[This article was adapted by what I typed to my friend Levnamiswann. They asked me how to know if they are saved. I have a post about that where it?s my specific response, thus, I made this response as an answer to the question in general]

So... you want to know if you are saved or not? Well, we can determine that through the Bible. Because it?s only Jesus that saves us. Only His Holy Blood is sufficient to wash away our sins and bring us to Heaven. Only the Lord Christ can save us from sin, and He will.

In terms of intelligence, the only wisdom I get is from the Bible. Without the Lord, who is love, I am nothing, I gain nothing.

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Now, to determine whether you are saved biblically, it?s quite simple. If you have faith alone in Jxsus, even by the smallest amout, a mustard seed of faith, then you are permanently saved. You cannot lose your salvation. The Holy Ghost will dwell inside of your permanently, like a temple. And eventually, all people will gain this salvation.

Eph. 1:10, 11 Jesus came "that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times he might gather together in one ALL THINGS in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works ALL THINGS according to the counsel of His will."

Faith alone means we only trust in Christ. He is the only way to Heaven, the One True God. It also means we don?t trust in any of our works. Donating to charity, obeying the commandments, following the law, like 1 Cor 13 above mentions, someone could give away all their belongings to the poor, but without love, it?s meaningless. All those works are pointless for salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Truly, the only way to be saved is to believe in Christ. You recognize that you have sin, which is the truth. I also have sin. I have done many wrongdoings in the past before. None of my own works save me. I have brought people to God and that does not save me. It is good to turn people to the Lord, but it does not save us.

Romans 4:5 And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,

Thus, if you believe in Jxsus with faith alone, you are permanently saved. Even with the faith like a child, even the smallest amount is enough. Because it?s a gift, all we need to do is accept it through faith. That?s the Lord?s mercy.

And sometimes, even when we are saved, we may have doubt or not have the assurance of salvation. Certainly, I have felt that, even though I am saved. No matter how much we doubt, or stumble, or fall, the Lord upholds us. When the Holy Ghost dwells inside a person, that?s a permanent seal.

Luke 23:33-34 And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. 34 And Jesus said, ?Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Therefore, the sins of the whole world will be washed away. Everyone will eventually become believers in Christ and all people will stay in Heaven, paradise, with no more pain and no more suffering.

2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Rom. 11:36 "Of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen"

Thus, to answer the question ?Am I Saved??. If you believe in Jesus, you are saved. If you have faith alone in Christ, you are saved. Because the name Jesus represents the salvation God has given to the whole world. Eventually, all people will accept that gift.

John 3:35 "The Father loves the Son and has given ALL THINGS into His hands."

The Holy Spirit inside of us is proof that we are saved, because everyone who is saved is made a temple of the Lord, as God Himself is in us as the Holy Ghost. Therefore, everyone will be counted as righteous with the Spirit of Righteousness in them. Everybody will be washed from death and given the Spirit of Permanent Life.

God is a Spirit, and He is love, and eventually, He will dwell inside all people my friends.

Col. 1:19, 21, 22 "God was pleased to have all fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself ALL THINGS on earth or in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation."

LAMENTATIONS 3:31-33 For men are not cast off by the Lord forever. Though he may punish cruelly, yet he will have compassion in the fullness of his love; he does not willingly afflict or punish any mortal man.

I don?t know if I?m saved yet because I have a lot of unforgiveness in my heart against people who torture, r**e, and murder children, women, and even men. Yesterday, I?ve learned that 18th Century American universalism was on shaky ground at best. For example, the so-called father of American universalism, Hosea Ballou probably didn?t believe what he preached because he was a high ranking Freemason from a wealthy, well connected family. He was probably a murderer. It gives him telling a farmer they would burn the farmer?s son for being disobedient a whole new, chilling meaning. From what I?ve read and heard about Freemasonry and the highest echelons of all religious institutions is that they?re satanic. The only form of Universalism I believe in now is from the Old and New Testaments and the early church Fathers like Origen and St. Gregory of Nyssa. I have no faith in any man, ultimately, though.

Good post song.  Asha, trusting in Christ as Savior and looking to Him, doesn't mean we're yet perfect in this flesh.  Keep looking to Him, asking for help in weakness and failure, and if truly trusting and believing in Him, His grace is sufficient (saves us and will bring us along into maturity).
The oldest known manuscripts agree with each other 99% of the time.  The scriptures, accurately translated, Spirit revealed - reliable.   Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.  Heb. 12:2

Hi AshaAMitra, good to see you again my friend! Hm... In terms of being saved, it's not about being perfect, but rather, simply belief in Christ. Even I, who am saved, still make mistakes.

Thanks for the information on Freemasonry. Searched up it's connection to Universalism and found this scholarly article:

https://www.jstor.org/stable/23011747
"Freemasonry. It posits that British Freemasonry, although it emerged from a Christian environment, progressively de-Christianized itself in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and increasingly espoused a religious universalism"

For me, it looks like Christian Universalism came first. Then Freemasonry emerges from Christianity, takes the Christian Universalism idea, then de-Christianizes it into "Universalism"

Christian Universalism = Everyone will become believers in Christ and thus everyone will be saved
Universalism = Everyone will be saved.

The fundamental problem with "Universalism" itself is... saved from what? Because sin is any disobedience from God. In order to recognize sin, one must recognize the existence of God. Which God? Well, the only God that can actually remove sin is the LORD God through Christ.

Amen. Way I see it, Faith alone in Christ = free gift of salvation. Good works for Christ after salvation = rewards from discipleship.

John 13:10 Jesus answered, ?Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.? (NIV)

Whole body is clean = Holy Spirit dwells inside them, which they gained by faith alone in Christ.
Wash their feet = Already saved Christian commits sin, they're body is clean (aka saved), yet feet are dirty.
