Some say Hebrews 10:25 teaches that we should "go to church". Some believe it means to gather in small groups. Others believe it means being in contact in 2's and 3's, perhaps more-so being the church rather than "going to church". Still another perspective is, God has already placed believers into the one body, so we're assembled already never to be separated (however, if that's the meaning of the scrip, why the warning of "forsake not the assembling.."?).
Any Godly insight into this scripture and anything the Lord has laid on your heart about it?
P.S. I started this thread after seeing a friend of mine on facebook post the verse and then say how he was looking forward to attending church services today and "fulfilling that verse". Just got me to thinking..since, I've looked at some articles about it, but would find it interesting to see what folks' thoughts are here. I'm also reminded of another friend of mine asking me once about that verse (and my not attending regular services). I stumbled around and poorly tried to explain that I thought it had to do with something besides "going to church". He commented something like "I'm simple, I just take it for what it says". :(

Paul was under house arrest for 2 years. He was OK with not going to (an assembly of others) at least, he didn't complain about it. :Chinscratch:
This has been the hardest for me, not having a church/assembly to attend and fellowship. I long for even just one person that believes this glorious truth to study with and have fellowship with. Maybe when I get more grounded I will be able to fellowship with those who believe in ET again.

I believe we in the body of Christ are not subject to time and space for "assembling together" because we are all in the same spirit. I think this forum exists for the purpose of assembling together to share the word of truth. I also think it's better to be relatively alone with the truth than to assemble with those who don't believe it. I think the ritual, the music, and the socializing of church are all just sensations for the soul, but sharing the spirit of truth here on the forum is truly spiritually edifying. I think that's much better. I think it's just like when we decide to give up other things of the world that we might miss at first but later realize aren't that important.

I think those who believe in the god that plans to torture the majority of humanity in fire forever do not believe the evangel in the written word of God because they are deceived by distorted translation of the word of God and tradition of man that invalidates the word of God.

"But if ever we also, or a messenger out of heaven, should be bringing an evangel to you beside that which we bring to you, let him be anathema!" (Galatians 1:8)
You don't need to go to church to socialize any more than you need to go to a bar. I think the most important thing is to study the word of God. Then God will provide folks with whom to communicate, and this forum is one of the ways by which that is done.
