Charles Darwin was NOT a scientist. He had a degree in theology but Disliked that God didn't act the way Charlie thought he should.
He didn't make medical school and in "high society" back then you were either a doctor or a theologian. He noted all about the Galapogos finches. They varied. They were still and always would be finches. Humans vary a lot also from the pygmies (3 ft tall tto the watusi 7 feet tall and these tribes are just a few miles apart. From the darkest African to the lightest Scandinavian we are all people with variations. We will not "evolve" into an entirely new creature. The value of Chuck Darwin was not in the strength of his theory (still a theory after all these years), but in his providing a way for scientists and intellectuals a path away from God.
Yeah, he basically completed the work of his grandfather Erasmus Darwin who got most of his ideas from the ancient greeks.
People naturally want everything explained without God in the picture. Interestingly, he still was a proponent of Lamarkianism which says a change in the traits of the father are passed down to the children. (His explanation for the long necked giraffe reaching for higher leaves) Forget that they prefer grass and the long neck would have made them pass out lowering for grass if God hadn't provided with a type of shunt that keeps the blood from rushing to the brain. By the way, the giraffes neck only has 7 vertebrae.
Chinese women that have had their feet bound still give birth to girls with normal size feet. Tribesman that add metal collars to the necks to stretch them give birth to normal necked people. Wood circles placed in earlobes to stretch them doesn't change in the baby, and thousands of rats tails have been cut off in controlled experiments. Baby rats are still being born with tails. There is a variation but a limit to the variation.
Animal breeders have tried for years but you still can't get a horse or cow as big as a house. There are no purple horse or green cows. There are limits.
In the 1940's Hitler was doing experiments on humans. One of the experiments was to see if an "ape child"or "half human half ape could be born.
They didn't have the woman have sex with an ape but they injected her with the apes sperm. It didn't work.
They then removed the ovaries of an ape and implanted in a woman. Again they tried injecting ape sperm. It still didn't work.
As Genesis says, "Each animal will reproduce according to it's own kind."
It also explains room on the ark. A pair of the cat family, a pair of the (wolf)dog family, etc. All the variation came about from the parent couples which were brought to Noah. (He didn't have to find, capture, select, etc.) Almost all the 150+ breeds of dogs have come about in the last 200 years. The purer the breed, the weaker it is healthwise. Some breeds have gotten so weak that they may become extinct in the next 50 years or so. They had to take the poodle(a weak breed) and breed it with a cocker spaniel (another pathetic breed to get the much more robust cockapoo. They are doing it more and more just to keep the breeds (or a semblance of them) alive. :Peace2:
