I just want to die temporarily so I can ask God what the truth is

I'm not sure I can take the uncertainty I feel anymore. Who am I to know what love is, what justice is, more than the Church? I'm paralysed by confusion and feel abandoned by God- how am I supposed to know what the truth is? What if ET is true and I'm paving my own way to unending Hell, as well as the people I know and care about? I can never stay committed to a viewpoint for very long, but I feel that Universalism is too beautiful for me to sincerely confess and repent without me being a hypocrite and insincere in my repentance. I can do nothing in life, too fearful to leave the house or go to Church in case the intrusive thoughts of people I see going to Hell come back, but if Hell is real in a traditional sense, I'm going there anyway for not believing the truth, so what is another complete mental breakdown in this life compared to an eternity separated from God? I just want to die, to throw myself into God's arms and sob. I want to know what truth is. I'm so scared and there is no way for me to know in this life if my fears are founded or not.

Is there a verse which says believe in hell or you will perish.. or go to hell?

If people / the church is wrong about that.. what else are they wrong about?

Here's one thing you can know for sure.  All else can grow from there.

Jesus died and rose again for our sins and salvation.  Believe on Him as Savior, ask Him to come into your life and save and forgive you.    Then that's settled.

You can walk out the rest of your questions over time knowing that He is with you and that you are safe within His arms.  No matter what other things you may or may not find out, follow Him, trust Him, and know that we will have every answer He wants us to have, in His timing.
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Here's the thing- I *don't* know that the church is wrong about that. And, coming from a Catholic background, I have to point out that just because something isn't explicitly stated in the Bible as being a sin, doesn't mean that it is not a sin. Arguments from silence like that are particularly unconvincing when one doesn't even subscribe to sola scriptura in the first place. That's probably the root of a lot of my issues.

This is a horrible place to be in but it is temporary , I hope you can take some comfort in that .

I believe ''hell'' is a ''frame of mind''  that causes   complete torment  in our souls  , it is  unable to understand or know God and it is real   to me , it is as some    expressed in as  being ''cut off ' from God and just experiencing the depths of satan /or opposing & adversarial  lies flooding the mind  ,    May the mind of Christ come and rebuke those  bad thoughts .

I believe the imagination   goes wild with overthinking  and  stressing over  every ''little '' thing .
just let it go and Give it to God , rest in hope and Him for a day   without any   outside interferences  , let Him comfort you.  trust that He will

God love and bless you always ........
Jesus is the reward  !!

It seems to me, logical, if I were to believe in a hell, that it has to be one that fits His character, and also attributes.. So it would have to be unconsciousness until "the judgment" and then annihilation, and only those totally unredeemable would be there..

The rest of mankind He reaching before their death, if even at the last moment! And why not? I ask.

"With God nothing is impossible."

I did once believe the tares/wild weeds "planted by an enemy" to be perhaps literal.. (But!) that idea seems to always have some very bad fruit! Which if it were true, only God would know a tare from the wheat! NoT other humans!

But.. "God is love" - is He able to not love any? I mean, even Hitler - thought - he was doing something 'good'..! And only God, and perhaps the adversary, knows what was in his life that shaped him..

I outgrew that very brief time of wondering if tares actually came from the adversary.. I surely have never seen it in the scripture.. And Jesus said believing would cause our joy to be full.. so the whole idea of God only being partially successful.. like something out of His control occurred.. doesn't seem to fit that state of joy being full.. I mean full means not much room for much else.. doesn't it? :gsmile:

...what I mean is, whatever He does, and whatever the end result, it has to be the right thing doesn't it?
