How should we worship, or pray in Spirit and in truth?
What should we picture when praying to the Father? Should we visualize the name of JESUS... or YAHWEH/JEHOVAH as in the O.T. and come to the Father in Jesus name? Or should we visualize all white?
"In truth" for some would mean the truth of God's word (John 17: 17).
While we all know we shouldn't worship God in an idolatrous manner;
Acts 17:29 (New International Version, ©2010)
29 "Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill.
Would any of you define more of what worshipping God in Spirit really is? That we may not project our limited and carnal perceptions of Him in our prayer life?
I personally like using Christian songs too to enliven my spirit... but aside from that?

Hi Paolo
TRUE worship is to BOW DOWN [That is Our soul being Subject to the LIFE and Spirit HE IS ]
Us In HIM- HIM in US creating ONE TRUE BODY :icon_flower:
1Cr 14:25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on [his] face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.
Intrestingly to worship indicates the Kissing of the hand - Normal the right -
To Kiss mean to put togther [ what is RIGHT]
Pro 24:26 [Every man] shall kiss [his] lips that giveth a right answer

Many forms of true worship, but if you approach God without expecting anything in return, other than to spend time with him, then you cannot go far wrong.
Joh 6:63 the spirit it is that is giving life; the flesh doth not profit anything; the sayings that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life;
Worshiping in Spirit and Truth is KNOWING and BEING KNOWN.
Gal 4:8 But then, indeed, not having known God, ye were in servitude to those not by nature gods,
Gal 4:9 and now, having known God--and rather being known by God--how turn ye again unto the weak and poor elements to which anew ye desire to be in servitude?
Peace and Love Through Jesus
It's strange at about what I'm about to write, because I had similar questions up to about 2 years ago. I had participated in some forums, and sent emails to some people that had web-sites asking them questions.
When I began to come out of the Babylonian system, all those entrenched dogmas began to fade. After all, I had been a Christian for almost 1/2 century, but I was beginning to understand in my spiritual life that "Things were not as they appear".
First priority, earnestly seek God. If you are His chosen elect, He will direct you to all truth (See John chapter 14)
Secondly, pray for the "spirit of wisdom of revelation". "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him . . .The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; " Ephesian 1:17-18.
Thirdly, we must have the mind of Christ, and this is only accomplished by being obedient to Romans 12: 1-2, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Fourthly , we need to understand the deep meaning when Jesus said in John 6:63, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
When I had asked my question similar to yours, the reply was similar to what I am responding to you now. Quite frankly, I was angered at the response. Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit began to lead me into greater truths.
There's no "Easy Button", I've looked for it everwhere. Hebrews 11:6 tells us "But without faith it is impossible to please him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." You will find out that God "will have all men to be saved" plus much MUCH more - Praise His Name!

...and Jehovah is seen in the tent, in a pillar of a cloud; and the pillar of the cloud standeth at the opening of the tent.
