if anyone hasnt read his book "the gospel of inclusion", you really need to. I bought it thinking it was strictly about christian universalism but perhaps even more so, its about breaking out of fundamentalism and its just a really honest book from a preacher that was at the top of all that. Very insightful

             Yes,  that was a great excerpt  from Carlton.    I liked where he said "like yourself first, and don't be affected (or fearful) by the negative reaction of people to you".       
          I just watched another one called "The inclusion conclusion".     Where Carlton is on the Lexi  religious talk show surrounded by former admirers of him .      This was soo strange!   To see a bunch of folks who think Carlton is being led astray  by demons or something.   And there reaction to Carlton.   And you can really see a nice contrast here.  Between the religious spirit on those, who I'm sure are very nice and sincere people,    surrounding Carlton.  And the spirit that Carlton is showing.   You can just see the Spirit of Christ of love,   for the World,    in Carlton's  defense of  himself and the Gospel.      Here it is for anyone interested.

    made me think of something some one said years ago
  to love  your neighbour as yourself , meant the new spiritual man inside you ,  I never forgot that   
because of guilt many cannot forgive  themselves  after  knowing Jesus loves you  so much  and you are  forgiven of much by the Lord    you must overcome   that  guilt and shame ,  so you also love much  at that point of forgiveness , because you have been forgiven so much .
and are than able to forgive others in the same way   Christ does ,,
Luk 7:47 Wherefore I say unto you , Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loves little.

     I think your saying that we need to learn to see ourselves the way that Jesus sees us.    How can we be Christlike ourselves without doing that?   Its just that it can very difficult, because we have Jesus telling us one thing,  and the World telling us something completely different about our selves.    So no wonder that it is so important for us to keep our eyes on Jesus.  And thankfully the Spirit of our Father is with us to enable us to do all these things.  It really is the Spirit's work in us.  I like that soo much better than what religion says!

 Yes  fullarmour ,  a new creature in Christ  is  clean , fresh and  able  as Christ /God and Holy   Spirit  is  within us  .. VERY POWERFUL  indeed ..

Jhn 15:4   Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you , except you abide in me.  


 we cling to Jesus / Life because of Him/ His Life/ Spirit  in us  .......He is our new life  we are  so  hid in Christ , so others Do see Christ see no more the old man of flesh .

Yes.  I liked how at the end  Carlton tried to bring everyone together.  He really knocked it outa the park  when he did that at the end.
