Title: Favorite Bible Translation
Post by: Jerm on April 09, 2009, 02:21:42 AM
Just curious, what's your favorite/preferred Bible version?  Or do you used different versions for different purposes? (I know an individual who uses the Message for devotional time, a New Revised Standard Version for study, and either a New King James or New American Study Bible for preaching)

For me it's a love-hate relationship.
I prefer good unbiased translations.
But I use KJV-1611 most of the time because it has Strongs linked to it. (NAS also)
From there I switch to Youngs or Rotherham.

When I want to go very literal: http://www.scripture4all.org/

I'm from Germany, I like the Concordant Literal and Darby, they have both a German equivalent, so Darby is my favourite English online Bible - I like the Darby OT, it's pretty literal though far from the Concordant, they corrupted 1 Timothy 4:10 but otherwise it's a good translation after all I think.
