Every single individual on planet earth has only one burning goal and passion - to make sure that everyone else's needs are met and that no harm would come to anyone.
So at any given moment you will have 6 billion + people who are all pulling for you at once.
The same would be true for every one of the other 6 billion + people around you. They would each have 6 billion + pulling for them as well (!)
What would that be like?

HEAVEN! :cloud9:

:icon_flower: Hi Byron!
It would/will be wonderful!
Funny, when I was a child of about 6, I remember trying to pray for everyone that I could think of .....and fully expecting God to help everyone on my list! I didn't want to leave anyone out, so I would add at the end of my prayer....and everyone in the entire world! and then I felt sorry for the devil and asked God to "save him too!"
Later, when I joined the church, I began to realize how silly my thoughts were as a small child....."the church" made me realize that :
1-- not all of your prayers are heard, because if you have ANY sin in your life, the "heavens become as sounding brass"
2-- not everyone is important to God--only the believers
3-- the devil is the opposite of God and must be destroyed because he is soooo powerful!
funny how time and truth changes things, huh? (*added note: you know of course that I DON'T believe the above 3 things anymore, right?)
btw, what happens to the devil, in the end? I know he is thrown into the LOF, but then what?
Joyce :)
Maybe he finally becomes a small snake like we encounter in the forrest. Maybe we'll all laugh about him lot's.
I got a stupid "the page cannot be found" when trying to post a longer post. Maybe I'll try again later. John Lennon's song, "Imagine" comes to mind on this subject:
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us (i.e. embrace the Lordship of Jesus Christ)
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Wasn't John into Hinduism at that point of his life? Wasn't "his" sweet lord Krishna? I can't remember....but I do know that John went through a "born-again" type of experience, which he later renounced. Here is a very interesting article about that from Christianity Today Magazine entitled: John Lennon's Born-Again Phase. It's excerpted from The Gospel According to the Beatles by Steve Turner....
If you loved the Beatles, and I did, you'll want to read this article.

Yup! Already familiar with the fact that from the "fundamentalist" way of looking at it, John had prayed the "sinner's prayer." Perdy hard for a spiritual baby to push the Lord away. And there was much within the organized Christianity of the day for him to have pushed away, that Jesus wouldn't have necessarily taken Personally.

I believe that the "My sweet Lord" song was actually a George Harrison song. All of the Beatles playing on that one, but his composition and lead singing. I've heard Christians singing that one 'cause it was playing in the store like some dumb
beep 'cause they weren't hearing the "Harry Krishna" part in that song.
So, adding a bit to my previous post, even supposing a Restorationist Universalism that would anticipate long ages of judgment before someone who died in their wickedness would be ready for the Kingdom, I don't think that even on that theological plan that John Lennon would be subject to a bit of it. When he got shot, "absent from the body, present with the Lord." I'd love to hear his new version of "Starting Over" which he has to have written since then. I'd bet he really wishes that when he were on earth that someone had given him some truth!

Thanks for the link - it was interesting to hear some of what was going on behind the scenes. Kind of makes me thankful for a lack of fame and fortune.

I'll never be thankful for a lack of fame and fortune! :icon_jokercolor:
But I'll always be thankful for the God and the Christ that reach us right where we're at, and Who refuse to do this eternity without us! People for their own reasons or infirmities of the flesh won't always stick it out or stick around, but once you've reconciled yourself to God, according to 2Corinthians 5, They're not ever going to let go! They don't ever let go anyway, but when you're reconciled, you're a chess piece in Their hands on Their chess board being moved to where they can take absolutely everything from the other side. The chess board is Christ and the chess master is the Father. When you're not yet reconciled, you're a ball in a pinball machine going back and forth into every area that from the pinball's perspective won't make the least bit of sense. But you'll ultimately and inevitably move safely within the hole that you're supposed to go into at the end of the game, though you'll never be dumped from the machine, which is Christ, because the player of the game, which is God, has absolutely no intentions of separating you from His own love. Although again, until you're reconciled, you're liable to go around and around and around and around to where from your perspective "length of days and long life" might not be such a great thing!
Your welcome, Byron!
I find my own music drifting into melodies that "sound like" the Beatles-- it was incredible the talent they had--
I'm free at last to enjoy it and know that they will be saved at last!

Byron, I've read this same sentiment of yours a few times now and I have to tell you that it's been really sticking in my mind. Believing in the salvation of all, you tend to see others as just your fellow brothers and sisters and even those who wrong you, even if it's a little hard at first you eventually see them in the right light and "pull for them". But lately, it's been much stronger, this feeling of "pulling for everyone..." because of what you've wrote. It's become larger and more intense in my mind and in my heart.

At sunrise, yesterday, I had the strangest little conversation with the Lord;
I was looking out the window and thinking about all the people who were ever born that never knew the story of Jesus....and suddenly it was as if I could identify with them....in particular, a specific girl who was born in Egypt thousands of years ago.... I know this sounds weird...but I'll go out on a limb here and tell you about it...
it was, for a moment, as if I could feel what she was thinking, looking out on a sunrise that happen thousands of years ago.....that she was searching for "the truth" ...striving to know "the TRUTH"...I was in tears and thanking God for reminding me of the "light" that lighteth every man that is born into the world....because this "moment" of conversation with the Lord showed me how so many will be grateful for the "knowledge of the Lord" that will cover the earth! I was also very grateful that He saw fit to let me see as much as He has in my day! But the compassion for the "lost sheep" that will one day meet Him face to face....that was the main emphasis in this exchange.
Just my thoughts....

I like that. being "pulled into the dream".
You know, people can discuss ten thousand different "God" topics and debate and scrutinize and put stuff under a microscope, and theorize and whatever else ad nauseum....
but it's stuff like this that grabs me and makes the most profound impact on my soul.
I'm not kidding. "being pulled into the dream..." heh, I got this odd little picture in my mind of a galaxy looking thing. And all of these spirits being "pulled into" the dream of world peace, and for having the mind of loving others and pulling for EVERYONE.... The galaxy in my head is more of a golden hue, and you can see people's spirits being pulled in.... And it's just this beautiful swirling thing. (not sure why I always have to visualize stuff... lol. I guess because it helps me to remember it.) There's a car in my town with the bumper sticker that says: Visualize whirled peas. Maybe that's where I got my whirling "galaxy" type picture from. lol....

Well, Sparrow, you've given us a picture of whirled peas. Which galaxy looks like whirled okra??
Seriously, though, whirled peas must be what the politicians and their military strategies have been working for. Then again, doesn't it say somewhere in Scripture that when they say peas and safety then sudden destruction is coming?

Sometimes it seems like Bible literalists LOVE negativity. Talk about giving and they say "Jesus said we will ALWAYS have the poor with us". Really? He told everyone who reads that verse that? (Note, when the poor read that it reads "You will always have you with you" :mshock:). So then, perpetually - throughput eternity, there will
always be poor people, right?
So, when anyone tells you "Peas be unto you" you better watch out! That's not it really means, what they're really saying is that you will are probably about to be sucked into a giant pea mixer and be suddenly destroyed :Sparkletooth:

 :mrflo: Poverty's about to be abolished perdy soon  If death is the last enemy to be abolished, then the Goliath of poverty's got to come down a bit sooner. Always is used in Romans regarding a threat against Israel that St. Paul quotes from the Psalms that their back would be bent over always. I'm not sure that I totally understand that statement that St. Paul quotes. Must be a Hebrew euphemism for a backslidden condition 'cause that's how St. Paul seems to use it. Yet he concludes by saying that all of Israel shall be saved and this will mean much greater riches for the world. Obviously spiritual in some way, but perhaps riches should be read as "riches" as well.
With the way that I've been looking at the book of Revelation over on the book of Revelation board, the 7th and last of the Churches that the book is addressed to are in absolute abundance, yet in the sight of Christ they've wandered from a blessed position to being poor, blind, wreched, and naked. That would seem to correspond to the end of the millenial age which is after the 7th bowl. So, they buy gold from Him refined in the fire, fire falls from heaven, and there's a new heavens and a new earth. I don't believe the close of Revelation 20 teaches a final apostacy, but a final revival in the way that I'm reading Revelation. (Again my notes on it are on the Revelation board on this forum for anyone going "wha??") I believe that the Gog and Magog situation in Revelation 20 is an attempt at a demonic attack. There's nothing to demand that in Revelation 20 that that's human armies that have turned away from Christ. Satan is loosed for a little season. Perhaps still self deceived enough to think that he's escaped 'cause of his own cleverness, stunning power, or whatever. And when people merge the earthly wealth with the heavenly wealth by opening the door to Christ afresh, then as the fire of God comes in you've got the beauties of the newer and much higher level of prosperity, and Father stabilizing the universe sufficiently enough with the Blood of Christ to where it can stand the intensity of His full Presence living among us without limitation. But world peace (and yes, I guess peas for everybody too) and the end of poverty are really really really soon on the horizon. We need it for the discipleship of the nations, and even if spirituality teeters on waning towards the end of the millenium (however long that winds up genuinely being), the whole earth will hear the knocking Christ before the fire that falls winds up being a condemning fire because of the last verse or two in Malachi. The future is something to look forward to 'cause Jesus Christ has already prepared the way through the veil of His flesh.

