Someone recently asked me this question, and I haven't yet answered, because I need time to consider it in detail.
"If Jesus was without sin HOW COULD he have died?"
If anyone has time - how would you answer this?
Thank you.
John 6:55-58
1 Corinthians 15:12-25
Galatians 4:4-7
Jesus is the first of the next age: was born of spirit, but came in the flesh, as an example of what we will become.
His death was to pay the price as a pure sacrifice for all.
Hebrews 9:23-28 talks about that.
He did not die because of sin that He had committed but for the sin of mankind.

Hi Ross.
The question this person asked was: 'how' could a sinless man die. (Since only the soul that sins dies).
Death couldn't hold Jesus in it's grasp (we are told), but how did it have: 'any' power over him at all in the first place.
...These are the sorts of questions this person is asking.
I still have not had time to answer the person who asked me this question (as I want to do them proper justice in ensuring I know what I am talking about first).
I like when people ask sincere questions.
Right now; I'm considering that ALL creation (which would include Jesus) was subject to decay and death.
Jesus was in a human/flesh body - tasting of our humanity.
"Being found in flesh - humbles Himself, becoming obedient unto death"... Phil 2:8
Thus; I suppose that Jesus (being in a human body) would HAVE to die...
Yet: "(God raised (Christ) up), having loosed the pains of the death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it". Acts 2:24.
And then I am reminded of this:-
No-one takes (My life) from Me, but I lay it down of myself; authority I have to lay it down, and authority I have again to take it; this command I received from my Father.' John 10:18
Now I MYSELF am wondering how long Jesus was dead?!
How long 'did' death 'hold' Him? - And how does that work???
Do you believe He was dead a literal: '3 days'?
Or... Just as long as He felt like? (Since He is God and has the power to take up His life again whenever He desires).
Could anyone add anything?
:HeartThrob:
The day of atonement requires a pure high priest and a spotless lamb.
Isaiah 53 talks about His position and what was to happen to him.
Isaiah 54 includes the reaction of God to the brief cut off of Christ as he was bearing the sin of the world.
Jesus did come in the flesh, but of spiritual conception as the first born for the next phase of the forecoming age.
All have sinned when in the flesh, before being born. Seems to suggest that Christ was recognised as a sinner without actually committing a sin.
Death didn't have power over him, he gave himself to death and was resurrected to point out that not even death was greater than him.
Galatians 1:3,4 [amplified] " Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself as a sacrifice to atone for our sins so that He might rescue us from the present evil age, in accordance with the will and purpose and plan of our God and Father. "
2 Corinthians 5:15 " Having judged this- that one died for all, hence they all died:
and He died on behalf of all in order that they who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. "
Corinthians 5:21 " Him who knew no sin He made to be singing on our behalf so that we might become God's righteous in Him. "
Christ, IMO, was literally dead physically for 3 days.
I love how you challenge us all . I seek the truth also and fail in handling the truth often, it is what causes offense, nothing can handle the truth, the WORD OF GOD except the Spirit of TRUTH.
To understand the Word of God[truth], rely on the Spirit of God.[truth] To me this is what separates the Holy from the profane.
Can you kill/CORRUPT the WORD OF GOD ? Yes the letter of the law kills , to me it means that any other spirit joined to the WORD of truth corrupts it. causing error /sin
but the Spirit of truth gives it life
The name Jesus Christ was where the fulness of all time was given to reveal GODS hidden MERCY to all mankind. , truth and grace come only though Our Lord Jesus Christ, a name under heaven by which we must ALL be saved, by and though and for and with and because of.
Given to the world , the temporary realm where it is killed, corrupted, defiled and misused.
All exposing the intent of the heart. the heart is the throne and what rules it.
Each heart is given the opportunity to be healed by the WORD of truth and changed by the Spirit of truth.
know it all's cause death is the result of sin
BUT LOVE CANNOT DIE LOVE IS as strong as death
NOG
Wear me as a signet ring on your heart, as a ring on your hand. Love is as overpowering as death. Devotion is as unyielding as the grave. Love?s flames are flames of fire, flames that come from Yah.
For me understanding the love of God is the true mystery released in the power of God's love for His Son,[first is JESUS CHRIST making many sons of GOD still to this day and dying in the LOVE OF GOD is the better resurrection
The process that was always from the beginning and will be to the end without interruption, since the temporal world come into being
Gods wrath is for a moment [for me it is this temporal world, realm [of thick and black darkness] exposed to all manner of evil forces
but HIS Mercy endures forever.
When death being the last enemy will be done away with completely.
Because GODS LOVE IS TRUTH and nothing can change that.
It is the constant in the world of changes. We cling to that TRUTH Just as Jesus example on the cross was giving for our benefit , we also cling to our cross .
Paul said this and it means so very much to me now more than ever ,he was a murderer in ignorance changed by the grace of God with his encounter with Jesus Christ, the light of the world
Paul's Message by the Spirit's Power !
1When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.
2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit?s power, 5so that your faith would not rest on men?s wisdom, but on God?s power.
We Love God because HE HAS always LOVED US [Proverbs 8 ] we stay close in the WORD of truth by His power of Truth [Spirit of love] and LIVE.

