The background is that lately ive been having a really horrible time, im not going to go into it, its hard for me to say how depressed and what a difficult time ive been having lately and (God knows how) ive managed to hide it well and still function.

There are not many words to describe what your going through.  I have been at the bottom, and yeah boy, it's some kind of work to crawl out, but as alone as you might feel,  God is right there.  If your anything like me you will  SCREAM.   "WELL, HEAVENLY FATHER, IF YOUR RIGHT HEAR WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR, IF YOUR SO POWERFUL, GET ME OUT OF THIS"

You know what he'll say?    "How the heck do you think you got this far?"

Night.   :icon_king:

It gets me like that too Paul.  I try to be patient and longsuffering and then a few weeks into the misery Im like "Ok come on heeeellllpppp!!! Thats enough!"

I still dont feel like ive really learned my lesson though, but im getting there.

It is simple, we are all a work in progress, dust yourself off,  keep going.  :)

Paul...I love you.  I just thought id let you know.

Dear friend,

try to thank God for the problems, for all of them, including the panic attacks. If you do that, you humble yourself because you will cease to oppose God and to blame HIM for the evil time you are experiencing. You don't have to put on a show or to display maginificent gratefulness, just learn to accept everything that gets thrown at you. You know, it had to get past your Father who is protecting you, so if it got past Him and you must handle it by His decree, it must have a purpose somehow.

At least that's what I tend to think with my own issues (schizophrenia). I don't think we're required to be super performers, we can lay off a little and tend to ourselves. We don't have to perform great feats of work. Perseverance is something else. Just keep God, praise Him a lot ... God actually inhabits our praises, and the praises help us remembering God like He really is. This is a knowledge which we tend to forget in times of intense suffering, but it remains true. And by thanking God for your problems and by praising Him, we keep that knowledge intact and it will strengthen us in time.

And finally, don't do all of this alone. Do you have christian friends? Do you have a good pastor? UR people are sometimes very insular and trying to be self sufficient, but this really isn't the biblical model for our life. As a christian you have the right to ask your brothers to take part of your load on their shoulders too.

Hi again Paul, i loved this post, made a lot of sense to me and your right about praising God.
Sadly i dont have Christians friends accept on here really...Good Christians are hard to find!  Thank for caring Paul, but i'll be fine.

Cardinal

:cloud9: Marc, don't think you are the only one who only has Christian friends on here. When you start sharing the TRUTH of His Word, you find out real quick who your true friends are. This board is predominantly "runaway" Christians, who He has separated unto Himself for His purposes and His seasons, for such a time as this.

By the grace of God and His use of His servant Gary Amirault, we have a place here to meet in the wilderness, a city (multiple habitations of HIM, made without hands) here, that you were led to also by the Spirit of the Lord. Blessings.....

Oh i could well believe that Card.
In time im going to make up some tracts of my own and leave them all over the place, im not going to preach to anyone though...Universal salvation is a message only the truly graceful and humble and...loving will be able to accept...Some people are very content thinking God will burn us all forever.  Ive never had many friends anyway im used to it, and now that i know my atheist and agnostic buddies are not going to hell, i feel i can help them now as well to find Jesus and admire God for what he has done and tell them the 'good news'.
