Title: Jeremiah 17:9
Post by: Eduard on November 24, 2015, 12:14:15 AM
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

I have just felt this, though it had little to do with UR or even faith. I had a friend that seemed very kind and listenened to my troubles and I did the same for her. We even met, and I felt she was a good person. But, not long after, she cut off ties with me without giving a reason or an explanation to say what was wrong.

:sigh:

The heart talked about here seems to be the very point about the flesh; desperately wicked.
Hence the need for a saviour.

Would be a serious problem if not for the master plan to raise children of God as royalty.
We go through growth in the spirit just like in the flesh.
Conceived- no say in that process
infancy -where we  don't know what is going on but can use emotions for attention;
Puberty where the hormones over-ride the mental system
work place- where we learn how to do the job through experience
maturity -  where things fall into place and begin to understand better what is happening;
When the penny drops everything makes sense; but if not releasing the penny nothing happens.
Looking at a prince/princess they have to learn as they grow before coming to maturity and receiving their position. They make mistakes- but they NEVER lose their position.
We make mistakes, but in Christ we NEVER lose our position.

We were deliberately made like this so as to teach what can happen when self-control, love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, kindness is not happening.
The fruit of the flesh is bad news. The fruit of the spirit is indescribably good.
Christ had to die and be resurrected first so as to be  first in everything.
As in Adam all die, so in Christ will all be made alive, but each in his own time.

Meeting people who are not yet in the spirit is a time of learning the fruit of the spirit so as to have true compassion, and not hold anything against them just because they are figuratively young on the spiritual side of life [ possibly not even conceived until the resurrection hence miss out on the first fruit stage.].

This lady friend probably could not be near your presence in Christ. The resistance to change is high.
Also, unfortunately as you grow in the spirit the flesh will oppose you. Gal 5 deals with that. Eph 6 talks about the spiritual armour.
Imagine how Christ had everyone against Him even though He was healing many.
I.M.O He wept about  Lazarus scenario because the people were focussing on laz death, not really looking at the resurrection principal.
Could also have been the compassion to know where they were going to end up, just could not yet tell them He was the saviour, otherwise they would not crucify Him, which would mean He could not pay the price for mankind.

Considering the size of mankind we are talking many people. Yet He treats us as individuals.
AWESOME.

Amen Ross!

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

  Dear Eduard ,
I would  that you continue to pray for your   mate/help meet   before God ,  He knows you need and loneliness  .
He will in the right time and way , and you will just know  it ..
The Lord sent me my Husband of 28 years now  , whom is a true  man after Gods own heart ....  I love him more now, than I did when we first met  , it grew into a bond that only death will separate   :HeartThrob:
When God answers or sends   , you KNOW  , no matter what,  it will   work  out for the good   for all involved , not just the one .
God is love   , always :HeartThrob:

Sad but true, Jer 17:9  The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt: who can know it?
It's the nature of carnal man, which can only be won over through Jesus Christ.  :2c:

Before that statement in Jeremiah 17;7 " Blessed is the man who trust in the Yahweh, to who Yahweh is his ground of confidence."

Then continuing on down Jeremiah 17;12
" A throne of glory, exalted from the beginning, has been the place of our sanctuary."

Seems to show recognition of God's plan and provision, in spite of our desperately wicked nature, is the basis for confidence in this temporary life in which we are currently living.
