Title: I fell for a hoax
Post by: Shadow on December 19, 2009, 02:10:39 PM
There are a number of christian sites on the web that are truly depressing such as City Data, but I found one that even CARM doesn't hold a candle to, when I was doing an online search for something

http://www.landoverbaptist.net/?

Here is one of their threads on universalism

People who don't believe in hell are mean, cruel, and evil! (http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=21875&highlight=universalism)

How ironic that we are the ones that are classified as monsters   :dontknow: :omg:

Update - I got banned without a reason and without even posting anything :icon_flower:

It turns out the whole site is a parody  :mblush: :mblush:

The scary thing is I've seen fundies on the net that think like them, so I thought it was the real thing at first, I feel like such a fool for being taken in :mblush:

I just took a look at it and I was going to say that, too.  Those people aren't Christians--they are mocking Christianity.  "Guaranteeing salvation since 1620"

What a bunch of religious hogwash some of these sites are, how far out can some of these places get anyway?

Ever read anything about what Fred Phelps
preaches?

Yes, I found out about the Phelps at the beginning of last year, I did not however expect to find that that's what orthodox christianity looks like, once it's stripped of all it's disguises and lies

Which is why I thought the site was genuine at first, as I've seen that type of mindset prevalent in many christian sites and forums
