Title: bible interpretation
Post by: ded2daworld on December 31, 2012, 04:19:16 PM
I used to work with the cults. A question was used that was necessary to open their minds
to the possibility that they had been misled. Sola Scriptura =only scripture.
I would ask, "imagine someone that had never heard of Christianity became stranded on a dessert
island and for years, the only thing they had to read was the Bible in their own language,
and they read it a lot and regularly... Do you think they would come to believe the same way your group
does? Would they have to read other literature to arrive at their theology.?
Would it even be possible for anyone to reach the same conclusions as your group
without reading the literature of your group?"

Think about those questions and where we get our beliefs from. If God wanted us to
understand weird, strange, or barely comprehensible doctrine, wouldn't he have been able to put it in the Bible and
leave out a section like Numbers?? :laughing7:

Numbers 4....there are clothes that cover the Holy things of God when He is on the move.No one

can touch the Holy things of God  unless appointed for that by God.  For this reason,Jesus said

unto you the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven are given, but unto them I speak in parables.

there are 'coverings' on the Holy things...until the time of the revelation of Jesus Christ from

Heaven..when He comes in all His Father's Glory, with all the Heavenly Hosts.

The Holy spirit and Jesus serve as Priests of the Most High God.

no man can teach you...the Father,Son and Holy spirit must reveal these things............

Jesus spoke with Nicodemas[a Pharisee and teacher in Israel].....Jesus said,I tell you the truth

NO ONE can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again.  He then spoke of this process

born of water and spirit from above.  How can this be Nicodemas asked.

Then Jesus said,You are a teacher ,and do you not understand these things?  I have spoken

to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

Sheila, why do you take things directly off the subject?
I started a new subject so people could respond to the subject,
not go off on some tangent that there are some really worthwhile verses in Numbers
or a quote from 3rd chapter of John -
If you are on the subject, once again, I fail to see how.
And I mean the above in the nicest possible way. :dsunny:

well Ded2...I thought it was the subject[not that I don't get off subject ]]  I thought you said that

the questions were to make people see that the possibility that they had been misled was possible.

I then showed in numbers how God covers His Holy things and that unless the Holy spirit/Jesus and God teach

you..that you will most likely misunderstand or be mislead.

   Is that off topic?

You're right. I was wrong. We just seem to think on different wavelengths that many
times I simply don't understand what you've said or the point you are getting to.
Thanks for clearing that up. :friendstu:

Sheila has a unique way of expressing herself, and I have learned to appreciate it.  I think she may just see deeper beyond the veil than most of us.

lights and prisms...light has wavelengths..and it can display all the different colours of the rainbow..

blue is light, violet, light,yellow..it is just   all light..just in a different waves legths.  I think it is because

of this very thing..that sometimes we don't recognize that each has said the same thing ..in just

a different wavelength..

the New Jerusalem has different coloured jewels that reflect light from in her....all the rainbow colours

let your light shine..whatever colour it is[only don't be offended if some prefer say violet over yellow etc.

we all have our different posters and personalities that we ' understand a little clearer then others!.

Nothing wrong at all in it...just let it be light!! and not darkness[for any darkness  will have

  light shined on it!]