So, Byron, that's what that was in that can of peas, eh? Too chalky and salty!! I thought they'd simply been at the store for too long or had gotten overheated on the truck on the way to the store. I thought that that was a twig that was in the can that I'd bitten into... Bleh!! I'm eatin' only fresh or frozen peas from now on :dontknow:

Personally, I think all the endless debates about doctrine and all the bible studies and endless conversations about this doctrine and that doctrine and this future event and that past event and what this means and what that means...... is it all really necessary? I mean.. are we missing the whole main point? Are we missing the forest for the trees? Are we wasting valuable time? When we should be spreading love in this world and letting God's love FOR us all WORK THROUGH us reaching out to our other brothers and sisters in this world? What will it matter.... if you read the bible and all of it's versions 50 times each? What will it matter? The simple message of love gets lost so easily....

Martin, your post was one of the posts on this thread that drove me to post what I did. I'm just going to be honest.
What started out as a simple message of love and hope just started to get unraveled into just MORE of this:
Quote

I mean... come on.
Is all of this REALLY necessary?
What will happen, will happen. In the meantime, the whole point of this life is to learn about LOVE, not about prophecy and endtimes and past times and deciphering every little thing in some book. It's about whisking all that junk away and seeing the four letter word that remains.. L-O-V-E. And taking that love that we know the Father has for ALL of us and spreading it outward in waves to our other brothers and sisters in this world. The reason why the world is the way it is, is because people don't have LOVE. God IS love. Shouldn't we, (and I'm saying this as much for myself as for everyone else) instead of endlessly debating and proving to everyone how much we know about some dusty old book, shouldn't we instead just be spending more of our valuable time and energy trying to help spread the love in this world? Showing, by loving, that God is real? When you love, when you have compassion, patience, gentleness, kindness, humbleness.... all of those things help other people to see God. That is why God wanted us to focus on these things and think on THESE things....
Like I said, just some thoughts. This thread is so special, and when I saw it getting beat back down into just another talk of what this verse means and what that verse means... I just had to say something.
peace.
Quote from: sparrow on August 05, 2008, 04:12:53 PMMartin, your post was one of the posts on this thread that drove me to post what I did. I'm just going to be honest. What started out as a simple message of love and hope just started to get unraveled into just MORE of this:
The reason that I posted what I posted, is because, like it or not, these are still generally meant as doctrinal boards. And people come to these boards with all kinds of reasons and motives, many of whom are looking for people to show it to them in the Book. A lot of people just want to be able to see it in the Book 'cause they have to deal with relatives that are premillenial, all hope is lost, little flock in heaven to the exclusion of everyone else, etc., etc. and they need a reason for the hope that is within them to share with others. (And I realize that not all premillenialists are that way 'cause I believe that the Concordant crowd is generally premillenial, but I mean outside of UR circles.)
But the main point of love was never lost to me. I was one of the ones that was frightened to the tenth power by ET throughout my childhood and although I continued going to Church, in my heart of hearts I regarded the Bible as an enemy rather than as an ally because I never saw much good news in it. I was ashamed to share Christ and His Word with ANYONE. What did I have to share? Turn or burn? I was burning and I was supposedly one of the ones that had turned. I knew that didn't work, but I held out to the end and was saved from all of the really hard thoughts about God. Now the Bible has become such a love-letter to me, and yeah, when I want to speak briefly about something and I know I'm liable to tread on an area where someone's liable to lose where I'm coming from on something and how I'm putting two and two together on that, then I do refer people to other resources, whether Elhanan Winchester or J.W. Hanson or other things that I've written so that I can be allowed my brevity in a certain instance as in my post a couple of posts ago on this thread.
But perhaps I have said far too much already. I'll remain relatively silent at these boards now. I'm [deeply] sorry I've offended. I sincerely apologize for having overstepped my bounds around here. It was never my intent. I was only reaching towards the edification [and where applicable, the wholeness] of the most people possible, as in everything else that I do online and offline. I just personally don't have
any dreams that aren't from the Book. :cloud9: :HeartThrob:
Martin... I think we're having a miscommunication of sorts, maybe?
edited: Martin, saying you will be more silent on the board now... that's just not what this was about.
I was merely expressing a point of view.
Nothing more, nothing less.
It just seems so many get caught in the web of endless debates...
I just hated to see this thread starting to possibly get woven into that web.
Just wanted to try to stop it before it got all tangled.
Simplicity is wonderful and powerful.
And the first post on this thread is what it was...
simple and powerful.
That's all...

Hi Sparrow,
I don't think that I misunderstood anything. I'll reread your posts a couple more times to be sure though. I've always felt like my writing really really sucked anyway. It's much easier for me to talk than to write. I've tolerated my writing 'cause I felt like if at least my heart came through, then at the end of the day I could keep the groans to myself about not liking my writing in the least. If I'm failing at even that, or coming across the least, remotest bit Pharisaical (which is what I've tended to think of my writing anyway), then it's time to stop. I understand about the simplicity of this thread. But I was already doing a lot of thinking along these lines before this just felt like a timely moment to take a step back at how much that I post. I've been getting quite a bit of negative feedback about my posts the whole time that I've been at the boards over the last 7 years (give or take 'cause Gary took a Sabbatical from having the boards for a while, a while back). I'm just looking at it from the perspective of living at peace with everyone as far as is possible and practical. The Scriptures are sincerely all that I think about any more, although I'd previously studied absolutely everything else thoroughly. It's just been where I've been at for the last couple of years. ("All is vanity.") When someone invites me to share in a dream, immediately the mental concordance starts flipping through the mental pages on this and that. You want to talk paradise! Oh yeah! I can get into that, although it's bound to look like a dissertation by the time I finally shut the heck up :laughing7:
But I'm just in a season where I'm sick of myself and everything that I do anyway. I found out from my mother a couple of months ago that I was named after Saint Martin De Porres. So, I've been looking into his life ever since and everything resonates with me on purpose, destiny, signs, and wonders. So my spirit's completely agitated that I'm not where I'm supposed to be right now. So, my previous comment wasn't over-sensitivity on my part. I'm in a real season of self-loathing right now that I'm not where I'm supposed to be by now. Some would say that my recent studies of everything that I can find online about St. Martin De Porres is "a crisis of faith." To me, Utopia is serving absolutely everyone in every area of life. And yet, by comparison with the other Martin's bi-locating self, I'm doing jack squat about it :sigh:
Peace to ya, brother. We're all in this together. :grouppray:
At least, that's one thing we know for sure. We're all just brothers and sisters...
I'm sorry if I made you feel anything other than peace.

No, you didn't do anything to bring me out of peace. I've got none for the time being until I've heard further from our Lord about some things that I'm in a season of agitation and separation about. I made an addition to my previous post while you were making your post that might clarify my boil over with myself.
Absolute perfection is soooo close at hand, though. No more wars, tears, poverty, illnesses, loneliness, worries, distress, etc. We are moments from it.
Hey Martin--
Just jumping in here to ask you to keep writing. You are a talented writer and I always learn a lot from you--from just your musings about this and that--I love reading your posts.
So don't stop. I look forward to them.
Martin,
I always look forward to reading your stuff. You've actually given me some new insights and I feel you're there for me. For me it is such a comfort just knowing you exist in this world! It's partly because it seems at times so few understand some of these basic beginning first principles of the things of God, like the truth about what KJV translates "eternal judgments" or that God manifests and performs wonders. Also it's that so few have developed Christ's character of leniency (or, forbearance) toward those of other positions or interpretations which you demonstrate. Really, because you're you, I have a lifting of my burden for the lost world and apostate Church. God may have many worldwide, but He's hid them well, at least from me.
I don't even have anyone around here where I live that I can have a deep discussion on the things of God, let alone accompanied with digging into Scripture, and that has nothing to do with agreeing on even the basics, just a history of spiritual experience and Bible knowledge. I talk to everybody I can, like when I go to the post office (only 304 people in this town in the last census.) I talk to several people every time we go to the store or even the occasional restaurant. A lot of times Father shows off with power they say they experience too. One brother took me to his Pastor he was so amazed. (Haven't seen him since.) Most say they're really blessed and haven't heard it that way before. Some have said certain questions they've had were answered for the first time. Yet, they don't even want it enough to stop by and be taught anything else, thinking there might be more. Don't undervalue your sharing here. As good as it intrinsically is, some of us get so little anywhere else it looms large.
Remember us in prayer too for needing our property to sell to get a means of income. Also, for something that brings depression, just sick everyday for years. I am determined . . . everywhere Jesus goes people are healed. This is a basic as forgiveness of sins in His name.

