Title: Facing (and fear of) death
Post by: guest6795 on March 28, 2024, 09:28:47 PM
Hi.  :HeartThrob:

I've been having health issues for a while.
Anyway; without going into great detail; I collapsed four days ago on a neighbours' doorstep.
I could barely breath and they called an ambulance.
They offered me a glass of water as I lay there at one point.

The ambulance came, the ladies were great and took care of me.  On the way into hospital, as I lay at the back of the ambulance, one of the ladies offered me a glass of water.

When I arrived at hospital, my mother offered me a cup of water from a water dispenser (well two cups of water actually)!
The next day at the doctors' office, the young doctor offered me a cup of water too!

(The scripture (Matthew 10:40-42) (where it talks about giving a cup of cold water to someone) is; (of course) what kept coming to my mind).

Anyway... Long story short... I saw a lot of love and it was nice.
This (so-called): 'bad' experience has even re-united family members.

I always wondered how I would behave if I believed I was really dying, as my breathing got more and more restricted and I felt myself: 'going'.
Well... There was no fear at all.  Nothing.  I was only concerened that people might worry about me or miss me and was frustrated that I couldn't tell them that internally all was well.

I'm saying this to encourage people. - Death has no sting for believers.
When I got out of hospital it was a case of:
'Ok let's get on with things', and I thought about Paul of course; who was dragged out of Lystra after being stoned and perceived dead by his attackers (some believe this is when Paul actually died and had his experience: 'in paradise').

"...Having stoned Paul, (they) drew him outside of the city, having supposed him to be dead..." Acts 14:19

When Paul was dragged out, there wasn't any fuss from Paul, - the scripture simply says:-

"...Rising he re-entered the city"... Acts 14:19

When the time comes God gives us what we need.

Keep the faith... It's all worth it.  We get to not be afraid of the: 'king of fears'.
I advise: keep your eyes on the Master Who is Lord of the living and the dead - and to Whom: all live.
The same God here is the same God there.
I hope some find comfort in these words.

:HeartThrob:

I am still ill right now, so I won't be on the forums much for a while no doubt.
Prayers are always welcome. - But let's not forget that God is concerned with our souls (the perpetual part of us), and not the temporal flesh; so if you don't hear from me again; know that my soul is intact, and thank you brothers and sisters.

Love to all!

Romans 8:28
Re-united through this experience seems to be a positive part of the whole incident.
The manner of your reaction is a witness to those around you.
Indeed the no fear of death highlights the fact of our glorious future being instilled firmly in your heart.
Paul set the example- IMO we are taught much through our life in many ways: may the depth of our Father?s love flood your life.

Thank you for the lovely messages.

Issues with gallladder/liver, shock reactions to various foods, no-doubt due to the food being tampered with by psychopaths... Being seen by doctors at present.  Perhaps will make a full recovery...

Safely in God's hands either way.

This life is temporary in our current state of being.
I have nearly died approximately 4 times.
Have been on medication for years.
Had a grand mal seizure of epilepsy while driving a car and smashed into a  brick wall at high speed.
This all happened whilst I was thinking I was a Christian and attending church regularly.
Have been a deacon, a musical director,  attended prayer meetings, fasted many times....
Then one day I just quit all that because I never had complete assurance or real peace.
Like Paul was away from everyone for a couple of years I was away from the church.
Then I handed everything to God , completely!
Since that time I have mercifully been shown the truth.
Awesome.
All this has totally changed my life.
Reflecting on this highlights that we go through much to develop our character.
But each in their own time.
Maybe you are being brought closer to your calling and are having many concepts clarified for you, stripping away the desires of the flesh.
Hopefully this is encouraging you.

Thank you for the message Ross.

Was taken into hospital again (twice); lots of tests ongoing.

God with me every step.

I feel a bit better... (God's doing), which I will talk about soon.

2 Corinthians 1:7 " And our hope of you is stable, knowing that you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you also be of the comfort/calling near."
Plus- " Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. " 1 John 4:4
There things are sent to try/develop us.
Whatever happens, His love never fails.

:laughing7: Cause you know that I am in good hands Marie!
Whether in the body or out - It's the same God.
O death where is your sting and all that...  :HeartThrob:

Thank you for the prayers!  Actually... They're working.
Love you all.

Good to hear.
The onion peeling analogy is "appealing " about some of the problems we go through- peeling away the outer layers till the whole reliance is Christ, not self
100 % Him setting us up for a glorious new role

May this be a time of blessing amongst the situation.
