Title: Christian Random Thoughts
Post by: emilysmith on June 06, 2013, 10:18:30 AM
Why are things like divorce and homosexuality starting to bother me? Why are things like the hearts of folks more important than trying to be impressive.I guess it's God's hand really on me. I have so many questions but glad to have some folks in my corner.

Hi, Emily:

I found out very early in my walk as a follower of Jesus the Christ, that things I used to love as an atheist/worldite, I now no longer cared for, or was indifferent to, or downright hated.  Music was my first clue, and a lot of LP's got trashed.  Truly, the Spirit of God works in us in ways we cannot account for, but we see the results, the fruits.  We get the blessing, God gets the glory... :dsunny:

It seems to me that when we focus on self and gratifying self-will, we are not focused on God's precepts.  But when we focus on God's precepts, we no longer accept the things of the world, but rather we focus on the needs of others.  God's precepts are not about gratifying our flesh, but are about bringing God glory.  In other words, it's not about us!

.

Psa 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

The above was a favorite verse for a long time when I was young. God is always with us.....omnipresent.  God knows our inner most thoughts.  As we try to keep our mind stayed on acceptable things, we get help from God.   The effort is not in vain.

The world struggles with things like love, relationships, right and wrong. God is there with them in their struggle but they often don't know it.  Caring about the hearts of others is a natural thing.  It is an honor to do so.  You think about these things for a reason that only the omnipresent can reveal.  The omnipresent is indeed revealing to you, but the question is what?  As you continue to meditate on these things knowing the omnipresent is there with you, the answer will come.  It is an answer specifically for you.
