I want to let tentmaker know about this as it may encourage or cheer some of you!...  :URWelcome:

Years ago I grew up knowing the truth about UR. - I had that 'heart knowledge'.   :HeartThrob:
I started going to churches thinking they were all the same...I didn't even know what 'evangelical' meant back then or 'baptist' etc and found myself jumping from church to church honestly thinking everyone just believed the same things...That God was love and He would restore His creation etc...Oh how wrong I was!

I used to love when all the neighbouring churches 'united' for Christmas time... But they didn't!...They would bicker and talk about each other and when the churches started telling me I was demonic for believing God loved everyone (and one church told me never to return because I was possessed by the devil (lol)) (very hurtful at the time)... I stopped going to churches.
I trusted what God was 'giving me' throughout this trying time but I had no 'head knowledge'...I was just following my heart..,But to be honest it was a hard, hard time...Very lonely and frustrating but I had to trust what was 'in me' rather than what those people were saying though I doubted myself all the time but then I'd think:
"Nah no way... Love doesn't burn people in a big fire, curse what they think, they're all hypocrites anyway" and I'd get back on track but then in the back of my mind I'd be thinking:
"Yeh but you're just a regular guy and these guys are ministers and pastors...They've studied longer and know more than you"...And my doubts would jump about like that...For many years.

I could see there were glaring 'inconsistencies' in differing bible versions like: Jonah being in a big whale for a few days in one version and in hell forever in another...So I knew something was up when the bible spoke of hell or eternity or anything to do with punishment....So that kept me going...
...And none of these 'experts' could give me a decent answer on any questions I had except to say I was evil for believeing Love (God) loved everyone... "EH??!!!"
...The more I spoke to those people the more I caught whiff of the rancid scent of 'Skybalon.' (the GK word Paul used in Philippians which is a very strong word which means s**** (literally)).

"What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish/skybalon, that I may gain Christ...

    –Philippians 3:8

Yes 'skybalon' was used in graffiti of the time and manuscripts linking it to pure profanity lol.

Anyway...I digress...

I must add that I had the odd miracle to keep me going through these times.  Yes miracles...I say the word without any hesitation.  ... Occurences happened to show me God was letting me know I was on the right track and these were things that defied all that could be considered as 'normal'.  They were supernatural occurences (which is why one church said I was possessed).  I was accused of putting faith in the supernatural rather than in God.  But really I was putting my faith in God and not in their false teachings.  ... I was getting my fruit from the source, so to speak.  I had to trust these were miracles from God because it was God I had been asking for help from.  I won't go into what they were here.  They were 'signs' I was on the right track that's all that I can say and all that really matters.  I wasn't completely left alone during this time...I just want to make that clear... God didn't leave me alone.

So along came the internet.
I was in my early 20's and started discovering more 'universalist thinkers' like myself...Swedenborg, Emmett Fox etc.

...As the years passed I discovered Gary Amirault through Youtube initially and that was the beginning of my 'head knowledge'....Discovering just how badly mistranslated our bibles really are and learning all about the words that had been altered etc.
I saw Gary on a video called 'hell under fire' or something like that and I just loved the guy...His words were like a healing balm on me...I loved him for that.  Gary was reassuring me that what was in my heart had been true all along...  :rolllol:

When I was young I used to go through my bible and write down every 'universalist' part of Scriptures and the NT I could find...because it made me feel good.  Now I was finding online books on the internet with people just like me and it was a very precious thing indeed.

I never got a chance to meet Gary...We probably passed words an few times on the odd youtube comment here and there and that's about it so I don't know a lot about him.  He seemed a very sweet and emotional man...Big big heart...When I heard he died I cried for about three days... It really, really hit me...and to know how much he missed his wife brings tears to my eyes as I type... Surely we are linked all of us...

Here is the miracle....

Since my early 20's I had LONGED greatly to know other UR believers (in the flesh (not online but to have actual physical contact and friendships with others like myself)) and to be a member of such a church. - I 'needed' that closeness with other believers...But never found it... However...

...On the day I heard of Gary's death I found such a church! ...Do you know how rare such a church is? - And right on the day I learned Gary had passed?! And the REALLY bizarre thing is that that church was right across the street from me...A stone throw away!....And It had been there all along and I hadn't known!  I had just assumed it was a church like any other...Full of skybalon!
On that day (I learned of Gary's passing) I had walked inside that church to pray  (it seemed as good a place as any) as the doors were open but on my way out I met a woman who was a member of the church....We got talking...she enquired of my background regarding 'doctrine' so I let her know and she told me hers were the same!  I've made lots of new friends...and trust me....I really needed that church...It came at just the right time...It has changed my life.  I finally have UR friends I can talk with in the flesh...Something I never thought I'd have.

I honestly can't even begin to tell you how good it feels.  I'm not saying a UR church is the be all and end all...But i needed that fellowship...I just needed it...And I wanted a church I could get involved with...I still believe God wants a community...for us to be together...not to hide away from the world but to be active within it and help and support each other...

...Anyway...

I just want to say a HUGE thank you to Gary Amirault.
I will accept this as a 'sign' and as a miracle.

Ross

Awesome how literally ALL things work together for good.
NOTHING can keep us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
LOVE NEVER FAILS.

I identify with what you shared there- the changes that develop us as we are led by the Lord are way above the attempts of man.

Have a great day.
Fellow brother in Christ

Thank you to both of you.

My name on here 'inspirationmoment101' is the same as my youtube channel but yes it's a bit long lol.

I just wanted to keep my online names all the same.

marie glen

I did that too.. with my name that is. We could nickname you i101, lol.. I'm sure we'll come up with something!

That is amazing about the church! And right across the road from you!

I can relate to your journey. Though it's amazing to me how God reaches those in the church, with UR. Amazing but not unbelievable! Lol.

I was not in church nor going to church when converted. I was in the Rocky Mountains. I'd been studying up a bit on world religions.. Long story, short, I ended up zeroing in on the Bible. All these things in all our lives, are done by Him.. When I sought out other believers, I knew I was getting mixed messages. The Lord was telling me the way, or attitude toward others, was LOVE. I could feel His LOVE for people. But from the churches I was getting more of an attitude of a sort of strictness, or sternness toward those outside the churches, so they would know they are sinners in need of Jesus. It wasn't jiving with what I was getting from the Lord and my New Testament..

So I dropped the churches, rather than drop Him! Or that was how I thought of it, as in churches, I found myself conforming.. outwardly.. and I felt phony, not me, not genuine. And even more importantly I felt closer to the Lord on my own.

Without so much ET tutoring and teaching, UR scriptures can remain UR! Then I became aware of the big Strong's books! :dsunny: And could look up certain words..

Then came along the internet.. :gsmile:

The Lord honored Gary, by revealing that church to you on the very day of Gary's passing.. :HeartThrob:

We have spoken before Marie...I was marc555 on here a while back.  I'm more settled now due to events such as this ... Things seem to happen to me that keeps me on this track.  I'm still seeking but far more settled in my search and confident I'm on the right track.  It's really nice to speak again and I recall that story about the Rockies.  :HeartThrob:
