience of Yah's Laws and Commandments
the knowledge of evil relates to the dis-obedience of yah's laws and Commandments
adam had found out to dis-obey brought forth evil things on men--in his case and ours DEATH and the other cursings he received.
adam knew then that to obey Yah's Commandments brought forth good things and Life.
in Deut 30 we are told that Life and Death--Good and Evil--Blessing and Cursing is set before us.
Life,Good,Blessings and Death,Evil,Cursings are set before us
For he beckons us to choose Life Good Blessings that we may live
The Life,Good,Blessings are all based upon obedience in his commandments, laws statues that he gave
The Death,Evil,Cursings are all based upon dis-obedience in his commandments, laws, statues that he gave
see even in Deut how the good is obeying his commandments and evil is dis-obedience ???
if a child is told to not touch the oven that is burning because its HOT!!!
that child doesn't know what HOT is--just as adam didn't know what good and evil was before he ate of the tree
but when that child touches the HOT stove--ohhh the pain and the blister on its hand--it now knows what HOT!!! is
when adam ate of the tree he was told NOT to eat--he knew afterwards what good and evil was.
which are we choosing the good or evil ???
just some thoughts from my perspective :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:

:iagree: that the father works that repentance in us--For Godly sorrow worketh Repentance in us as the scriptures states :HeartThrob: :HeartThrob:
