I just took a personal communion after some prayer time, and I was thinking briefly on how I'd taken communion in previous times.
It was not so long ago, that I had begun on occasion, when the feeling came, to take personal communion with prayer time. God has brought me through some very deep waters as of late. The first communion I ever took - was a personal communion, before even learning of Universal Reconciliation. I remember, that I didn't have any grape juice, so I took water instead, and would pray in faith; "You turned water into wine, you can turn this water into wine as well, this water, which represents the wine, which represents the blood of the new covenant..." Hoping to be acceptable in his sight doing so. The bread? A saltine cracker.
I was very happy to take it, what I called a poor man's communion. But it was my joy to take it indeed.
My first "real communion" was taken at a Church of Christ congregation...it wasn't as wonderful...Of course, there is alot of story behind that...Perhaps for another time.
Tonight, I took it again - I had grape juice this time, and so I am happy. There is one thing though;
I'd bought olives this afternoon, and so I had with my communion of grape juice and a cracker, three olives.
I offered them, as representing the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which is symbolised by olive oil, the Olive representing many other things...Abundance, anointing, health, fuel for light...All the good things the olive brings in the Bible. Three of them, as representing The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
So many people have a legalistic approach on Communion (now, due respect for communion is a certain thing to have), but I know that some would scold me for having olives with the rest, or for not taking it in a church...and other things besides.
I was wondering - What about you assembly? How do you take communion? Do you ever take a personal communion? What do you think of olives? What experiences do you have with Communion?
With blessings.

Edit: The first communion I took was with water, and corn flakes, not a cracker...that was a later, but still early one I'd taken. My mistake.
Funny, I was just thinking about this the other day. I was thinking I might have to sneak into some church and take communion.
I remember Martin used to talk about doing it alone.
Let's pick a time EST and do it together. I can do olives. :happygrin:
...olives; lol.
:cloud9: He has put me on a communion fast before, for 30 days I had grape juice and flat bread instead of regular food. He also taught me that spiritual communion from which it comes, is partaking of the Word/bread in the light/Spirit/wine of the candlestick.
The priests had this "communion" in the inner court, when they ate of the shewbread, once again another reference to the tabernacle pattern that the churches are oblivious to, as far as origin.
Funny to me now; we were given all that the Jews had, given the spiritual applications of it and the fulfillment by the HG doing certain activities, even told we're spiritual Jews, yet most of the "churches" have no idea of their roots, or worse yet, are anti-semitic. My :2c: Blessings....
just scanning some older threads :) this easter i decided that i was going to offer to have a glass of wine and a cracker think it was a rice cracker lol with a couple of my friends! I had just been invited to a kingdom hall in which i thought it would be rude to not go as my lovely old Jehovers Gentleman has spent so much time trying to convince me and noticed they didnt drink the communion just passed it around so i thought best not sip on that as i didnt want to cause a disturbance, anyway a couple of my friends who are everyday people who do believe in god just never been involved in any releigion had commuinion with me which was so lovely! Then for a few moments I freaked out and thought oh no what have i done lol old teaching again haha but my thinking was everyone should be able to partake in it if they want to. I was taught that you had to be a christian to take it or you would bring a curse on yourself or something like that!