Thank you Molly and James for your kind words.
I've just been in a season where I've been getting ornery. 99.9% of it with me. Okay, the Holy Spirit just corrected me that it's about 50/50 aggrivation at Him and at myself.
I've been very deeply concerned for about a week and a half about the potential of some of my frustrations bleeding through to some of my posts on Tentmaker, and perhaps giving anyone the mistaken impression of either a Pharisee spirit or of being particularly bent out of shape with them, what they were saying, or whatever.
I've weaved in and out of these kinds of frustrations with Father God for the last 18 years. Always a Jacob wrestling with the Lord for a bigger blessing. And then I heard a minister the other day by the name of Bill Hamon say on television that one of the gifts that I've been really persuing much greater liberty in should be a lot easier to flow in than speaking in other tongues. On the one hand, that was comforting 'cause it took more than a decade for me to have a free flow of speaking in other tongues, but now I could switch between English and the languages of the Spirit at will over and over again if I thought it were remotely fruitful in a conversation. Not that it would be, but it's just that easy: English or the other. I guess it happens with some regularity in prayer though. So that perhaps when I've finally tripped that door within myself or whatever (since they all say that you've got all of the gifts when you received the fullness of the Spirit), then "when that day comes" for me personally, I'll be able to flow confidently in the way that I prefer. And on the other hand, when I heard that minister say that it should be actually easier than speaking in other tongues, I wanted to throw the television through the glass patio door! Easier my beep!!
My biggest concern right now is seeing a thread that I want to contribute to on these boards and accidentally barking something out. So, that's why I've been wrestling with clamming up around here for either the short term or the long term, or however long it takes for me to have relief "in sight" about what I'm personally dealing with. The only Christianity that I've ever personally known has been a supernatural one rather than a dry cerebral one. So I guess to a certain extent, when it's not producing on the level that I want it to, then I'm the biggest screaming baby with the nuclear wasted diaper. And today, that diaper's been perdy, perdy full :sigh: So, Father God's been like "Oooo gross!! Would you just keep all of those cares cast upon Me? (1Peter 5:6-7)"
And for the person that's reading this thread casually thinking "what has this got to do with the original purpose of the thread??" This gets back to every little kid's dream of being Superman or Supergirl; the ability to protect, prevent, and alleviate suffering -- no matter what's on the horrizon, whether some newer bigger devil in town, or some other form of catastrophe. What's particularly had me aggrivated, frustrated, longing, whiney, asking, seeking, knocking, etc. is that things that I've experienced just a handful of times, or felt like I teetered on with some unusual circumstances seem like they were a normal part of everyday life for the guy that I'm named after. They don't seem to have been the typical lifespan of an Outpouring of the Holy Spirit which is usually 42 months. I received a small amount of comfort [today] that perhaps my barking (won't use the other "b" word :gangel: ) is because the Holy Spirit is positioning me for this new season:
William Seymour who was pastor at the Azusa Street Revival in the early part of the 20th century is supposed to have prophesied [in 1909] that "in about" 100 years from that time period back then that stuff much greater and more collossal from the Hand of the Lord than the Azusa Street Revival would begin to happen EVERYWHERE on the whole planet. Anyone not familiar with the details of the Azusa Street Revival in Los Angeles, CA. in the early years of the 20th century just needs to know that that revival is so legendary and mythological that if 1% of 1% of the reported miracles really happened in that old warehouse back then, then Azusa Street makes the book of Acts in the Bible look like a piece of cheese by comparison in terms of the miraculous. Take just about all of the miracles of the Bible, and the parting of the Red Sea is about the only thing that didn't happen at Azusa Street. People grew new limbs and new teeth at Azusa Street with the regularity that some Baptist preachers get people saved. One account at Azusa Street is that a person with no arm up to the shoulder suddenly grew out an arm from the inside out. I mean by that that for just a couple of seconds people saw the bones growing out and then the muscles and flesh forming over it. (Those kinds of miracles were also common in Apostle T.L. Osborn's ministry in India and Africa during the last half of the 20th century.) But greater than all of that, according to Bro. Seymour, is supposed to be starting "around" 100 years from when he was saying that in 1909. So, if we've really got several billion people on the earth, then God's about to raise up a few million new Benny Hinns over the next decade or so. I hope they've got Tic Tacs or Certs :icon_jokercolor:
Revelation 19:5, 9b-11a . . .
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
9 . . . And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold . . .
It doesn't take a week or 3 days. It is God's will that "ye all may prophecy." The Spirit of prophecy is within you and upon you! You already fear God and praise Him!
As you are praising God, with your inner man take hold of Jesus on the one hand and with the other, the one to whom you're prophecying. Take a moment to come to rest in peace as you quietly pray in tongues. Just give testimony of what about Jesus you know to be true for that person. As you continue speaking your witness to and of Jesus in that life the annointing may take you up into a higher realm of WORD to say and/or open the heavens for you to see something to tell.