Nice one Ross.
I'd add to that, that the devil
(evil) has the 'power' of fear of death
(destruction) (since hate/evi/destruction (by very nature) cannot create). Whereas; Love
is creative, and God
is love, and so it would certainly be: '
impossible' for death to hold God
(Life) in it's power... Absolutely impossible... :gimmefive:

Excellent! Yes! - He paid the: 'debt' on mankind's behalf, though He Himself with without sin.

I like people who ask serious/legit/honest questions. Blind acceptance of anything isn't wise
(especially in this current era).
Have no idea how those lines got in there?

I just wanted to share this too about Our Lord JESUS CHRIST.
HE come to give us HIS WORD and living hope and gifts, to all of us who were dead to God because there was no faith and without faith, we cannot please God
this Joy in our LORD JESUS CHRIST is a gift and lively hope though faith in His accomplishment and our free gift of eternal life though His and the FATHERS amazing grace towards us all.
We were dead in sin, and had no hope JESUS took the sins of the whole world and nailed them to His cross , ONCE for all time .. that we could live and also find great joy in His working salvation for us.
It is the Door to the sheepfold that was shut and is now open for all whom will come to the end of themselves and lay it at JESUS FEET .and then take up our cross and follow Him wherever He goes.
Great post rosered
Bless you always with more of HIM.
John 15 No Greater Love
9As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love. 10If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father?s commandments and remain in His love. 11I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
12This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
Jesus laid down His life only to take it back up again to open heaven for us whom will love with the same passion, we could have died in our sins not knowing the outcome of eternal life
living in fear of the unknown, But Gods will was to let us know it is not HIS WILL that any should perish , but come to repentance now and be saved :HeartThrob:
1 Peter 1:10-12
Concerning this salvation, the prophets who foretold the grace to come to you searched and investigated carefully, / trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.
/ It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, when they foretold the things now announced by those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.
in our own weaknesses, whatever it maybe HE ALONE is our strength
.Waiting on God
1For the choirmaster. According to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. In God alone my soul finds rest; my salvation comes from Him. 2He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress; I will never be shaken. 3How long will you threaten a man? Will all of you throw him down like a leaning wall or a tottering fence? ?
Isaiah 26:4
Trust in the LORD forever, because GOD the LORD is the Rock eternal.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Matthew 7:24-25
Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. / The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock.

:Chinscratch: If he had not been executed, would he have lived on..? Or, was his pre-resurrection body under entropy? Which currently rules all matter, all of earth. Entropy come about because God iS life and - is perfect - Mt.5:48, so straying in any way in thought, word or deed, would be, and result in imperfection, which is also entropy - a slow gehenna not put out.. the worm that doesn?t quit - thus without God?s Great Plan of Salvation/Rescue, all would perish. Jesus to eviLdoers? ?Fear God who cAn destroy body and psyche/being/soul(?) in gehenna! He cAn, but he doesn?t!
Was Jesus, at first advent, under the law of entropy? Is that law the same as the law of sin - hamartia - missing the mark - and death? We know he was totally ? without sin. Did he have some body dna from Mary? :dunno2: Interesting question!

Questions that should be asked Marie.
Great questions.
Due to Adams' curse; all flesh was subject to decay, but with God all things are possible and so it's not possible to put any limitation on Him.
