JESUS  PROVED THIS FACT  ON THE CROSS  , forgive them Father for they know not what they do   ,being Spiritual rules over the flesh     !!!  the flesh was made for the cross ,   when we take up our cross  , for this cause   we are forgiving    those as we are forgiven    by the POWER OF JESUS CHRIST SPIRIT   WITHIN YOU ...

sinners are  earthly ,sensual and devilish full of vexation the state of being annoyed, frustrated, or worried:ANGRY against the SPIRIT OF LOVE WHICH IS GOD .....

A Call to Holiness
14 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.

15See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled; 16that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal....

Deuteronomy 29:18
Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God to go and worship the gods of those nations; make sure there is no root among you that produces such bitter poison.

1Corh 13

4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.

5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchyor fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

8 Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end].

As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].

9 For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect), and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect).

10 But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete andimperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded).

the  LIVING   THE  TRUTH IN LOVE   [MATT5 ]

14 Then we will no longer be ·babies [children]. We will not be tossed about like a ship that the waves carry one way and then another. We will not be ·influenced by every new teaching [L carried along by every wind of (false) teaching] we hear from people who are trying to ·fool [trick] us.

They ·make plans [scheme] and try any kind of trick to fool people into following ·the wrong path [error; false teaching].

15 ·No! [Instead; Rather] ·Speaking [or Living out; Practicing] the truth with love, we will grow up in every way into Christ, who is the head.

16 ·The whole body depends on Christ, and [ ...through/by whom] all the parts of the body are joined and held together. Each ·part [supporting joint/ligament] ·does its own work [performs its function] to make the whole body grow and ·be strong with [to build itself up in] love.

SIN  cannot exist   when LOVE  RULES AND REIGNS IN THE HEARTS IN PERFECT LOVE    [GOD BEING ALL IN ALL]   FIRST IN YOU AND AS THIS SPREADS TO OTHERS HEARTS  SEEING IT WORKING IN TRUTH !!

No  SIN  record  is kept when forgiving   as being forgiven   works   in us   AS TRUTH
GODS DESIRE TO SAVE   EVERYONE   BECAUSE LOVE HAS NO END          .. :HeartThrob:
Jesus is the reward  !!

Hi rosered,

That was my starting point this morning in my bicycle riding meditation to work.  The spiritual man understands the carnal man, but the carnal man does not understand the spiritual.

"To be spiritually minded is life and peace"...........I am sure that we all have family and friends who do not get spirituality at all, I sure do.  When debating atheists on spiritual matters, it is no wonder they don't get it.  They don't know that they are spiritual, and often deny that there is any such thing as spiritual.

Yet our war is not with others, it is with our own carnal man.  The manifestation of the carnal man comes out in strife, warring, struggle for it's own way.  Our war is also with principalities and powers that push us toward the carnal.

Your use of 1 Corinthians 13 and Ephesians 4 fit together outstanding for the war between the three.......spiritual, carnal, and principalities.

Love never fails, and learning to speak the truth in love to ourselves always brings us back to the head, which is Christ.........if it does not, there is a principality involved that needs eradicating!   All of this wrestling brings us back to the place of joy and every good fruit in the spirit.  Our resting place is Christ within(above, through, and in), and manifests in love.

I saw this in Jesus Christ being punished in agony   to DEATH   and said ,   Father forgive  them ,for they do not know what they are doing.

Putting the Light of the world out is symbolic      of darkness  being ignorance filling the whole land !

1 John 2 ;11  But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness.

They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.

and Stephen  seeing heaven opened to Him    receiving    him

Stephen Is Killed
54 When the leaders heard this, they became furious [ in their hearts]. They were so mad they were ·grinding [gnashing] their teeth at Stephen.

55 But Stephen was full of the Holy Spirit.

He looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at God's right ·side [or hand;  the place of highest honor beside a king].

56 He said, "Look! I see heaven open and the Son of Man [ a title for the Messiah; Dan. 7:13–14] standing at God's right ·side [or hand]." [ Normally portrayed as "sitting" at God's right side (Ps. 110:1), Jesus is standing either to give testimony to Stephen's faithfulness, or to welcome him into God's presence.]

