It has served us well, this myth of Christ!!!!

Hi there everyone,

I was starting to read a fictional book on knights and such and at the beginning it had a saying wrongly attributed to Benedict VI but i have found out it was Leo X.
He was supposed to have quoted the saying in the title.
What does anybody think that he meant by that? What myth?

This "myth" quote actually comes from the English playwright John Bale in his satirical work:"The Pageant of Popes" End of story, any researcher who uses this quote as "proof" is either lying or badly misinformed!

Although the quote is commonly attributed without source documentation to Pope Leo X, it is believed to have originated in a satirical piece by a Protestant controversialist named John Bale (1495-1563) titled "The Pageant of the Popes" (source). Bale wrote:

That movie is so prophetic it's almost like Jesus directed the movie.

e.g The attack on the city of zion at the end. In revelation the armies of gog and magog surround jerusalem and aim to destroy it, but Jesus destroy's them.

On another level it can mean the attack of the antichrist armies at Jerusalem but Jesus [Neo] Saves the city.

I like the idea that everyone is a potential agent in the matrix, because they are part of the system. This is also scriptural, for everyone who does not follow Jesus is a potential agent of the devil and the only way to free them is to unplug them from the system [world], where they'r real home in heaven awaits them.

I'm glad there are christians on this site who are not affraid of non christian films and people.  :thumbsup:

I must admit I always enjoyred the symbolism in the Matrix.

Another movie I truly enjoy is The Apostle.  I love seeing them show an imperfect man who loves the Lord.  I just adore that movie.

I don't know if i can agree anymore with that phrase, 'he who doesn't follow Jesus, if of the devil'!   Just because a person says that they follow Jesus or are a christian, doesn't mean that they are an agent of the devil.  If a person follows the Christ mind/nature within, they are with Christ.  What is it to just proclaim 'oh yeah i am a christian but not have the Christ mind within.

By the way The Matrix is my favourite film.  I adore it.  My best part is when Neo is rescued from his pod and he asks 'Am i dead?' and Morpheous says 'Far from it!'  I hope that's what God says to me when i die!
