Just had a discussion with the pastor of a church we've been attending.

It went something like this:

Me: I don't believe in an eternal hell...

Pastor: Oh I don't either!

I would be interested to know more about the church you went to. Is it an independent church, or part of a denomination of churches? What is their theological statements, as to what they believe, not just in the area of UR?  What is the atmosphere there? And what are the pastor and congregation like, in a spiritual sense? Where is it?