57 Then they shouted loudly and covered their ears and all ·ran [rushed together; or rushed with one intent] at Stephen.

58 They ·took [dragged] him out of the city and began to ·throw stones at him to kill [stone] him [ the customary way to execute a criminal].

And ·those who told lies against Stephen [or his accusers; those who provided testimony;  the witnesses] left their coats ·with [ at the feet of] a young man named Saul [ later known as Paul].

59 While they were ·throwing stones [stoning him], Stephen ·prayed [ called out],

"Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

60 He fell on his knees and cried in a loud voice, "Lord, do not hold this sin against them."

After Stephen said this, he ·died [ fell asleep;  for believers death is temporary, like sleep].

Stephens Cross   was   for the    cause of forgiveness   against others   , JUST LIKE JESUS  PROVED   TRUTH  ,  The cross   is all about dying to self  serving  sin   and

serving the LORD  for the sake of others   sins       When Love is  that strong     even death cannot hold   the SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD  down

If I be  LIFTED UP      JOHN 12

31"Now judgment is upon this world;

now the ruler of this world will be cast out.

32"And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself."

33But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die....

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD  ,   TO SHINE  IN HIS BRIGHTNESS   AND COMING  ,    that no darkness covers the land .....
Jesus is the reward  !!

Dear brother in Christ  ed ,
thank you for the  reply !! AMEN!!!

It is true the carnal man knows nothing of the Spirit !!
Jesus always said ,,''tell no man ''
they would hinder the cause    , the beast is full of darkness and  gnaws his tongue for pain

I love the LIGHT OF CHRIST !!   I  am in tears over this  , so humbling  to know  and  understand it
finally     it seems that measure of  faith  the Lord promised    as the free gift    of Gods grace though His Son    ,  has born fruit of the Spirit  ,
because for    years all I could ever say  is ,  Jesus  is  perfect and God has a plan and I  do not know    what it is,,, but trust Him it will be perfect

GOD KNOWS !!
Blessings     always in the loving Spiritual Father of all ..

Yes.  :HeartThrob:
I believe, Rose, that it is not loving others more than ourselves, but equal to, as we are all one. (Love each other as you love yourselves.) I know that recently in my own personal life He has shown me that I must truly love and forgive myself before I can truly and fully love and forgive others. (He, of course, helps us in this where we don't believe there is hope. With God all things are possible.)

Thank you for sharing your epiphany.  :HeartThrob:

If God is love, then we must become love to live in His kingdom.  :cloud9:
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

YHVH = Behold the Nail, Behold the Hand = Jesus

Just some thoughts on this beautiful epiphany of forgiveness.

12 So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— 13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

Forgiveness is the opening flower of love. Once the flower begins to open, other things begin to be manifest, but they are all in the bud, before it is seen as it is when opened. There is no separation of these things. They are all one, but they are descriptive of various elements of love.

Forgiveness towards us (ultimately from God but also received through others) overcame the sin nature in us. We saw God within and we saw Him as forgiveness- Christ crucifed. In that instant the old man was slain. His body is "the body of death" and his worm is the "body of the sins of the flesh".

If we do by the Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh- we live.

What does this mean? Paul explains in in Romans 7. We start out agreeing with God that the law is good. We end up realizing we(no one) cannot be justified by the law- because we cannot keep it.

We are then given the revelation, epiphany, dawn, seed, of Christ crucified- and we see God as forgiveness- a pure introduction to the love of God.

This seed, planted in us, creates a new person- a new creation, Christ in you the hope of glory.

We continue to agree with God that the law is good but there is now no longer any condemnation because we see that God is love and He has forgiven us "in Christ" and by "Christ in you".

From this point on neither circumscision nor uncircumscision means anything. Only the new creation has meaning and the new creation is living within a higher law(the highest)- love. This new creation is now sowing the seed of Christ crucified- God as forgiveness and love. Spreading the epiphany, sowing the seed, illuminating the revelation for those walking in darkness- a lamp upon the lampstand unless.....

we sow to the flesh, for instance....

