Seriously though:

Jesus wept.

Have we not one Father? Has not one God created us all?

When your judgements fill the earth the people learn righteousness.

From Him, through Him, and to Him are all things.

Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in the one who declares the ungodly righteous

I've seen that scrip for a long time on your sig Wings, and I've pondered it.  If we make more than a few comments back and forth, I'll split it off to another thread, as I'd like this one to really pile up the "one liners" :)

But quickly, as I've thought about it (I'll also check the context around that verse for my own study), but here's another way to look at (interpret?) that scrip.

"But to the one who does not work,   but believes   in the one  who declares the ungodly righteous..."  (tied into "by grace are you saved through faith [believing], not of works"..?)  Again, I'll do a little more study on it in context, thanks.

Galatians 1:4, who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father.

And who did He rescue? Just us good guys, us christians? No.

  Love them verses sista !!

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.[Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

Rom 3:30   Seeing [it is] one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through   faith.

Rom 3:31   Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law

Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Notice how that contrasts the creation account. Or more accurately the translation of he creation account.
We are told man was created in the image of God. Past tense.
But 4000 years later we read in John, that God is still busy creating. Ongoing action

That's so cool that you say that, I was reading "Exhortations of an Overcomer" last night by  Gwendolyn Riley and she said the same thing - when God said let us make man in Our image, that was just the beginning of an ongoing process that He has continued right up until today and until He becomes all in all. Very cool!

Gen 1 may be the creation of the new man. And the verse that corresponds with that thought.

The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

I agree btw that we are being made into His image.

The 7th day is His rest. We need to enter that rest which is the flesh veil. The 7 th day is the unveiling.

All creation waits with eager longing for the unveiling of the sons of God.

Even though it says to enter His rest Paul also tells us:

You are now SEATED at the right hand of the throne of the Father.

Is that not His rest? This is a great mystery that we were one in Him from the foundation of the world. Did our separation take place at:

The lamb was slain from the foundation of the world.   The heart being pierced in his side the blood spilling was the foundation of the church, when the lamb was slain was that the foundation of the world?

Everything was created by Him and for Him and through Him ( from memory may be off)

When He has subjected everything to Himself than the son shall also be subjected to Him who put all things in subjection under Him then God will be all in all.

That is the same word as wives be subject to husbands. Its the rejoining of the two that were separated.

The two shall become one. This is a great mystery concerning Christ and the church.

The wife returns to husband. Eve to Adam. Creation to the Lamb.

Now the church is His body. The fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Is that enough one liners? ;)

This is what I find so awesome about our God, that by misinformation (someone else's or our own understanding) we are led astray from what He wants us to understand (that being Himself) and by His power He draws us back to Himself and understand Him even better because of first being misled.

Hope that makes sense to others because this is what I have come to understand. How can darkness comprehend light if it doesn't understand what darkness (ourself) is (what we are before light shows us we were blind (dead)).

Of course, this is my opinion.

Our Father has not stopped creating.
We are in a time of learning for the next age.
We are not going to be singing for eternity.

Is that from the Song of Songs?  You know, I never really got what that book was all about until I read Ferrar Fenton's The Holy Bible in Modern English.  His Old Testament is a wonder, besides a few modernisms, such as his idea that Jonah was picked up by a submarine.  Well, he translated the Song of Songs in DRAMATIC form, and it works!  He realized that it was a wedding-day drama, and translated it as such.  As such, it explodes with meaning!

I can so identify with this verse!
And there is a song that uses this verse:

                  As The Deer
   Verse 1
As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after thee
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship thee

   Verse 2
You're my friend and You are my brother,
Even though you are a king.
I love you more than any other,
     So much more than anything.

   Verse 3
I want You more than gold or silver,
     Only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy Giver,
And the apple of my eye.

   Chorus
You alone are my strength my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship thee

Oh yes... great significance!!! Actually "anna274" has great significance for me

Ps 27:4
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house* of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.

(Really, really became aware of Ps 27:4 in 1959... long story (I'm old!!!) at a time when I was a member IN a small Christian community and a member IN a large Christian denomination... I stress IN as I was never actually a member OF any religious group... you know, IN the world, but not OF the world.

*a translation that I prefer has "presence" instead of "house"

Anna of Luke 2:36-38 is for me an example of Ps 27:4

Luke 2
v 36 ...Anna, was of great age...
v 37 ...who departed not from the temple, but served God... night and day
v 38 ...gave thanks unto the Lord, and spake of Him to ALL them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

Another "one thing" that is very meaningful to me--

Luke 10:42
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

(Luke 10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.)

