God of TODAY
There is something in man that needs to "lay a hold" of something - you see it all over Christianity. We are always looking at tomorrow -- Tomorrow is your breakthrough, tomorrow God will finally use you, tomorrow you will be blessed, tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow - Christianity has become a TOMORROW Doctrine.
I have some very close friends that are so wrapped up in the 3rd Day Movement that they can't even see that their whole focus is always on TOMORROW.
God is a God of today, if we are always looking for tomorrow we will miss what He wants to do TODAY - may we not miss our visitation because we are looking at tomorrow.
Another group of Christianity lives in the PAST - they cants stop looking at past revivals and past revivalists - everything in today they judge based on yesterday. They reject today because it doesn't look like yesterday
A woman I once knew who had counseled me once said to me "God is in TODAY and the enemy lives in yesterday and tomorrow" anyone who knows about spiritual warfare knows that the enemies territory is when you go to the past and when you hang out in your tomorrow.
Anyways - God is a God of TODAY, why do we continue to throw away our todays for what we might have tomorrow?

Can't tell you how many times I've heard "God is about to" and "We're soon going to see the greatest move" and "we're fixing to experience the biggest revival". But after 20 years of hearing this I finally had to say "fine, but in the meantime - God is alive and well and life goes on."
"Do not say in your heart, "Who will ascend into heaven?"' (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or, "Who will descend into the abyss?"' (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart"
I really do look forward to "the big day" for sure, and read with elation about the past exploits of the church, but all of it should be a present reality...

what good does that do?
People need victory now- power now- Christ in them now.
People need peace now- hope now and rest NOW!