"Beware lest any root of bitterness springs up among you by which many will be defiled....."

or

"13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. 18 And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace."

or

"To be carnally minded is death, to be spiritually minded is life and peace"

Notice, all James says, really, that can be done about it is DO NOT BE ARROGANT AND LIE AGAINST THE TRUTH. Why?

Because Christ crucified is the epiphany, the revlation, the life. "If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.

This cleansing is both imputed and imparted in that forgiveness is GRACE(unmerited favor) and grace is the transmission of the power to walk in life.

Confess your faults one to another. Forgive one another. Love one another. Forbear one another.

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,

Back to Romans 7 and 8

1 Agree with God that the law is good.

2 Realise I cannot keep the law

3 Perceive Christ crucified

4 Recieve forgiveness,

5 Realize the higher law is love, which you have entered because of forgiveness

6 Stay humble before God and walk in the spirit.

Do not dig up that which God has slain and buried for you. Live in the new creation, embracing and spreading forgiveness, abide in the honesty of humility, love will grow automatically because the Spirit assists the meek, transforming them into sons of God.

Whenever the light shines upon us and we see ourselves sewing to the flesh.....

All we need do is return to the epiphany. Christ crucified. The forgiven are humble because they know where the love comes from. Where there is much forgiven there is much love- wow, what a three dimensional saying that is.. How much have we been forgiven?

Oh if only we knew how much we have been forgiven. Then our love would be as an ocean, and the world around us as the shore rejoicing in the sound and the beauty of the waves.

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; 2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: 6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.(Christ cricified-"Father forgive them")

7 Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you have heard. 8 On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true Light is already shining.(GLORY!) 9 The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now. 10 The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him.
The Logos is complete, but it is not completely understood. http://www.hell-is-a-myth.webs.com/

John , thanks for adding to this  message of forgivenss

I could not help think of the woman  LOVING much because she was forgiven much

Luke 7 41 Jesus said, "Two people owed money to ·the same banker [ a certain moneylender/creditor]. One owed five hundred ·coins [ denarii;  a denarius was equal to a day's wage for a laborer] and the other owed fifty.

42 They had no money to pay what they owed, but ·the banker [L he] ·told both of them they did not have to pay him [L forgave both (debts)]. Which person [L therefore] will love ·the banker [L him] more?"

43 Simon answered, "I ·think [suppose] it would be the one ·who owed him the most money [ for whom he forgave the larger]."

Jesus said to Simon, "You are right."

44 Then Jesus turned toward the woman and said to Simon, "Do you see this woman? When I came into your house, you gave me no water for my feet, but she ·washed [wet; drenched] my feet with her tears and ·dried [wiped] them with her hair.

45 You gave me no kiss of greeting, but she has ·been [not stopped] kissing my feet since I came in.

46 You did not ·put oil on [anoint] my head, but she ·poured perfume on my feet [has anointed my feet with perfume].

47 [L Therefore] I tell you that her many sins are forgiven, ·so [that is why] she showed great love. But the person who is forgiven only a little will love only a little."

48 Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven."

49 The people ·sitting at the table [L reclining together; 7:36] began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?"

50 Jesus said to the woman, "·Because you believed, you are saved from your sins [ Your faith has saved you]. Go in peace."

I agree w that the law makes us aware of our lack and need ,  being good    for us   to become,  ''spiritually aware ''

That the Spirit of God though Christ is  EXACTLY what is needed to fill the void     and deadness within , the dark empty   tomb of the heart  , that nothing but the Light of Christ can   complete
forgiving is a sure sign of loving in the right way ,,,  that pleases God

the less you need to be forgiven when you have Christ whom is sinless    and the pure source of the power to overcome , the  CROSS being the  signpost ...  and turning point of     direction that guides  a way that is light and life   by the HOLY SPIRIT WITNESS ...

Our conscience bearing witness   Romans 2 God's Righteous Judgment

...14For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these,

not having the Law, are a law to themselves,

15in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts

alternately accusing or else defending them,
16on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.

Gods blessings  brothers and sisters in Christ ......