God has given me the TIME (I'm a retired business instructor); the ENERGY (I'm  healthy... in all ways:  physically, emotionally, socially, psychologically AND spiritually) and the FREEDOM (I don't belong to any group) to sit at His feet and hopefully to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ...Savior of all men.

Sorry for such a long answer....

I love it!

We named our daughter, Anna Grace, after the same biblical character.  The names Anna and Grace both mean: grace.  So I have often called her Gracie Grace. :laughing7:  After having 3 boys, she was a double dose of grace.  She was our last chance to have a sweet girl.

2Cr 12:4 --> the words are known.

2Cr 12:4 --> Makes me think about the custom of (ancient) Jews never to speak/utter God's name.
Only the high priest was allowed to do so when entering the Holies of Holies once a year and sometimes when in deep prayer. But it was absolutely vital nobody could hear him speak the name of God.
So I wonder was the unspeakable word heard in paradise God's name?

Hi Tony    you asked a good question ,and gave a great comparison   , that I dont know ,but  sure can  hope  its so   !

Everything seems to be  paradoxical  to me  at this time

explaining   that is made up of two opposite things and that seems impossible but is actually true or possible         :friendstu:

2 natures  one sinful the other holy
easy to explain ,  yet impossible .
  certain  but  wondering

I am  sure finding this Bible/Gods word  as to which  one is being  instructed  and taught  and is so joyful to look into  further ,

its the holy one of course    and yet the  sinful one trys to   block all  communication   with  others  and stays in doubt and struggle  and  constant judgment.

All as i can see are trying hard  and yet wanting to give up , like a switch  flipping on and off  , light , dark , light , dark

I find it  easy and yet quite hard to  speak about

1 Peter 1:8 (AMP)
Without having seen Him, you love Him; though you do not [even]now see Him, you believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy.

1 Peter 1:8  (MSG)
You never saw Him, yet you love Him,  you still don't see Him, yet you trust Him -- rejoicing and singing.  Because you kept on believing, you'll get what you're looking forward to:  total salvation.

in context
1 Peter 1:6-9  (JB Phillips)
This means tremendous joy to you, I know, even though you are temporarily harassed by all kinds of trials and temptations.  This is no accident -- it happens to prove your faith, which is infinitely more valuable than gold, and gold, as you know, even though it is ultimately perishable, must be purified by fire.  This proving of your faith is planned to bring you praise and honor and glory in the day when Jesus Christ reveals Himself.  And though you have never seen Him, yet I know that you love Him.  At present you trust Him without being able to see Him, and even now He brings you a joy that words cannot express and which has in it a hint of the glories of heaven; and all the time you are receiving the result of your faith in Him ---> salvation.

Psalm 45:17 (GNT)
My song will keep Your name alive forever, and everyone will praise You for all the time to come.

Law's commentary:
It is the duty of the church -- it is, also, her most happy work -- to celebrate the praises of the Lord, and to tell aloud of His love and goodness, of His majesty and glory.  Thus, from age to age, and in earth's utmost range, the Name of JESUS is magnified and glorified.  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and let all peoples prolong the song of thankful praise!

Psalm 119:18

"Lovely light may beam upon us, and wondrous scenes surround; but the gain is none if sightless eyes survey.  By nature we are thus blind; unless God grants sight, we cannot behold the wonders which His law contains.  Let us weary heaven with cries for enlightening grace.  When the command goes forth, Let there be light, there will be light.!

Psalm 48:1
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of His holiness.

LAW's commentary
The beauty of Jerusalem is a picture of the beauty of the Church.  God's favor to it foreshadows His favor to His people in all ages.

...

Great indeed is the Lord.  In His power, His love, His dealings, His every attribute, His greatness is unspeakable.  In every faculty of mind and body, at every period of our time, HIS PRAISE SHOULD BE OUR GLAD EMPLOY.  As Jerusalem stands preeminent above all the abodes of earth in charms of climate and loveliness of local beauty--admiration proclaims Mount Zion to be the joy of the whole earth.

Psalm 48:8
As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish it forever.

LAW's commentary
Many are the promises and predictions that God will uphold His people.  Many realizations are before us to confirm our faith.  We have every assurance that no destruction shall extinguish the true Church. ... While life lasts, He will lead in the way everlasting, and then receive us to be with Him forever.
