I think everything here can be viewed by non-members except the "Member's Section."  Remind your "someone" that the punishment in "everlasting" fire is only age-long.  It MUST be, because later, Death and the Grave (Hell in some translations) are cast into the Lake of Fire, and how can anyone be dead and/or in Hell after that?  The Bible says what it says, Hell is mostly inserted by mental habit and bad translation (driven by bad theology).
Socrates taught Plato.  Plato taught Aristotle.  Aristotle tutored the son of Philip of Macedon.  This boy grew up to become Alexander the Great, largely by slaughtering a lot of people.  That's philosophy.

Jesus spoke the Truth.  He blessed the poor.  He healed the sick.  He even raised the dead.  He died on a cross for us, lived again, and came back long enough to tell us to love one another.  That's religion.

I always like the view Sheila expresses - we are all part sheep, part goat, part wheat, part chaff.  Our "goat" parts will be burned with fire, and our "chaff" parts will be carried off by the wind/spirit.

Thanks for asking!  We've been here over a year now, and I'm doing well, just a little woozy as I often am from the early transition from cool to warmer weather.  I do still keep an eye on what is happening at the WIPP site, but that's small potatoes compared with what is drifting across the Pacific from Fukushima.  It's a slow-motion Extinction Level Event (ELE), but that means that Jesus MUST return soon.

Good stuff Sheila!

It is important to note that the passage does not really make a lot of sense if taken literally (each person is a sheep or goat, and it is the final judgment). The reason for this, is that in the passage there is a group of people that always visited those in prison, helped when sick, clothed when naked etc etc, and then there is a group who never did these things. As we all know, no human being (but Christ Himself) has always done the right thing, and so we are left to wonder where the cut off is. What if I visited a sick person, but did not clothe a naked person? What if I visited someone in prison but failed to be at the bedside of a sick person? Where is the cut off percentage for being a sheep rather than a goat? Is it just a general behavior pattern? And is this now the cause of salvation and reward, or is it still faith in Christ?

Obviously there is something deeper being expressed in this parable. In agreement with Sheila, I believe the sheep is the new creation, and the goat is the carnal man. The spiritual man always does what is right, and the carnal man cannot do what is right. So then, that which is carnal is judged and burned up, and the spiritual inherits the kingdom prepared for them. It reminds me of the passage in the old testament about the wicked being ashes under the feet of the righteous. Are we really going to be dancing in the burning embers of dead, blind sinners? No, but we will have ashes at our feet when our wickedness is burned away!

Christ spoke so much about the inner kingdom, as this is where His Spirit moves and refines and judges until these things are expressed into the outside world also. The words He speaks are Spirit and Life!

  Shev!  He is no respector of persons.....when He says ALL bound in sin[appointed to die once] and ALL shown

mercy..and recieve GRACE[healing/restoring/redemption/deliverance from the evil]  See how FAIR AND JUST HE IS?

I put to death[what needs to perish] and I make alive!!!!!!!!   ALL THINGS ARE YOURS..whether death or life...etc

I like in the book of Enoch where He speaks of His creation of man...I created man from visible and from invisible nature..

of both are his death and life and image.......

That makes sense to me...a lot more sense than eternal torment anyhow. God showed me He will save all and I believe it's confirmed in the Bible. I can't go back. Everything makes so much more sense now.

There are some really unbelievable things happening in the oceans of the world right now. between Fukushima and islands of plastic garbage leeching pcbs and other toxins into the fish the world eats, well, its almost ridiculous in some Orwellian sense. A lot of Christian's overlook the passage in Revelations where it says,

The nations were filled with wrath, but now the time of your wrath has come. It is time to judge the dead and reward your servants the prophets, as well as your holy people, and all who fear your name, from the least to the greatest. It is time to destroy all who have caused destruction on the earth."
